We frequent this restaurant the most in Palau because it is situated within the Penthouse hotel and provides good food at great prices. The bakery offers some of the best breads and pastries on Palau.
Food is okay and location is good for down town meal. Their baked deserts are good. We've ordered multiple cakes from here for special occasions. This hotel is used frequently by work travelers and the restaurant makes a good location for lunch/dinner meetings. Menu has...a variety of items. Parking, as with all of down town Koror can be an issue.More
The staff was friendly, service was good. A must try - Taro bread french toast! Seasonal fruit was a good size platter of fresh fruit. The blueberry pancakes were simply pancakes with blueberry topping.
While in Palau we have eaten at the Penthouse Hotel restaurant several times. The fish of the day, Taro soup and selection of cakes were excellent.
We stayed in the Penthouse hotel and ate here quite a few times. I always look forward to breakfast, and most especially fish dinner. Service by the Filipino workers were excellent.
The Penthouse is by far the place to go if you want Palau’s local food experience. They specialize in “beldakl” the always fresh fish soup du jour, or the “sar ma cheluch” which is whole fish enrobed in a tasty concoction of coconut oil, salt,...and white and green onions. You can pair your fresh fish with local golden or sweet purple taro, sunny tapioca, or the standard rice, and yes, even mashed potatoes. They also offer “demok” a rich creamy coconut soup flavored with taro-leaf, and the stuffed crabs topped with coconut cream. You can wash your dinner down with a tart and refreshing “titimel” or “kingkang” juice and then save room for one of their decadent desserts or take away a bag of their deep chocolate crinkle cookies or addictive cheesecake bread buns for a midnight snack. While almost everything they make is divine, they’ve yet to come up with a good tempura batter recipe. Recommend going there for breakfast or for dinner. Lunch is almost always a raucous affair with filled-to-capacity tables, and is the favorite hangout for business lunches and corporate events.More
Our first dinner in Palau was at the Penthouse Restaurant. We ordered fish and demok, a taro leave with coconut milk soup that is common in many island cuisine. I was reminded with my own mother's cooking. The food here is so good we ate...most of our meals here.More
I consider it a very good restaurant with local, western, Japanese and some Chinese food on the menu. Service is usually fast and friendly and the food is well presented and quite good. One side of the restaurant is like a coffee shop, brightly lit...for friends getting together to gossip and do business, and the other is more formal and laid out for just enjoying the good food. with friends and family. It is generally informal and not intended to impress particularly but just to provide good food and good service and I think it does that very well.More
It's not in the main street but just behind, so no fancy high catching neon sign or huge billboard, ie prices are 30% cheaper than competitors (based on crab prices) and wider selection. To enter, you have to pass via the hotel lobby.
As i stayed in Palau for 2 days. I had most of my meals here. The food is great. The staff are truly awesome. A clean setting. Chef prepares any requests. So a must go to place while on the island.
Always great food at affordable prices! Locally family owned! Casual and a must go anytime you go to Palau. Service is excellent also!
The restaurant is located in a hotel that is off the main road....looking at the hotel yiu wold never guess they had a restaurant....but once inside, and seated, you are in a for a treat.,..they have some fabulous dished, at reasonable prices...wine selection is a...bit restricted but the parrot fish in coconut emulsion is divine!!! Ray, the waiter went over and beyond to look after us......the fish and prawns dish is also very tasty.....you won't be sorry but please don't let the location and decor put you off.....More
Came here with a colleague for local seafood experience and it was amazing! She called ahead and placed our order in so it was ready by the time we arrived. Portions are good sized for family sharing and super fresh fish lobster and crabs. I...do not know the prices as I did not pay.More
Great menu, excellent food and reasonable prices. I would recommend this restaurant! When returning to Palau, I will stay at this hotel and eat at this restaurant.
