Me and my family visited our friends in Bishkek and they recommended this restaurant. We really wanted some stakes but we knew that not every restaurant is good at cooking them. Anyway, we decided to risk it. When we tried the first bite we were...gladly surprised. It was juicy and perfectly cooked. We highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed.More

The attraction for eating at Barashek is that you can sit outside under a gazebo and watch the street life go by while eating delectable offerings from the grill. Service is a bit average but made up for by the great selection of reasonably priced...local meat platters, salads, local beers and wines. This is a place to hold a small dinner party on a summer evening in Bishkek.More

We had high expectations of good food in a great environment and were disappointed with the food. Firstly they tried to seat us next to a children’s play area with about 20 small children playing and crying on play equipment. Totally unsuitable for people nearer...70 than 40! Then when our lamb chops eventually arrived they vegetables were stone cold, the plates cold and the meat warm and dry. Really don’t bother. Did I mention that it is great for kids?More

If you would like to taste the local meat cuisine, Barashek is the best place to go. It is very well furnished, the service is great. The atmosphere is warm. If you have small kids - there is a special room for them. The place...is a meat paradise. Good choice of local drinks as well. Every driver knows the place.More

We had a great dinner with friends at Barashek last summer on our last night in Bishkek. The place is bright, modern, well cared for and all the staff are very friendly which was nice after so many grouchy servers in the past few months...of our travels around the ‘stans. Everything we ordered was excellent, all of the meat dishes we had were perfectly cooked to order and the meat just fell off the bone or seemed to be able to cut it with a fork. Overall a terrific outing by all and we would recommend Barashek for all.More

This is a lovely bright and airy restaurant. The food was all very nice. A waiter had a mishap with gravy but could not have been more apologetic. Lovely staff, Have to go upstairs. Good for very large groups.

This is one of my favourite restaurant in Bishkek. During 6 years my every visit becomes the time of enjoying the grilled Meat. The place suits only for them Who likes to eat a lot))))) because the portions are too big for normal human person)...If you are very hungry you have to order the Tomahawk Beef Steak! Its the really King size! Very big Steak on the big one Beef Bone! The weight is about 1 kilos! Prices are Just in a middle Level or a little higher than in other restaurants.More

The warm hospitality, but mostly, I enjoyed with the way the food and drinks are so simpatico. It’s the best place to eat in Bishkek. You can find as well as steaks and local meat dishes also. I could recommend to order lamb ribs with...potato balls. That’s really delicious and juicy. The atmosphere is pretty friendly and nothing let you become tired or nervous. There is the separate hall for kids and it’s so attractive for family with children. The choice of drinks and food are wide, some vegetarian salads and hot dishes in menu. Some waiters speak English and offer you the English menu. It seems that this restaurant as one of the food and personnel safety guaranteed place in Bishkek, because everything is clean and management pays a lot of attention for guests comfort, but the service isn’t noisy and disturbing.More

The welcome was Ok. The interior is beautiful. The service is indifferent - waiter's approach was lukewarm and even the management, as there were no spoons to serve the salad no knife/fork to serve the meat from the main plate. But the salads were very...delicious, even the Caesar was a real one. The lamb was not as expected, the lamb chops were hard, however the chicken was tender. It is obvious that the owners had a good idea and had a lot to invest, however if they will keep it running this way, it will not give back what it could.More

It's a nice cafe a bit fancy for me but in general I liked it. The prices are quite high but it's one of those type of cafes (Elite Cafes). I had some grilled sheep and it was nice. I'm not sure I will go...back again because of the location out of the center and the prices are a bit out of my budget for what you get. Location is on the south side of Bishkek close to the mountains and near AUCA University.More

I have always raved about 3 things at Barashek: quality of food, great service and the only restaurant in town with playground for kids. I have never liked the pretentious design of this place to include couches that are so low that the tables are...at your chest-height and you have to raise your elbows high to pick up the food off the plate. That did not change but what did change is the service. The dinner we had there last Sunday put an end to my desire to ever visit this place again. I wonder if I should skip all the horrors of the service when we asked not one or two but five waiters to bring us glasses for kids and nothing has happened? Or that when I finally went to the bar to get glasses myself I found our waiter trying to wipe down glasses that were semi-dirty and he was doing so with a speed of a snail? Or that he has brought a water that we ordered and then set it on a side table with little to no interest of pouring it into glasses or that he was pouring wine into my glass while elbowing me in the face? But the last drop was that he got two order completely wrong, then argued with my friends that he did in fact get it right. Now, something amazing did happen that never happens at any restaurant in Bishkek - the manager after learning of our pains had removed one dish off the bill and even gave us 10% discount on top. That never happens in Bishkek to anyone and it blew me away but unfortunately not enough to bring me back my sanity and it did not save a ruined evening. Yes, this place did have great food and for majority still does - except now the specials from chef and Argentinian menu are completely gone. The menu translation in English suggests that they used a Google translate and will make you laugh for hours but the service has gone down hill and presence of the army of waiters does not change much. Too sad but I will end up boycotting this place and take my business elsewhere.More
