A wonderful surprise - a perfect steak in Bishkek

As a meat loving family , I was a bit worried to order a steak in Kyrgistan… but the modern restaurant design alleviated the initial concerns. we ordered the ribeye and the pepper steak. OMG! Perfect medium rare cuts. What a wonderful surprise to have a perfect steak in Bishkek. For the braves- you can order a horse steak and a Yak steak… we didn’t go that far. The deserts and coffee kept the high standards. ( but not the milkshakes and the chicken wings we ordered). Go there!

Somehow, even before the visit, I got the idea to eat a steak with a bottle of red wine. They brought the menu, but there was no wine there. And if I shouldn’t ask.... Here, of course, I screwed up myself. I saw the separate wine list when I left. However, it is strange that it was not brought along with the menu. Salad with horse meat - very tasty. Nice dressing, beautiful presentation. There was a lot of horse meat. I'm not an expert on steaks, but in my opinion it's not bad. The service, by Kyrgyz standards, is prompt. What was missing for me was the “face”, some kind of zest of the establishment. I feel like I walked into a good, but chain restaurant in Moscow. You can go in, but I won’t recommend the restaurant in Bishkek as a top-line restaurant for those passing through.

Best horse steak place in Bishkek

Amazing place. I tried here first time in my life Horse steak. It was so delicious so i can not pass you folks. I do strongly recommend visit this place and try specific dishes. Been there twice already. Will visit them again

€30 for the ribeye and the bier is just to much.

Restaurant is way to expensive compared with the other good restaurants in Bishkek. €30 for the ribeye and the bier is just to much. The meat was good but not perfect. It is also nice if the waiter asks if everything is ok but if he does that seven times in 25 minutes it becomes annoying. On the other hand it is very much possible that you can’t get better steak enywhere else in Bishkek.

Price-quality does not match

We went for lunch in the afternoon. I’ll say right away that we didn’t order steaks. But half the menu was not available. The waiter is rude. I didn't really like the soup. We left there with a feeling of unsaidness. Pros: The interior is beautifully decorated. Interesting bathroom.

After nearly two years this place is as good as before lockdown started. Service is impeccable, steaks are fine, most of the things on the menu are available. Live guitar music on Saturday evening was good and not loud.

Delicious steaks!

I celebrated my birthday there with my family. Lovely place! Nice interior design, ok music, good service and excellent steaks we came for. All of us ordered different type of steaks and all of us loved our choice. The meat is cooked with right amount of spices, tender and juicy, and just melts in your mouth. They also provide discounts for birthdays if you have id with your to validate your birthday date. Definitely going to visit this place again.

Good place but showing its age

Came for dinner looking for top quality steaks and it was ok, coming from New York I guess I just expect more. The service though was 5 stars, our waiter was really on top of our table, and it showed he cared about the guests. The reason for the three stars was the place was just not looked after properly and when observing mangers on there cell phones I can see why. I personally think our waiter should be the manger, I bet improvement would occur.

Good grilled meat, but a bit more on the expensive side

I have been visiting Red Cow several times over the past two years. Service is usually very good (sometines a bit slower, but very good). Waltera usually speak English, Russian, Kyrgyz, AND Are knowledgeable of Food. Speaks Are good, actually Food is good. IT is a bit on te expensive side for Bishkek, but you do get quality for tihe price. If you wand a good steak or grilled meat, definitely place to visit.

Cozy and super tasty

Bone marrow. Don’t miss the bone marrow appetizer at this cozy downtown steakhouse (outside tables as well). For about $2.50, my husband and I shared four generous bones filled with marrow, which we spread on toasts. In the States, if you could even find this, it would be $20. We followed this tasty treat with a platter of lamb, chicken and beef sausages and chateaubriand accompanied by a lovely little salad and some tomato caprice with really creamy cheese. The local beer was tasty, according to my husband, and there is imported wine by the glass, which I enjoyed. Our bill was about $35 including a 15 percent tip. A true bargain. We ate in a smaller, cozier room, but there are more elegant rooms there too. Our server Julia, who I think might have been the manager, was great with English.

Good but not best!

I went there for lunch. I ordered mushroom steak. The meat was good just like good restaurants in my home town. Side sauce was not good to me. But in general i satisfied. If i visit Bishkek again, i dont think its a place where you have to come in your every visit to Bishkek. For a 300 gr bonfilet and a coke i paid 1000 som. Its little bit expensive for this country i think...

The patty was cooked nicely and overall the burger was kept simple, but full of flavour. The bun was soft and balanced really well with the meaty fillings, making the burger very easy to eat – before I knew it, it was all gone! The sauce was great, but I wish I had more of it. The chips were good too and just the way I like them; thin and very salty. Would definitely go back! Good Job Chef! & We’d be remiss not to review a steak with mushrooms souce at a steakhouse. Delicately charred with just enough seasoning, the focal item does not disappoint. This steak will impress even the most discerning carnivores.
