Great experience altogether. Finally a waiter in Bishkek who understands his job. Perfect service and the food was great.

Apparently Niko shares the building with another restaurant - Ugolyok - which is more of a trendy steak house and bar type; customers get two menus. One of these is Niko’s, which is Georgian indeed (more Georgian wines are in the wine list, which again...is a separate document). I have visited Niko 3 times in three days; I tried Adjarian khachapuri, different khinkalis, and lots of starters for a big company (satsivi, egg plant rolls, adzhapsandali, cheese plate, Ossetian pie). Everything I tried was of very good quality and close to original taste; cheese appears to be home made. The only drinkable Georgian wine was Saperavi, but it was very good indeed. Service was very kind and reasonably attentive, prices were very reasonable. When back to Bishkek - I will come again.More

The cuisine is Georgian, a mix of central Asian and Mediterranean. In a modern building on the south side of town, the restaurant is on the second floor of an open atrium where musical events are often on tap. We were there on a quiet...night and the ambience was pleasant. (There's a small craft bazaar on the lower level, too). We had mixed veggies with eggplant, onion, peppers; a pastry with eggs and cheese; a flat bread with ground meat; and a unique jellied dessert with walnuts made in the shape of a rope. A very nice place with good food and a friendly staff.More
