Bun Bo Nam Bo

Ratings and reviews

Certificate of Excellence2015 - 2018 Winner

Location and contact

Bun bo Nam Bo is marinating the beef, then comes making 'nuoc cham' and the pickled vegetables (shredded carrot and papaya). The pickled vegies is crispy, a little sour and a little sweet, which even makes me eat two bowls of the noodle at once. Remember to pickle the carrot (and papaya first, before marinating the beef) since it takes at least 1 hour to get a good flavor on the carrot.

This restaurant's specialty - Bun Bo Nam Bo (beef noodle salad) also features in its name. There's a very good reason for that: they do it superbly well. A lot of businesses could learn lessons from this gem of a local restaurant - do only...More

This ended up being around the corner from our hotel - it was really yummy, fresh, and clean. They had a good amount of space as well, so you could go with a big group. It's more of a lunch spot.

The restaurant only served a handful of items on the menu. The beef noodle salad was unusual at first as it did not have any soup, but it was really good.

My friends and I were recommended for this beef noodle place by hotel receptionist. We went there 3 times. This place was packed all the time. The receptionist is right, the beef noodle salad is one of the best we have ever had. Fresh and...More

This place proves my emerging theory about Vietnam: that the more you pay for food here, the worse it is. The beef noodle bowl that we had here, accompanied by a fried bun and a beer, was one of the least expensive and most delicious...More

We were first here in December, and were taken here as part of a Hanoi Street Food Tour. The flavors of the Bun Bo Nam Bo were stunningly good and left a sensory memory in my brain that never left, despite cuisine from Thailand and...More

This is probably the most reviewed (by travellers like us) "local/inexpensive but great" restaurant in Hanoi. It is a highly ranked restaurant, has received TripAdvisor's "Certificate of Excellence"--- and is well located in the "old section" of Hanoi. The menu is very limited... and the...More

I always get excited when the menu has only a few items, it’s usually a good sign. The noodles were delicious, the combination of garlic, beef, bean sprouts, coriander, lettuce, and nuts with a tiny bit of broth makes the dish well rounded. I would...More

We loved this stop on our food tour. She ordered us a noodle salad, I was surprised to see it came hot. Great flavours, will return.

No need to book. Just take a sit if it's free. It's not a formal restaurant.
