Great views but lousy and overpriced food. The vegetarian menus were simply horrible. This was a big disappointment and felt like a tourist trap.

Amazing view and food. Unfortunately for us just before dessert God decided to give us a shower. So we had to move downstairs to a lower floor. Needless to say it’s quite hectic. But well done by the staff. We had a wonderful evening and...enjoyed the quality of the food and the wine. Not cheap 18.737 THB for 4 persons but thanks to all Accor plus got almost 4.000 THB discount. At 14.799 THB 387€ is money well spend. Drinks 🍷 were 6.000 THB food 8.800 THBMore
Our visit went off the rails early. When when we checked in, it was clear that many people wanted to be on the roof top to enjoy the view without paying for it by buying food or drinks. There was chaos at the hostess station...all night which disturbed other diners. Our server was not comfortable with her English and several times walked away from our table, even while taking our order. The food was great, it was the atmosphere and service that were seriously lacking for fine dining prices. We waited nearly a half hour after being seated to even be told that the menu was on line. We eventually ordered a three course dinner at a total price of $350 including wine pairings. The wines were sub par for the price, the desert wine being a yellow tail moscato. We waited nearly an hour and never did receive desert. We were never offered water, never given an explanation for why our desert took over an hour and still did not arrive. Bottom line, if you bill yourself as A fine dining restaurant and charge prices accordingly, you need to provide great service. Vertigo failed to provide us with anything more than chaos and disappointment for a rather substantial charge. I would not recommend vertigo unless you like poor service in a chaotic atmosphere.More
Excellent service, staff and food. We were there for a special occasion and Khun Lek & Carly were extremely kind and thoughtful to make sure we had an unforgettable experience. Surprised with a birthday serenade as well ! Had a lovely evening celebrating and liked...that they took photos of each guest and had it nicely printed to bring home. Amazing views of the city. Definitely coming back. Thanks again to all the amazing staff for being so friendly and attentive !More
Breathtaking experience with a really cool vibe. Being one of the best rooftop bars in the world it naturally is hard to get a table, even though the staff are outstanding at seating people in order. Drinks are pricey, again no shock! Only issue we...had was that the service was a bit slow considering it’s no surprise that it’s busy every night!More
It's been quite a while since my last review on Tripadvisor, but this time I am willing to take my time reviewing on this amazing place although this is not my first visit at Vertigo. The reason I am back on Tripadvisor for the review...is because of Khun "Saw", the staff that has taken care of us during our dinner at Vertigo Rooftop. Khun Saw was very attentive in every single detail ensuring our special evening went smoothly such as offering to change the table for more privacy and better view, complimentary cake for the special occasion, and photo shooting. He is professional to handle with the customers. The dishes we ordered were also in good quality and in a decent portion. Duck salad was my favourite dish for an appetizer. the Sea bass as a main dish was nice. Sorbet was also served after the appetizer before the main course. Nowadays, the Vertigo Rooftop Moon Bar has been moved to the left side so the guests seated for dinner do not get disturbed by visitors that pass by for only drinking at the Moon Bar anymore. All in all, my partner and I enjoyed the moment here a lot and the great service and hospitality we have received will always remind us to return. Our special occasion has become even more special here at Vertigo Rooftop.More
We’ve been to Vertigo many times over the years and always enjoyed great food and service, but they seem to have raised the bar again. Excellent food, efficient service, with a smile and one of the best views in Bangkok. What could be better !!
We discovered this place recently and fell in love. The service is great, especially on weekdays when it’s not busy, and the drinks are world class
Drinks in the Moon Bar at sunset is a must before dining in Vertigo. The views over Bangkok from this outside bar and dining area are spectacular. The drinks and service excellent and the food and service at Vertigo surprisingly good for such a popular...venue.More
Fantastic food, we shared the chateaubriand and it was amazing, the views of Bangkok are stunning. I was disappointed with the service, we waited nearly 1 hour for a caesar salad starter and everything just felt slow. I also found the dress code laughable! My...husband is a smart dresser, whilst he had tailored shorts and a collared top, he only had a smart pair of leather flip flops which were not acceptable, he had to wear a borrowed pair of shoes! But they allowed men to enter looking absolutely scruffy wearing jeans, scruffy t-shirts , crocs or trainers that had seen better days! I’m sure no one would have even noticed my husband’s footwear it’s that dark..More
Overpriced but nice view. Certainly not where locals go for a drink. My expresso martini was good. The service was excellent and I did enjoy stepping out on their platform for a picture.
I’m aware the heading of this review is just common sense - the rooftop is the whole reason you go to Vertigo in the first place! You go there knowing that you’ll pay far too much money, but it doesn’t matter, because the setting is...so unique and it will be worth it. However, take away the view and rooftop setting, and I’d suggest you go elsewhere. I’d been waiting 10 years to eat at this restaurant, and was looking forward to it as a highlight of a trip with friends and family. So you can imagine my frustration/disappointment when we arrived and were told that the rooftop area was closed due to some earlier rain. A 20 minute rainstorm had apparently rendered the rooftop bar/restaurant unusable, but that it “may reopen” in a short while (which was nonsense - more on that later) We proceeded to sit and order, and despite no more rain for the next 3 hours, the rooftop area never reopened. The menu is fine, and the quality of the most items was very good, however the prices are obscene. And then you’re hit with a 10% service charge AND 7% VAT, making an already expensive meal that much more costly. As a result, we paid a lot of money to sit in a fairly standard restaurant, that had a view out some windows, with an impressive but overpriced menu. I will say, Carly the duty manager was excellent, and she even went to the trouble of taking us up to the rooftop area at the end of the night for a small tour/visit, so we could see the view and get some photos. Hers - and the rest of the staff - is a tough position to be in, as they know people are disappointed not to have access to the roof, but they can’t control the weather either. Re: the rooftop area possibly re-opening at some stage during the night - this comment turned out to be disingenuous, as when we DID go up there, everything was tied down, with all lights off and clearly no effort to reopen. At 5pm that night, the hotel clearly decided they wouldn’t open the bar at all for the evening. I would suggest the restaurant consider some sort of compensation in situations like this to help make things somewhat better. Ditch the ridiculous service surcharge perhaps? Whether or not, if a restaurant offers a service or experience that they can’t deliver, the customer shouldn’t be forced to pay the same amount. If you have a booking and there’s rain in the area a couple of hours before you leave, don’t bother going.More
Located at the top of Banyan tree, location is great (of cause). We were during rain season, so the are is only indoor. We had a set course meal (that’s how they serve it). Both vegetarians. Food was very ordinary. We had pasta, risotto, salads,...etc. Risotto was undercooked and dinner in Vertigo it was actually the worst food we had in Bangkok. Quite tasteless, without anything special. The ambience is quite outdated, everything feels old. I think Vertigo used to be top places back time but not anymore. Clearly not.More
Stunning views, impeccable service and good food! We had a wonderful dinner experience with our 4-year-old daughter. Everything is prepared for the little ones: Disney plates & cutlery, a nice Kids menu, a complimentary juice - and even an own iPad with cartoons for the...kids, if need be, so the parents can dine peacefully… Our waiter Benz was so wonderful and attentive - especially to our little daughter! Although being a very trendy place, every effort is made to make you welcome as a family with kids.More
Vertigo on top of the world at the Banyan Tree is quite exceptional. I have been visiting the Hotel (My Home) for just over ten years now. Last night accompanied by my Very Dear Friend Khun Goong from the Hotel’s Club Lounge we experienced magical...memories. A memories of tastes, views, and friendship. Our Host Khun Sow, for the evening was outstandingly professional, courteous, and gracious. It was so lovely to to see his pictures of his new baby son. That’s special. Very Special! The meal was sensational. The pumpkin soup had a wow factor all of its own with its top hat of flaky pastry. The main courses of salmon and steak were out of this world. All this befitting pursuing the world of excellence it certainly did and beyond.More
