This tall dark haired slim guy made the best cocktails ever! The food was amazing. Make sure you get the crab flatbread! A must stop if you have the time.
Thanks for the great review! We're so happy to hear that your crab flatbread and cocktails were both delicious! Hope to see you again soon. Mahalo!
Delicious lunch! We walked across the road after the pineapple tour. Had a reservation but were early and they accommodated us. Crab pizza to start was yummy. We had the curry fish bowl and Chinese chicken salad and both were tasty and satisfying. Our server...was friendly and checked on us regularly. We didn’t mind the 2% surcharge for the kitchen staff. Maui is a very expensive place to live and they did a wonderful job. Not sure why that is a problem for others. Ask for it to be removed or reduce the gratuity by 2% if it will break the bank for you. Seems like an insignificant complaint for delicious food in a beautiful place. Plus it’s not the only place in Maui that we visited that added that.More
Thanks for the great review, Nicole! We're so happy to hear that your lunch was delicious! We appreciate your kind words and we hope to see you again soon! Mahalo!
An absolutely delicious afternoon lunch. We had pork enchilada pie and ribs with french fries and slaw. Wonderful food, good service in a historic building. Very happy with this gem.
Thanks for the great review! We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed your lunch with us and that our team did a wonderful job. Hope to see you again soon! Mahalo!
My wife 100% loved the pan crested macadamia nut mahi-mahi. Also, the incredible mashed purple sweet potato’s 🍠 (it says general store, there really isn’t a store there anymore. Just the restaurant).
Thanks for the wonderful review! We're so glad to hear that both you and your wife had a wonderful experience with us and we hope to see you again soon. Mahalo!
We ere greeted with such ALOHA- It felt like we were being seated in their own home. Immediately we were comfortably seated and knew we made the right decision for picking Hailiimaile.Ben the bartender made our drinks to perfection and his unique style of Mexology...was spot on.I was impressed. And Chris, served our food with a smile and answered our questions with the sauces.. Savannah orchestrated our three course meal perfectly. We ended with the thoughts of when we can return to this hidden Gem of a restaurantMore
Thanks so much for the great review, Jules! We're so happy to hear that your experience with us was nothing short of fantastic! Hope to see you again soon. Mahalo!
Stopped today for lunch. Asian grilled chicken salad and the garden salad with grilled Mahi Mahi were terrific! And talk about a friendly place! From the greeter, waitress and bus man were exceptionally pleasant! I’ll remember this place for a stop next time around
Thanks for the great review! We're so glad to hear that your grilled chicken salad and Mahi Mahi were both delicious and that our team did an exceptional job. Hope to see you again soon! Mahalo!
We went for our anniversary on the recommendation of a friend. Despite being dressed up and telling them ahead of time it was our anniversary at the time of making the reservation the greeting was curt and business like. We were sat at a table...for four looking at the service and kitchen area. With music overhead and the noise of the kitchen next to us as well as two empty chairs at our large table it was not intimate at all. No one asked if we were celebrating or anything about us other than to identify we were new and explain their restaurant. The atmosphere is casual and not what we expected based on the advertised description and recommendations. Another odd item is that despite having a fairly large seating capacity, there are only two single restrooms. One for women and one for all genders. This led to a queue for use during the dinner hour. The menu was more limited than we were expecting. Vegetarian options are clear on the menu. I would have had to make a lot of modification requests to the kitchen to make it vegan and it’s not worth it. The advertisement indicates vegan options. We should have verified. The dinner salad was small and not dinner sized. My husband enjoyed the mahi mahi as he has less dietary restrictions than I. The quality of what we did get was good but not worth our anniversary, the price or our time.More
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're very sorry to hear that we missed the opportunity to wish you a very happy anniversary and that your table was less than ideal. We should have caught the anniversary tag and made a point...More
What a charming restaurant! The ambiance was lovely, the service was top notch and the food was fabulous! My husband and I had reservations for brunch at 11:15 am (note, they do not serve breakfast items...just a nice varied lunch menu). We started with refreshing...beverages...I ordered one of their speciality cocktails, the "Lemongrass Ginger Frost" and he had a Maui Brewing Co. "Big Swell". We then shared the Braised Pork Belly Bao Buns and I had the Crab and Rock Shrimp Cakes appetizer as my main and he had the Kalua Pork Enchilada Pie. Everything was just delicious, but I must say that the Bao Buns were my fav!More
Thanks for the wonderful review, again! You're so sweet to leave a great review on all platforms. Hope to see you again soon! Mahalo again!
Food was very good. However there was a surprise in small type on the bottom of the menu, a 2% surcharge for the kitchen staff. They should pay their kitchen staff. I complained and they volunteered to take it off. I already charged it so...I declined. I won't be returning to a restaurant that operates like this. Just pay your employeesMore
Aloha, Rick. Mahalo for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your meal. I appreciate your thoughts and it sounds like you did discuss the Kitchen Surcharge with the manager. It appears you weren't satisfied with that conversation, and I'd just like to take this...More
seem to have slid a bit, however, last night, everything we ordered was just as good as when Bev owned the place. Way to go, and please keep it up! We've lived here for 40+ years and have always felt Haliimaile GS was a very...special place. The Ono catch of the day was perfectly cooked with the parmesean encrustation, and the mushrooms risotto it was served on was delicious. The sashimi napolean was as fresh and good as ever, and farm salad was very fresh and tasty too! Collette provided warn and great service, without being too intrusive. It was a great evening. We would encourage you to do some sort of kamaaina special to get more locals back, and provide the quality you provided last night (1/13/24) and all will be as it should be!!! Love that you've maintained all the things that made HGS so special - well, except Bev and Joe (RIP) of course!More
Thanks for the great review! We saw your review over on OpenTable and again, we appreciate your kind words! Hope to see you again soon. Mahalo!
This place is awesome. This was our first time. It is definitely worth the drive from your resort. The Napolean sushi appetizer is a must. We also shared the curried Mahi. It is light curry with lemongrass. Again totally delicious. Last but not least are...the cocktails. The Mai Tai is different from normal and better than most...my wife had a lemon ginger drink she loved... We will be returning...More

Only OK. Was seated in the back which was not a great vibe overall. Food was OK, but didn’t live up to the hype or prices. Was disappointed they do t make the chicken sandwich at dinner on request.More

Arrived in Maui and headed upcountry. The general store building caught our eye so we ended up there for lunch. The upcountry farm salad was crisp & ahi poke bowl tasty! The desserts looked delicious too, but all contained dairy and/or gluten so none for...me. Wait staff was very friendly. Prices are reasonable for fresh ingredients. Initially we were seated right next to the register which was awkward, but they were able to accommodate and move us to a more comfortable table. I would suggest moving the table by the register/door as you are just in the line of traffic coming in and out. All in all, solid place for lunch especially if you are looking for fresh salads/poke although burgers, etc. looked yummy. There are plenty of gluten-free options and you can adjust most menu items if you have other food restrictions/preferences.More
Thanks so much for the great review! We're very glad to hear that we were able to move you to a better suited table and that your meal was delicious! Hope to see you again soon. Mahalo!
so many great options including catch of the day as well as usual burgers and sandwiches. Great service, welcoming, can try the local vodka too if that appeals.
Thanks for the great review, Lauretta! We're so glad that you enjoyed your catch of the day and burger. It's great to hear that our team did a great job and we hope to see you again soon! Mahalo!
