The Nauti Lobstah (awesome name) has been on my "Must Try" list for sone time. Luckily, I had the opportunity to visit last night for a special dinner with my lady. We had such a great experience that we both decided this is our new...favorite seafood spot!
This restaurant is tucked away in a very unassuming location in Apopka. It's right off a main street but you'd pass right by it if you weren't paying close attention. It's exterior is plain but these are things that I like about it. It's on the low low, kinda like the IYKYK flow. But once you enter, it's like you get transported to another dimension of seafood paradise. It's has a very welcoming and friendly vibe. The restaurant is very clean and simple with nice indoor seating as well as cute and romantic outdoor seating. The service is top notch with the staff working together and all very attentive. The food was also amazing. From beginning to end, we had a pleasant experience.
My lady started off by ordering a drink (Sunrise?!) that was too sweet and didn't seem to have enough alcohol, but thankfully our waitress gladly replaced it with the better and stronger, Margarita. We jumped right into ordering our entrees. My lady ordered the Twin Lobstah tails which was baked and had seasoned ritz crackers crumbled on top, a nice addition. Her meal came with 2 sides, so she opted for the house salad with balsamic vinaigrette and the mash potatoes. She could not stop gushing about the Lobstah's and she also enjoyed her sides. The mash were dark in color which threw me off but still tasted ok. I opted for the Fisherman's platter which can be fried or boiled (I went fried). This meal also comes with 2 sides, so I opted for the sweet potato casserole and the creamed spinach. I really enjoyed both. There's a handful of option with my platter but I opted for the "Fried Boneless Catfish" and the "New Bedford Scallops." Both were really good but the breading on the scallops were falling off as they were probably sitting for a while. I'm not going to complain about this because I think it was due to my lady's meal which takes 20-25 minutes (according to the menu). The hush puppies were also amongst the best I've had. For dessert we wanted some Key Lime. It is served "Deconstructed" in a tiny Mason Jar with Raspberry Sauce, Homemade Whipped Cream and Graham Crackers. It was so good but a bit too sweet and extra tangy.
Overall, we loved The Nauti Lobstah. The ambiance, food, and service were all wonderful and we are happy to have found another "favorite!"More
