We had hot chocolate and it was amazing. The odd thing is how the store is organized, though. You order and pay almost as soon as you're in, and then wander around and look at the merchandise. Once you've got your drink, ice cream cone, sundae, whatever, in hand, you're not likely to buy anything else. It's as if the chocolates were an afterthought, as more of a decoration than actual items for sale.

Since it was a hot day, we stopped by Ghirardelli in California Adventure for a cold treat. My son and I decided to share a Create Your Own Quake Shake™ (Vanilla Milkshake blended with your choice of three Ghirardelli® Chocolate SQUARES from our Pick and Mix table, topped with Whipped Cream and Ghirardelli® Mini Dark Chocolate Chips) We chose the non-dairy vanilla coconut ice cream and a dark chocolate mint, a dark chocolate raspberry and a white chocolate caramel square to mix into the shake. It isn't totally vegan but for us, it was close enough.
For $9.95, it is a bit expensive for a shake but it is in Disneyland where everything is a bit expensive. We really enjoyed the shake which turned out more like a Blizzard like mix than a milkshake. The ice cream did not taste like coconut which is nice because when coconut is used in an ice cream mix, it usually tastes like coconut. There were plenty of tables outside for social distancing which we appreciated.

An English family of 6 we have visited every year for 23 years as part of our trip. We will miss it this year due to virus. The flavours, colours and joy we share in eating the Earthquake is unbeatable. Hopefully do it again in 2021.

We went to DCA in October 2018 and Ghirardelli had ice cream cones for the same price as Clarabell's in Buena Vista Street. This time Ghirardelli was 50% more per cone. I didn't like having to walk out to Clarabell's but I did. I liked them before the price increase.

This is quick service. You walk in, order your ice cream (I had the world famous hot fudge sundae) from plentiful menu, wait a few minutes for them to call your name and pick it up. There is plenty of seating outside where you can enjoy your ice cream delight.

Worst Run Store at Disneyland! This potentially great store is horribly run, NEVER has enough cashiers, and is poorly designed for any efficiency.
If you want to buy a handful of candy, you have to wait in a long line with guests ordering food - made even worse when there is only one cashier!
I imagine this store misses at lease 20% in sales because of its asinine set up. There is also less product and selection than before. Less special, less unique, less everything.
And - they pandemic is over. Maybe you could hand out samples again. Or is that too thoughtful?

We returned twice on our 5 day trip to SanFrancisco. Shared Lands End and Cookie Crumble between 4 of us both times. They are huge and we didnt finish either days. I recommend the big shop upstairs...just a more authentic experience. The tables turn over pretty quick. They gave my littles a chocolate syrup sample as we left...they were thrilled!
Would recommend Ghirardelli Square to anyone who visits SanFran!

It is almost impossible to walk past this ice cream parlour without ordering one, they are not the cheapest and they have definitely gone up over the last few years, but they are delicious and there are plenty of sundaes or milkshakes to choose from. There is also a chocolate shop attached, which sells some nice gifts, you can buy the chocolate cheaper in Walmart but they don't offer all of the same things
There is a large seating area outside so plenty of places to sit, although it does get very busy as the parlour is in a large food eating area, it is perfect to take a break and relax a little and spend a little time watching the world go by
This is one of my favorite places, weather in California or Florida, just perfect for indulging

We were trying to scape the coldness and went to this shop to get a hot cocoa. It was delicious, it was the holiday season so we order a “Pepermint Hot Cocoa”. If you are there by this time of the year please order some for yourself.

My family ordered two sundaes to split. We got the sea salted Carmel and chocolate and the cookie one. So good! Multiple checkout cashiers, and a pick up counter in the back. Very nice and convenient.

I got the Black Forest Hot Fudge Sundae. At $13 it was a little pricey, but there were real cherries (not just flavoring) throughout vanilla ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream, and chocolate sprinkles. REALLY good!

Service and quality of the ice cream is spot on. If your in the mood for a sweet treat, you should stop here. It's in a quaint spot,staff is friendly and personable. I even asked for whipped cream and they were happy to accommodate. Great experience!🍧

This is the best ice cream in all of the Disneyland Resort and the portions are huge. I had 2 scoops of chocolate on a cone and I could only eat about 1 1/2 scoops before I had to stop. On a previous visit just two days before, we ordered the Earthquake, which is about 3 banana splits, to share among eight of us. It's pure deliciousness with nine different flavors of ice cream, several different sauces, bananas, whipped cream, and cherries on top. It was a fun experience to be shared and I'm glad we got to try it before it's taken off the menu. The only seating is outside; the inside is strictly for ordering, merchandise display, and picking up. Everyone working there is cheerful and they are flexible in customizing orders.
