About
Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters building, is dedicated to another fine master craft: bold American food. Under the direction of Executive Chef Mike Ellis, the menu not only stars the best American artisan beef cuts like an aged Angus Rib-eye "Cowboy" Steak but updated locally sourced seafood dishes, like Chesapeake Bay Oysters and Soft Shell Crab Fritto Misto. Much more than a steakhouse, the timelessly stylish restaurant moves the political power meetings out of the back room and into private dining spaces, sleek enclaves of dark wood. Located off the wide, open expanse of the National Mall, Charlie Palmer’s Steak’s rooftop terrace can accommodate 400 guests, offering the city’s most impressive view of the Capitol.

Private room was set up perfectly thanks to General Manager’s responsiveness to our last minute requests with a simple “We can make that happen!”. Angelo’s service was a clear demonstration of his 25+ years of experience. And, the special access to the roof top patio...More

Really enjoyed my meal here. Very classy atmosphere, brighter than most high-end steakhouses and tables are not too close together so easier to hear conversation with others at the table than in most other restaurants

Super disappointing. We had been here a few years back and thought it was tasty, but on our most recent return it was subpar in almost all respects. Our waiter didn't discuss the menu at all - usually at a steak house, they want to...More

Love the vibe of this place -- airy, sleek, modern design and wonderful lunchtime view of Capitol Hill. Terrific service, too. More importantly, you're virtually guaranteed a tremendous meal. The bill can give you sticker shock, but you really can't go wrong with any menu...More

Ordered the $120 Wagu Steak as recommended by the over enthusiastic and condescending staff. Destinctly average experience. My advice give it a swerve and eat elsewhere

We came to Charlie Palmers the night after having dined at another very famous DC steakhouse that was spectacular. We felt the bar was set pretty high and so were hesitant to bother comparing. WE HAD OUR SOCKS BLOWN OFF! We celebrated my wife’s 50th...More
