When people are queueing at lunch time - this is a sign for a popular and good eatery. Well, my friend picked the place and booked for lunch on a busy day at the World Bank HQ, so we were promptly seated and the menu...More

Want an authentic American meal? Look no further than Founding Farmers. I live a little over an hour away, and will be returning to the area just to eat at this establishment again. The food is great, and the location is ideal. Take a short...More

Stylish interior, large picture windows, solid modern take on American classics, great service. For the price this is as good as it gets. Beware, the news has got around and the place fills up early on Saturdays and Sundays. We couldn't get a table on...More

Best brunch in DC! Plan ahead and make a reservation. We did that and walked right past everyone else who did not make one. We started off brunch with a spicy Bloody Mary; tasty, but did not taste very strong (alcohol-wise). We then tried the...More

My husband and I went here on recommendation of a friend. We were surprised that we had to wait 45 minutes for a table being it was a Monday night but it was worth the wait. All the items from the menu are made from...More

After a segway tour, I came here. Get the chicken and waffles. Comes with green beans, white gravy, and pasta with cheese sauce. $17 before tax and tip.

Needed a place close to IMF during the World Bank Annual Meeting for a business lunch. Reservation faithfully honored in spite of hoard of folks at the door. Server was understanding of short time available and helped select entrees that would be fast so we...More

My second visit as a tourist and food was memorably great....creative and well-executed. Varied menu and all home made. Always busy even at off hours...that speaks to a well-run, good-food restaurant. Make reservation if possible.

The place was packed so clearly doing something right, but it's not the food. Sat at the bar and the service was good. Ordered fish and chips- fish was catfish and not particularly appetizing. And the chips were half crisps and the chips that there...More

One of the few places in DC serving food until late (midnight) on Friday and Saturday nights. Good American / international fare out of quality local ingredients. Can get very busy during peak times. Ice cream is excellent.

Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
