This restaurant, situated in the Jewish quarter of Krakow, really went out of its way to create a wonderful dining experience for me and my friends.
There was a great welcome from Kristov, a thorough explanation of the menu and absolutely wonderful food cooked beautifully by their chef, with an amazing Polish Rose to compliment the flavours.
There was a great atmosphere sitting outside listening to the music playing and we had such a lovely evening we revisited later in our stay.
I would definitely recommend this very reasonably priced restaurant.

We ordered 2 main courses and one tartare. The antricote was very tasty, and I was also pleasantly surprised by the sweet potato. My friends were also delighted with their dishes. I really liked the service, the waitress was very friendly. I would like to note separately that it was interesting to hear from the waitress a detailed description of our dishes after serving.
Desserts were also at a very high level, both taste and decoration.
I would strongly recommend this restaurant!!!

Very nice place with great atmosphere. Food was beautifully served, very tasty (especially duck with fig sauce and Zander with black risotto, ones of the best dishes we've eaten in a while). Service was professional and very polite. We will visit this place again for sure! I can definitely recommend this restaurant!

We had a great experience in this restaurant. The food was delicious, and a very serviceminded waiter gave us lots of information on the food and drink. Great place to taste different kinds of vodka. I didn't know vodka could taste this way! I warmly recommend this place!

My parents and I were looking for somewhere nice to eat on our last night and we were not disappointed coming across Baster. The service was excellent and waitress explained in detail each course. The sharing board for starter and soups all came with homemade bread and bread sticks. The mains full of flavour, with the schnitzel being the best my Mum ever had. Thank you for a lovely last meal we will be back

I selected this place because it was close to my hotel and the reviews here were great. And I want to admit, the place is marvelous. It is a small 8 or 10-table restaurant placed in 1 room. The interior is nice and cosy. You need to book table for dinner beforehand, at least one day prior. The menu is short but really delicious. We took beef tartar, then veal schnizel, and black pasta with prawns. All dishes very amazingly good and tasty. The vine card is also picked with a great taste. I can also highly recommend draft bottled beer with the same name - Baster. The service was also tremendous. All servants speak English well and explain to you every detail from the menu and every dish. I spent wonderful evening and can recommend this restaurant with no doubts as an outstanding place in Krakow.

Interesting mixture of traditional Polish cuisine and international influences. Everybody in our group was happy with food, especially guys that like beef tartare.
If you want to try various vodkas, there was a good selection and staff members were very competent if you needed an advice.

I don’t even know where to start. So I’ll begin with this. If you have the possibility to go to Bastet do it. I’ll write about the food first, but the most important part about this restaurant is the service. Martin/Mathew you were fenomenal and made the entire experience exceptional.
We called for a reservation and were welcomed after a short walk though te park. Away from the busy street. Cute lights welcomed us.
The restaurant itself has comfortable seating and a nice decor. Not luxurious but not simple. A small little place that you will be glad you visited. (The bar though looks Great and is complimented by nice looking glass cabinets).
Our server recommended food (herring, beef cheeks, ribs and duck breast. The food was amazing and Michelin worthy. The product used were of great quality and the food pairings (lavendel sauce for example) were mouthwatering. My partner admin couldn’t decide who had the best dish each course so we just shared everything. Apart from the food our waiter also recommended drinks with the food based on our preference. Delicious cocktails that also looked stunning.
The food was amazing and the drinks tasted divine. But what did it for is was our server/waiter Martin/Mathew. He went above and beyond to show us food and drinks. Told us stories about foodpairings and the restaurant. He also told us a lot about our drinks. What made them special? Why were they truly polish? Everything he did with a smile from ear to ear. He was there as soon as we even had a thought about wanting the next course or have a drink. (Did I say he spoke perfect English?)
The food and drink were truly something special, but the staff made our experience truly special. Thank you!

I’ve been in Baster two times, the first experience was not the best because of some issues with the bill. But I really appreciated the action of the owner which pro-actively solved the issue. So we decided to go back there with pleasure.
Food in Baster is really really good, we loved all the dishes so far, maybe the steak could be more tender. But duck and chicken were super delicious as well as the goat grilled cheese as appetizer.
One evening was the birthday of my girlfriend and they prepared an incredible delicious chocolate cake with reminded totally the “setteveli” cake which we have in Sicily!! <3
One applause to the chef to make so well this really complex chocolate cake (7 layers of different chocolates) especially for our event (isn’t in the menu).
Definitely we will go back. Thanks :)

Based on the great ratings we decided to have a team dinner here. We ordered through the almost the complete menu, but would say in general that the food was average. Especially compared to other Kazimierz gems quite standard.
Although we were the only one eating Service was moderate on that, it just seems that they were rather happy to close the day and to let us go.
One warning: although asked on the same day for an invoice we have still to received any company invoice after three months and discussion with the manager. We therefore warn to host company events here.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am sorry you were not completely happy with your experience at our Restaurant. Nevertheless I must ask that you remove harmful and untrue comments about our business. We issue invoices to our costomers every day, also to companies based in other countries (this is done by Managers as Servers are not authirised to issue international invoices for obviour resons). I understand there is some kind of dispute about your invoice for which I am sorry, but it does not give you the right to damage our reputation by writing spiteful and misleading comments. I am more than happy to contact your company personally in order to clarify the situation.

Perfect dining experience. The food was delicious and the cocktails and craft beers are also a must. The wine menu was excellent and the best we’d seen in Krakow during our entire visit. Also caters well to pescatarians and vegetarians.
Excellent service from our friendly waiter who took the time to explain every dish to us before serving and this really added to the dining experience.
Great ambience with a cosy atmosphere. Cannot recommend this place enough. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

We called 90mins prior and got a reservation. I'd recommend you call before as when we got there, all the tables were reserved. The staff were great and also spoke English which was very helpful for us. The menu looked great but we chose the sharing platter to start (huge for 2 people) and then had the duck dish, plus the pork ribs. Both were delicious. We had 2 sides to share of potato wedges and grilled vegetables. The potato wedges were honestly the best we've ever had. We were also given a complimentary starter of hummus with some garnish which was delicious.
A great way to start our first night in Krakow.

Visiting Krakau we wanted to dine on local fayre so pre booked the restaurant for an evening meal. The restaurant has a warm, cosy rustic feel and was close to our hotel in the Jewish quarter of Krakau.
Staff were very friendly and complementary Polish Vodka on arrival was well received.
The menu offers a Selection of traditional Polish dishes at very reasonable prices. We all chose different starter and main dishes from the menu and had no complaints as the food was delicious with good size portions. Deserts were also very nice, in particular the Strudel.
A very nice evening which led us to book a repeat visit for the following evening which was an equally good experience. Many thanks; Keep up the good work.

Service was incredible and extremely attentive.
Food was lovely, couldn’t fault it. I had vegan and partner had mushrooms and presentation was outstanding and so delicious. Service was speedy too.
Wine and water delicious
Value for money outstanding
10/10 would come back - one to visit for Sure!

This is a great little restaurant. You will need to book in advance in busy times.
The food is fantastic.
I had the goose and apple dumplings with plum sauce and my husband ordered the pork knuckle. Both were beautiful.
We were given a complimentary amuse bouche which was a beetroot hummus and also shots afterwards as well.
Prices are really cheap.
If your looking for beautiful polish food this is a must.
