Great, attentive service, top menu and the three pizzas, plus pasta dish we had could not be faulted. One of Ballarat's best choices, we say.

This restaurant has a beautiful ambience, however, the service was very average. The pizzas are not really big for the price we paid for them.

We had calamari entree (perfectly cooked on the grill - yum!); followed by pizzas & a prawn main off the specials board - all were excellent. The wine list is not extensive & I think overblown price-wise for what is after all just a pizza...More

I would have to say the Pizza we had here would go very close to being one of the best Pizzas we have ever eaten! It was truly amazing! Aranccin balls were pretty amazing too!

Delicious freshly made pizza dough topped with quality ingredients and baked in a genuine wood fired oven - the Forge pizzas are soooo delicious! The restaurant itself is rusticly stylish with both communal and private tables. The only negative is that sometimes it gets a...More

Considering the price you pay for most of the food here, they skimp on the portion size. A main is barely entree size and not enough food for a dinner. Just a couple of spoonfuls more would bring it up to acceptable. Glass of wine...More

We have been back several times! This is a superb place to go for pizza in Ballarat. The selection of pizzas on the menu changes up a little bit each time. Some superb stock standard faves too. Excellent selection of wine and beer to choose...More

I was looking for somewhere to enjoy a wood fired pizza, something with a great mix of pizzas that move away from the standard margarita and certainly don’t have Hawaiian as an option, this place didn’t disappoint. There are pasta options as well as some...More

The pizzas at The Forge are pretty decent, but often a bit soggy and nowhere near the standard of the best places in Melbourne. For how much they charge it should just be better.

Being so cold outside, it was lovely to walk in to such a warm and cosy place. Staff met me and seated me pretty quickly, and I was able to order pretty soon. I ordered the special on that particular day, a lamb shank pie...More

Our grandfather Frank was a well-known Blacksmith in the Ballarat region, and at the heart of a Blacksmith's shop is a fire they call the Forge. With a combination of the fire, great skill and plenty of hard work, great things are created. Take a look at our wood fire oven and you'll know why we are "The Forge". Established in 2010 by brothers Chris and Tim Matthews, The Forge Pizzeria creates delicious woodfired pizzas made with fresh local produce and high quality deli ingredients. We pride ourselves on pizza perfection, passion and a fun laid-back atmosphere. There is a fully serviced 200 seat restaurant in Armstrong Street, Central Ballarat, which complements the 20 seat take-away store in Sturt Street, Alfredton. We also now have two rolling mobile pizza ovens which operate at various events and private functions. Once your pizza is ordered, its action a plenty. Using our fresh healthy dough recipe, the stretcher starts stretching the base, great viewing in itself. The makers add the right amount of ingredients, which have all been freshly prepared on our premises, into the woodfire oven and then the magic happens. Fresh, healthy and woodfired.
