Visited with a friend, who recommended the restaurant. Enjoyed a beautiful wood-fired pizza after watching it be prepared.

I was not long in Ballarat, but I heard (and confirmed) this is definitely the place for pizza! Buffalo mozzarella and italian sausage with field greens. Yum, Yum, Yum. By the way, pretty much no problem eating the whole pizza myself (!) so order accordingly...More

We eat from the Forge probably once per month and every single time it is consistent, high quality pizza prepared to an excellent standard. The price is high, but the food is worth it!

We visited on a Saturday night for a family birthday, we had booked and it was very busy. Atmosphere great, food delicious and service good. Although pizza is the specialty, there were plenty of other options for non pizza eaters. We brought along our own...More

We were pushed for time so ordered some takeout. No problem with the really helpful staff. Even when I forgot to order extra salami several minutes later, it was all taken care of at no extra charge. The pizzas were fresh and delicious.... Highly recommended...More

We had dinner here and had the pizza with bacon and pork crackling what a ripper. The staff were fantastic with great service and we didn’t have to wait long for our pizza either. The place has history and the history is part of the...More

As visitors to Ballarat we asked around to see which eateries were popular, as restaurants which are highly patronised by locals usually indicate a good outcome. Forge Pizzeria certainly has strong popular local acclaim, and although we were satisfied, it could be better. Accessibility is...More

We had one night in Ballarat and had had a tiring day at Sovereign Hill and were hungry. Our daughter knew of this pizzeria so off we went...it is terrific; simple décor, a live atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent service and a choice of delicious pizzas...More

We chose here just walking past and what a great decision! The garlic pizza is excellent. Full of flavour & slightly burnt bits with a fresh tomato sauce. The kids had pasta, which both devoured & the steak and accompaniments were all delicious. Fast, friendly...More

We're not usually pizza eaters (like them, but only occasionally), but went here as it was only a couple of doors down from our motel. It was a Friday night - they were doing a great trade in takeaways! But a few of us ate...More

Our grandfather Frank was a well-known Blacksmith in the Ballarat region, and at the heart of a Blacksmith's shop is a fire they call the Forge. With a combination of the fire, great skill and plenty of hard work, great things are created. Take a look at our wood fire oven and you'll know why we are "The Forge". Established in 2010 by brothers Chris and Tim Matthews, The Forge Pizzeria creates delicious woodfired pizzas made with fresh local produce and high quality deli ingredients. We pride ourselves on pizza perfection, passion and a fun laid-back atmosphere. There is a fully serviced 200 seat restaurant in Armstrong Street, Central Ballarat, which complements the 20 seat take-away store in Sturt Street, Alfredton. We also now have two rolling mobile pizza ovens which operate at various events and private functions. Once your pizza is ordered, its action a plenty. Using our fresh healthy dough recipe, the stretcher starts stretching the base, great viewing in itself. The makers add the right amount of ingredients, which have all been freshly prepared on our premises, into the woodfire oven and then the magic happens. Fresh, healthy and woodfired.
