Country restaurants seem to have a practice of over charging the locals for what you would expect to get in a major city for much less. There really is no excuse for charging so much when the overheads are far lower in the country. Meals...were delicious but small and therefore not worth the price paid, despite that i rated the place 4 because the attentive service was really outstanding.More

We tried Bernardi's for the first time for my birthday this year and we will certainly be going back again. Straight up the service was excellent and the food...OMG...to die for. It made sense at the end of the evening when we were talking to...the owner and he told us his mother was the chef. He should be very proud of his mother - she is an excellent chef. We had the pana di casa - and the bread was excellent. Then we shared the aracini and the zucchini flowers - the best we have ever tasted. For mains it was veal scallopini with potato and peas - I have had a lot of veal scallopini and this was among the best I have ever tasted. My dining partner had the slow cooked greek lamb (brilliant) with lemon potatoes and vegetables. Stuffed, as we were we braved dessert. I was boring and had the frangellico adffogato, but he had the orange cake and said it was as close to heaven as he has come. Seriously - try this place. It is in the restaurant row down near the WIN Stadium and if there is a place here that you need to take seriously - this is it. Prices are highly reasonable.More

We selected six dishes from the relatively small menu and were very pleased by each one. We like to walk away from a restaurant feeling happy and satisfied and Bernardis made sure we achieved that. Each menu item we tried was tasty, well prepared and...presented. The service was efficient and friendly. We are going back again !More

We came across this restaurant on our way to WIN Entertainment Centre for a show. They asked if we were going there and knew we would be time limited. The menu looked interesting and described a mix of Greek/Italian infusion. I had the lamb which...lacked flavour. My wife had rissotto which she enjoyed. The lamb was tender and the side of veges excellent but I had to salt and pepper the lamb fue to lack of flavour. It's a pricey place to eat but will be back to savour the flavour and relax longer while eatingMore

We loved this restaurant. The Greek dishes we had were delicious, well cooked and superb flavours. We all had little tastings of Garlic Ciabatta, Kalamata olives, Zuchine flowers stuffed with goat's cheese, Octopus Krasato, Veal Scaloppine, Beef Stifado and Verdre were all declared absolutely scrumptious....We were unanimous in our vote for best dessert as the custard layered filo pastry with saffron syrup and poached pear, it was all we had. Freindly careful service, crisp white table cloths a delight.More

My husband and I love to experience eating at different restaurants, and I don't often take the time to write restaurant reviews, but Bernardis on Crown well exceeded our expectations. We dined here the night before Valentine's Day as an early celebration. Looking at the...menu and not being able to choose ourselves we decided to trust the Chef's Selection for a 3 course dinner. We were expecting to be served 2 of the same dish at each course but to our delight there were 6 different dishes in total for entrée, main and dessert. All were delicious and the staff very tentative making sure we were enjoying our meals. We would highly recommend this restaurant to our friends.More

My husband and I had dinner here last night. It was the first time we had been here and it will definitely not be the last. White tablecloths, but not necessarily a sophisticated space. Relaxed but attentive service. We had the zucchini flowers (the Neapolitan...version with a touch of anchovy) and the ravioli entrees. The zucchini flowers were perfectly cooked in a tempura batter, not oily at all, and the tiny zucchini still crunchy. The ravioli was a rich dish and generous in size. Probably too generous, in fact, for my husband, but he demolished it regardless. We chose the slow cooked lamb shoulder and veal scaloppine for mains. Both were beautifully cooked and presented. The lamb was meltingly tender, as you would expect. It could have had a little more jus with it, I thought, but it was not fatty at all, as lamb can be. Lemony potatoes were an excellent accompaniment. The veal was good too, and plentiful. We had an Italian Barbera to accompany the meal, which was a good choice. I liked that after pouring the first glass for each of us the waiter was happy for us to choose our own pace and top up ourselves (I hate the way many places keep filling the glass after two sips in the hope you will finish the bottle quickly and buy another). Can't report on dessert as we did not have room!More

Delicious, beautifully presented food. So much attention to detail in flavours and plating. Wonderfully attentive staff and a lovely bottle of wine. What more could you ask for? Perfect New Years Eve.

Dining with a group of friends, some ordered only mains so had to wait over an hour for their food as some had ordered entree's so were very hungry by the time theirs came along. Although the food was tasty it was way over priced...and some dishes very disappointing. Drinks were way over priced as well. not a place we will be eating at any time soonMore

We looked at the menu and really couldn't pick what to have so we took the "Trust the Chef" option. What a brilliant idea. We were served three courses (alternate dishes) and we happily shared each others plates. Every dish was divine. Unfortunately we couldn't...finish all the dessert but it was not a reflection on the quality - just the quantity.More

Went there tonight for our wedding anniversary and was pleasantly surprised. My wife and I enjoyed our meals and the waitress was extremely polite and courteous. It was a great joy not to feel pressured to leave once we finished our meals. The staff where...not hovering around trying to push us out the door and allowed us to sit for a while and enjoy the evening. I'll be going backMore
