This place came on our radar years ago when we found Movida's cookbook in a specialty cookbook store. And then we strayed across Bar Pulpo at Tullamarine in transit. Finally, on our second night actually in Melbourne wandering down a narrow lane, we stumbled across...More

Movida is the place to go if you're in Melbourne. Myself and my partner have been numerous times and always can't wait to go back. One of our favourite restaurants in Melbourne. Sometimes we dress up for a dinner date and sangria, other times we...More

The worst portion of food I’ve had. The tapas were microscopic in size and the charcuterie worse if a couple of pieces of salami are to your liking. Will never go back who are they kidding👎

Great location, fun restaurant and tasty food. This place was recommended to us by a friend, but our experience was ruined by an exceptionally rude female bartender (light coloured buzz cut). The restaurant was a bit busy when we came, so I imagine that tempers...More

Hosier lane is such a beautiful location for this tiny but vibrant tapas bar. The service was exceptional- they assisted us with ordering and portion sizes. The food came out quickly and was mouth watering. We had to share a table but still feel we...More

Very Modern Spanish cuisine, although it was different type of Spanish Food and must admit it did nothing for my palette 🎨 I think I would stick to more traditional Spanish cooking 🥘. If you want something different then by all means go for it...More

Movida never fails to impress. Serial visitor and serial lover of the food! Good for small groups, but always see a few solo diners there too!

We had fantastic tapas here. The food was so tasty and presentation was nice. Also liked that the tapas arrived fresh when it was ready rather than all at once, it gave us a chance to enjoy each dish. Good lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Hi, as the other travellers have said the menu changes regularly. Best to go online close to the time you book a table and check. Better still, call and talk to the helpful and friendly staff.

When we opened the doors to MoVida in Hosier lane, Melbourne in 2003 no one knew what to expect. Here was this little bar on a graffiti covered cobbled lane near the cathedral serving Spanish tapas and shared plates in a down lit room playing funky tunes. It's the kind of place you can come in for a beer and a jamon croquetta at the bar and then move across to a table and share a plate of slow braised lamb, some patatas a lo pobre and down some seriously good Spanish red wine.
