We arrived on time for an 8:30 booking but the table was still occupied. No problem just move next door to the adjoining wine bar which was great. Back 20 min later for dinner. The staff were great and that’s about all I can say...More

This restaurant is tiny and intimate. Not ideal for big groups. Food was great despite a limited menus. The service is excellent.

Many times we tried to get in just to be treated by arrogant staff very poorly but after many people said it was good, we finally made the plunge and booked 6 weeks out for 2 at the original in Hosier lane. We said to...More

Ok environment, nearly funky! Staff were nice, and they stayed professional even when busy. The food is grossly overpriced for what you get. A potato for nearly five dollars, a ox cheek, part of $30.00 someone is taking the Mickey! Was it tasty, no not...More

Have been there in several occasions and would recommend new visitors to go. I didn't like the signature anchovy tapas that much, but absolutely loved air dried Wagyu and mackerel sorbet. It's a shame they don't serve any paella. (Movida aqui does but not that...More

Good spot, good food, good wine, buzzy vibe. Nice Tempranillo with tasty tapas, tostadas with quail eggs, and croquettes, service great, nice start to weekend.

A very intimate and personalised dinner with great wine and gin selection to meet most tastes and to compliment whatever you choose. The tapas and seasonal special options were fantastic and the beef cheek with Cauliflower puree deserves a very special mention - amazing.

We had to hold back our laughter when the food was served. You would need a microscope to find it on the plate. How embarrassing for the staff. Menu said “stuffed quail” they forgot to add it’s a tasteless quail leg. Can you visualise the...More

Visited for a business dinner and ordered a mix of tapas and share plates. Food was exceptional. Accommodated for the vegetarian on our table with all food beautifully served and for the five of us. Cannot fault the service, it was spot on. Will definitely...More

Movida is definitely worth a visit! The staff are very knowledgeable, extensive wine list and the food is fantastic - my favourite was the anchoa.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Hi, as the other travellers have said the menu changes regularly. Best to go online close to the time you book a table and check. Better still, call and talk to the helpful and friendly staff.

When we opened the doors to MoVida in Hosier lane, Melbourne in 2003 no one knew what to expect. Here was this little bar on a graffiti covered cobbled lane near the cathedral serving Spanish tapas and shared plates in a down lit room playing funky tunes. It's the kind of place you can come in for a beer and a jamon croquetta at the bar and then move across to a table and share a plate of slow braised lamb, some patatas a lo pobre and down some seriously good Spanish red wine.
