Supernormal is a busy Japanese themed menu located in the heart of Flinders Lane. While the food is Japanese flavoured, the extensive wine list is drawn from much further afield. We indulged in French champagne and Spanish table wine. The food here is best eaten...More

This really is beyond normal. Delicious food, funky atmosphere and great service. Worth a visit ... tastebud sensations offered by flavours and combinations. As a vegetarian there are some good choices and the menu is flexible to offer a wider range of vegetarian options.

Great location and ambience. As we were 7 people we had the choice of 2 banqueting menus. Both had a good selection of dishes and were well balanced. One of our friends cannot eat seafood and good alternatives were provided to match the rest of...More

This restaurant was a stop on a walk through Melbourne with a local food critic. We were there for lunch. The restaurant has a fun vibe, and the food was excellent, including the dumplings. Because of the open concept seating, the noise level is a...More

Has the head chef lost his/her mind? I travel all the way from Los Angeles ready for the greatest dish in all of Australia....and it's gone??? You CANNOT be serious. Think we need a general boycott until they bring that back. I mean what's the...More

We did a banquet here after doing Chin Chin banquet the night before, and I have to say there are quite a few similarities - luckily I love Asian food! The lobster roll was particularly good. Was a fun place to go with friends. Was...More

This restaurant was recommended by our daughter and it was excellent. We had 3 dishes and the first two were delicious and spicy which probably reduced our enjoyment of the third which was also delightful in flavor but very mild, The staff were very knowledgeable...More

Fine dining with a twist! Supernormal has a slightly quirky but very tasty menu for someone who wants a great meal that's a little bit different. Can be a bit noisy.

I visited this restaurant on recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately I was very disappointed when I visited there on Saturday night. The dishes we ordered were very hit and miss. My husband & I loved the New England lobster roll & the raw tuna. The...More

One my own in Melbourne Supernormal was recommended to me as 'a good place to go on your own'. I wasn't disappointed - great food - really interesting options. They also offered me 'half serves' so I could try different things. It made a great...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

I don't know if you could book; I got a bar table w/o waiting. Having been there it's not a place that's worth waiting for.

I have been on both a Saturday and Sunday evening - not super quiet but definitely not what I would call noisy :) Then again, I am one of five children, so maybe my noise threshold is a little bit too high! :P
