We eat a lot of Thai food, and this is among the best that we have had. Very light and flavorful. Everything was wonderful.

We went for the $69 menu and were underwhelmed. The entrees were nice and complemented each other. The Massaman curry was watery and tasteless- although beef well cooked. The pork belly was nice as was the cauliflower. The dessert was rubbery and disappointing. Sparkling water...not replenished. Overall not worth the money they're charging.More
Had a lovely meal before we attended P!nk. Staff welcoming and attentive. Food was full of flavour and we enjoyed every dish we ordered.
Disappointing. I don't know why people like this place. The vegetarian meals are bland and forgettable. Will not return
We attended a reunion dinner at this restaurant recently. One of our key criteria was to have a private function room to allow us to mingle and enjoy each other’s company. Tick. The food was very good and the servings were adequate. We didn’t leave...feeling hungry. Pass. We also had a two hour drink package, which looked appealing. We were in the clock from the moment that the first drink was poured. This was about 10 minutes before the main party arrived. Just before the two hours ended, when one of our party asked for a glass of white wine, she was informed that there was no white wine opened. This was miserly behaviour at best. Sorry, a fail. We had a good night and it could have been much better.More
Used to be excellent! Was so poor that half the meal we didn’t eat, the quality of the food was terrible. Sad decline for a restaurant that was amazing. Even the new building was an awful experience, so noisy you can’t hold much of a...conversation.More
Sadly this place disappointed my tastebuds. Food was nothing worth raving about. I ordered a beef curry and it came within 10 minutes which was quite surprising as the beef was too tender to be cooked in such a short space of time. I definitely...got the impression they had it cooked much earlier and simply heated it in the microwave and brought it out which is not acceptable if the food is at such high prices! Rice was the same; didn’t taste fresh at all. Just microwaved from earlier. The beef was also under salted which again is surprising for such a well presented restaurant. Service was not good, our waiter, although really pleasant and friendly, was too busy to tend to us and it took a good 20 minutes between waiting for the bill and finally paying. Vibe was ok and aesthetic is cool. Felt like a Chinese fusion place in New York.More
I can't tell you how much we loved the food. We had the basic banquet and could not eat it all. The problem was it was all so delicious, we did not want to leave any! I tried dishes as part of the banquet I...thought I would not enjoy and to my suprise loved them.More
Amazing food and atmosphere. Ate here on a Saturday night. 6 of us had a banquet. The food was delicious, fresh and full of flavour. I would definitely go back.
Went to Red Spice Road with a couple of friends. Shared a few dishes and all were pretty good. Ordered lamb ribs, pork belly, barramundi and steamed rice. However, the barramundi we ordered included two very very small pieces of fish (it was on the...menu as a large plate and cost $44 from memory). I was kind of wondering if this was error and they forgot to fill up the plate, if not then it is an absolute rip. Do not order it for yourself as a main as it is an entree size at best. I also ordered a cocktail special that was so potent I could not drink it - not at all nice, they did however add something to it to make it taste a bit better - it was not great but I could drink it at least. Overall I do not feel the need to come back - I have been many times before and I am happy to pay for decent food but I felt a bit ripped off. I did provide feedback but received no response.More
Long time Red Spice Road fan here. Had the Motorbike Set Menu. Three of the six dishes (betel leaf prawn, bacon and corn coquette and the pork belly) were excellent and could not be faulted. As usual the pork belly is the establishment's best dish....The karaage cauliflower was flavourful but lacked the crunchy texture of a karaage dish. On the other hand, the beef cheek saraman curry had a lovely melt-in-the-mouth texture but lacked seasoning required for a rich thai curry. The most disappointing dish of the night was the passionfruit pannacotta and pandan ice cream. Whilst the flavours were great, the textures of pannacotta and ice cream were too hard, making the dish a less than a pleasant eating experience. Overrall, the dishes which were not great had issues with texture. There were no issues with flavours. Once again, Red Spice Road knows how to bring the best flavours in its ingredients. The set menus are a good way to introduce yourself to Red Spice Road many dishes. I look forward to returning and having my favourite pork belly dish in Melbourne.More
You just can't go past the Motorbike banquet and this incredible restaurant. Each mouthful of food is a taste sensation.
Returned for dinner for an annual special occasion. We had the tuk tuk 8 course banquet. We enjoyed prawn betel leaf, bacon, corn & tom yum croquette, cured salmon, chicken pomelo salad, cauliflower karaage, beef cheek, pork belly & passionfruit pannacotta. I also enjoyed a...few lychee martinis. All the food was delicious with so many punchy fresh flavours. This remains one of my favourite city restaurants. Highly recommend & definitely go one of the banquet options for the best variety of food. Service friendly.More
I enjoyed Red Spice Road. Sate and gado gado were delicious. The portions and prices were good. Friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant's decor is lovely and historic. Asian food and wine lovers should try Red Spice Road.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Plus the decor is lovely and the food delicious. We had a girl’s lunch and chose the five dishes lunch option. (We almost ate it all, but not quite. The three dishes option wouldn’t have been enough). Out...of all of the dishes I would say the rockling and the lamb were the highlights. I often find it hard to hear others on my table in restaurants, but despite the high ceiling and wooden floors we had no trouble hearing each other at Red Spice, which was a great relief. (Although we did start lunch quite late which meant it was less crowded).More
