Exceptional produce presented beautifully and all tasted delicious. I would actually give it 4.5 stars if I could as I found some inconsistency with staff. However, this would not prevent me from recommending it wholeheartedly if your requirements are Michelin star at Michelin prices. We were seated outside at the back of the restaurant and I would advise arriving in the dark so as not to see or feel the car park to the left & light road to the right. The restaurant was only seating outside & it was full with at least 12/14 tables booked. Once darkness came it was more atmospheric.

This is a supreme restaurant. It is now firmly on our must go to restaurants when we visit the area. Willie the Michelin award chef has always been there and had a chat with our group at the end of the service which is a lovely end to the night. The team that Willie has around him look after you so well being very knowledgable , helpful and have great personalities which makes the whole experience so enjoyable. Our group of 9 visited last Wednesday and everyone one of us are still talking about brilliant the experience is. The maitre d’ and sommelier are brilliant coordinating everything you would like exactly when you need/want it. This is a very special place which we feel lucky to have found. I keep having the lamb because it’s so good! I had the creme brûlée which was wonderful. Everyone one of our group felt experience is actually good value as a number of other restaurants are similarly priced but not offering that level of food and service. Thank to the team for a brilliant night. Date of dining Wednesday 15th May 2024

A perfect dinner, we were here with our teenage children. We all had something different and it was all amazing. The service whilst formal was excellent. We did not feel rushed at all and we thought for what we ate and the quality of the food and drink it was good value.

We have been going to Willies since it opened over 20 years ago and went most recently last Thursday. We have never had anything other than an exquisite meal and last week was no exception - this time I had the foie gras followed by the prawn curry. My wife had the ravioli (my usual) followed by the lamb chops. All wonderfully presented & works of art in their own way. Pricewise yes it is not cheap but actually I think it is very good value - after all Willie is a Michelin starred chef (& it shows) and the amuse bouche plus bits add to the value - a lovely ambience. So no complaints. This visit we went twice and wish we it could have been more. In London you could add 50% to our bill!!

We went here for my dads birthday at the very start of June, and despite choosing to walk the 20 minute walk up from the marina, it was so so so worth it. It was definitely the best culinary experience we’ve ever had in Vilamoura, and coming from Dublin, it seemed extremely reasonable price wise for the quality of the food, service and setting. The food is so well thought out and balanced and we all enjoyed everything we ate, always a plus to feel like you got to try loads of different things (even dessert) and not leave feeling uncomfortably full. The service was super attentive but not at all overbearing, and we just had such a nice evening sitting outside on the little terrace. It also has an entirely different setting than all of the restaurants down towards the marina, and it felt like a completely different location, which was refreshing. We were only disappointed that we wouldn’t have got a booking to return twice in our ten day holiday, because it was absolutely that good. I would never go to Vilamoura without visiting this restaurant now.

Excellent, both in terms of menu and service. The evening was an experience and not just a dinner whilst on holiday. The menu selection was varied and catered for all tastes. My wife does not eat fish and this was not an issue at all. The quality of food was excellent and we enjoyed every course. All of the team went out of their way to help and made you feel very welcome. It was evident that a number of the guests had been before and I assure you that when we return to the area, we will be back. Thank you to those front of house and those you did not see, in the kitchen, for an excellent evening and perfect meal.

Visited Willies for a joint 30th/60th so had varying ages in our group. Decor was very traditional/old school and whilst some have mentioned that it’s dated, I think it’s all part of the charm not to feel pressured to go modern and minimalistic. Loved the extra touches such as separate stool for bags, and giving menus to the females first etc. little things which are often overlooked these days. Food was wonderful. I had scallops followed by the fillet steak (melt in the mouth) and shared a dessert as the courses were so well proportioned. No stuffiness about sharing. Wine was not stupidly priced either. With 3 courses, wine, beer and water the bill was €100 a head with a decent tip included. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening out. The staff had the right mix of professionalism and humour so that you knew you were somewhere special, but felt relaxed too. Willies didn’t disappoint. Thank you

I went with friends. They eat out 5 or 6 nights a week and I would class them as “foodies”. The staff here, like everywhere else we ate out, take ‘things’ very seriously, indeed. They like to introduce every single morsel to you in detail and lord help you if you interrupt. Since returning I have asked 2 or 3 people who have holidayed on the Algarve about the Portuguese welcome In restaurants and uniformly everyone said it’s almost as if they don’t want you there. Not quite as bad at Willies but they are somewhat rigid in their approach. I like to put it down to professionalism and a desire to ‘do it correctly’ but it’s a bit intense. A lighter touch would be welcome. That said the food was superb and I would certainly go again.

We had the pleasure of enjoying both meat dishes (veal with chanterelle sauce) and fish (sole). Special mention for the exceptional lemon sauce of this last dish. The service was high quality and multilingual. The meal is decorated with appetizers and dessert. We were surprised by the quantity of these quality dishes. Excellent Value for Award.

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and it was truly excellent. It is not in the Marina area but do not let that put you off, the Restaurant is in a quiet area and has outdoor and indoor seating. From the very first welcome you could feel that the meal and whole experience was going to be great. We ordered pre dinner drinks and these came to our table at just the right time before the meal We were eating outside but the owner said if we felt chilly there were covers for us ( we didn't need them) The food was excellent, Scallops to start, Monk fish and I cant recall the dessert but all served to perfection. The Sommelier recommended a good wine to accompany the meal. At all times the owner and staff were attentive and enjoyed a joke with you. We were not rushed and felt that this was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. If you visit Vilamoura this is a restaurant you must visit.

Appalling service The food was amazing except for the main dish which was very salty. When we complained, there was no apology - the head waiter said they all thought it was fine, and no other customer had conplained (supposedly), so it was only our opinion that it was salty and no apology, no gesture was offered. Then the chef shortly came over and reiterated what the waiter said that, in his opinion the dish was fine and that we had a different opinion and that he disagrees. We are the customers and are the ones paying for the food and to be treated like this is unacceptable. Don’t these people know about customer service ? Is this really a michelin star restaurant? We initially thought the headwaiter was quirky and funny and then it turned out that he was rude when he refused to acknowledge that we had an issue with our dish. And then he had the nerve to ask whether we were leaving a tip ! Such a scandal - won’t be back.

Michelin-started restaurant, worth its distinction. White glove, attentive service. We were treated to beautifully crafted starters and dessert in addition to the appetizer and entrees we ordered. Everything perfectly presented, delicate and delicious. It’s a small, charming venue. Special occasion dining and right next to the Hilton As Cascatas Resort. Highly recommend!

We visited Willies to celebrate my husband’s Birthday. Having eaten at this restaurant two years ago we had high hopes that our visit would be as good as before. This, unfortunately, was not the case. We arrived slightly early and were left, awkwardly, standing at the entrance as staff seemed to ignore us. We were finally directed to our table but did not feel welcomed at all. No conversation, no smiles, no cheer. I said to my husband that I wanted to leave but he assured me things would get better. Many staff walked the floor just doing their job, the atmosphere was dead. My husband asked for wine recommendations and was told he’d find all wines in the wine list, no assistance at all! We ordered our food and all of the pre-meal bits were tasty, the staff informed us of what was on each plate but still no smile. I would recommend the cheese tarte and Leek sauce. I am guessing that COVID has led to the menu having to be reduced as there was less available to order this time. My 15 year old son, who is a fussy eater, ordered the beef dish without the Madeira sauce. His meal was brought to the table an hour and a half after we arrived, covered in Madeira sauce. He tried to eat it but couldn’t so we called on a waiter to ask for what we had ordered. He apologised and took it away, he assured us that he had written the correct order on the ticket. Literally two minutes later his plate was returned and he continued to eat. Noticing he wasn’t enjoying it, he informed us he could still taste the sauce and that the steak was the one he had already had prior to the removal of sauce. We complained as our plates were taken away, the waiter apologised and repeated that he had written correctly what we ordered. We ordered desserts and asked for two glasses of port. The port never arrived. Then Willie, the chef, came to greet his guests. He asked how our meal was apart from the steak. My husband said he wasn’t happy that the same steak was brought back to us. His excuse was that they are so busy they have no option! I would love to know how he removed the sauce; dabbed it with a cloth, threw it in a pan of water, ran it under a tap!! Our bill came and I expected to see the steak taken off the charge, how wrong I was! Very expensive meal and very disappointing visit, we will not eat there again. I do not recommend this restaurant, instead book at the restaurant next door Cafe Del Arte, service and food are a million times better.

An almost magical experience. A beautiful setting, we were lucky enough to have the perfect weather for outdoor dining. The waiter was professional, engaging and friendly and between the staff they delivered and described each course with style and aplomb. The food was divine, it was more than food, it was an experience enhanced greatly by the most beautiful food start to finish. Our first time here but definitely not the last. So glad we decided to visit, a five star dining experience and a fun night too. Will definitely be back and can’t wait to introduce our family to this experience too.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Booked this for a 21st birthday meal after reading the reviews and we were blown away. From start to finish the service was out of this world. The setting is beautiful, the gardens are so relaxing and the water feature adds that extra bit of calm. The little touches meant the world to the birthday girl and she will never forget her experience. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful, you will not leave hungry! Meeting Willie finished the evening off perfectly, and we felt part of the family by the time we left. Thank you so much to Willie and the team and we will 100% be back whenever we are in Vilamoura.
