My partner and I enjoyed another meal at Moeraki Tavern . Both of us ordered Blue Cod and it didn't disappoint.FRESH! Perfectly cooked.Delicious herby batter . It was served with fries , coleslaw and lettuce salad and tartare sauce. It arrived at our table piping...hot which was appreciated. Dessert : beautifully presented. He had pavlova. I had Sago Pudding. I can seriously say that this was the BEST dessert I have eaten in years. Forget those boarding school or nurses homes sago puds ...THIS one was Devine.Cooked in coconut milk and served with pureed mango and a scoop of ice cream.Sublime! Wanting something for lunch we called into the tavern and were very pleased we did. We both ordered the seafood chowder - it was excellent. I have had countless chowders and this was one of the best. Certainly recommend the tavern for their chowder.

Friendly welcoming staff, excellent food and amazing sea views. Had an evening meal there this week and we could not fault the quality and service provided throughout the evening. The Blue Cod was fresh and cooked to perfection along with a great selection of wines...and beers. Was so impressed we headed back for lunch the following day and were equally impressed. Cat and her husband are doing a great job at Moeraki Tavern. We highly recommend them and respectfully suggest you pay them a visit while in Moeraki Village. You will not be disappointed.More

We had lunch at the Tavern. My meal of bacon & eggs with onions and mushrooms was absolutely delicious and my partner really enjoyed his cheeseburger & fries. I was impressed that the bar had the local Scott’s beer on tap as well as the...usual range. The woman that served us was very friendly and we were impressed how well she managed the vaccine pass requirement for other patrons. The bar is nicely arranged with great furniture. The framed beer ads provide a touch of humour as well as showcasing great NZ scenery.More

We have dined here previously & again it definitely met expectations. My wife is gluten free & they had flounder as a special. They dipped the flounder in gluten free flour, which they said they had not done before, it was exceptional! So nice to...have chefs that care about the food they serve. The flounder was an unexpected meal & to have it cooked specifically for her was awesome. I had the seafood platter & it was very good also. The staff were all attentive & made sure we had a very enjoyable evening. Thank You!More

Warm welcome on a rainy cool day. We took a seat looking out over the carpark and road to the water and watched the rain come down. Good priced drinks and when our food came out it was great. Deep fried sole and blue cod,...both with salad and fries, both generous portions and reasonable prices. Super friendly staff - great place to stop.More

Fantastic place to stop in for a meal with great harbour views. The food was faultless, and staff friendly and attentive. We ordered the Kaik pizza, chips, seafood chowder and fisherman’s basket. Parking is a breeze. A hidden gem!
