We had made a reservation at this lovely restaurant for our one night in Kenmare. We were seated on time upstairs , which was a quiet and cozy room with only a few tables. The wine selection was good and we had a wonderful meal, easily the best meal we had on our entire 10 days in Ireland. We started with the pear, pecan and blue cheese salad, a nice portion, easily split for two people with just the right amount of dressing. The Mancini balls with goat cheese were very tasty. Our meals were delicious , the hake with potatoes and leeks and the lamb ragu. All of it was outstanding. However, the service was terrible. Our waitress, Emily, was impatient and rude. We asked a few questions as it was our first time dining here and wanted a few moments to look at the menu. She rolled her eyes at us the first time and the second time when she returned with our water when we had a question about the wine. When we asked if we were bothering her, she said no but proceeded to ignore our table the rest of the evening , notably chatting and serving other tables nearby. We are not difficult patrons and are very engaging and gracious to those that work hard in restaurants. We didn't let it ruin our meal. Her lack of service was reflected in her lack of tip and we did speak to the manager on the way out when he asked us how our meal was. I would return because of the outstanding food, but ask for a different server.

Based on internet reviews, we made a reservation at No. 35 for our first night in Kenmare. It exceeded expectations. The food is fine-dining quality and is an astounding value (slightly over 100 Euro for two people, including one alcoholic drink for each of us). But the true treasure is host Neill. He's charming, welcoming, and professional without being pretentious. When he learned that we were planning to visit the Beara Peninsula the next day, he ran and got a map to highlight places we should visit. (An extra shout-out to Neill for recommending Helen's Bar in Tuosist.) Our experience at No. 35 was so wonderful that we made another reservation for 2 nights later. Neill greeted us by name, and the second meal was just as good as the first.

A group of six friends, we ate at 35 on a damp and windy evening after a long day’s hillwalking. 35 is comfortable and cosy. The welcome was warm and the service from our young waitress very attentive. We were seated at a substantial upstairs table with lots of space. The set menu, at €42 for three courses, offered an excellent choice and all three of my choices - mussels, prawns and chorizo with a tomato sauce, three different cuts of pork, and a rhubarb and buttermilk pannacotta, were first rate. The restaurant’s owners raise pigs so pork is a welcome feature of the menu but there’s plenty of choice. We were all delighted with our visit.

As I sit in this wonderful restaurant, I just had to write this review right now to capture how wonderful the whole experience was. We arrived without a reservation and after a few checks we were shown to our table. We both ordered seafood linguine and it is the best we have ever had - top marks to the chef . The staff are extremely attentive without being intrusive - recommend this restaurant 1000% will definitely be back - if you are driving through Kenmare make sure to stop here ♥️

We made reservations for Valentine's Day dinner since we were staying in Kenmare at the restaurant's sister property, Brook Lane Hotel. It's a short walk from the hotel at the top of the entrance to Main Street. The building was a former storefront with housing above - quite old with loads of history and charm. We were escorted to the 2nd floor for our reservation where we enjoyed intimate service with only three other tables in the small dining room. I had the special that night: grilled black sole on the bone and my husband had the 3-course prix fixe. I ordered 1/2 a dozen oysters for my starter, while his dinner came with a duck breast appetizer. His dinner was a menu staple of fresh local cod with king oyster mushrooms. Everything was delicious and we ordered a bottle of wine with dinner. We shared the dessert that came with his meal - it was a coconut citrus cake. The presentation, service and value were extraordinary.

We stayed in the nearby Brook Lane Hotel for three nights and which establishment also owns No 35. Unfortunately, we had a dreadful experience on our first evening at the restaurant associated with Brook Lane Hotel itself (Casy’s) owing to severe understaffing and a excessive popularity. We therefore looked closely at reviews to see where-else we could go and chose number 35 despite its very close business association with Casey’s. I’m pleased to say that we made absolutely the right decision as everything about our experience at number 35 was first class from the on-line booking to our greeting upon arrival; service and not least excellent quality of the cuisine. The premises were spotlessly clean and well presented and cost was most reasonable. We have no hesitation in recommending this as a great place for dinner.

We had a beautiful meal in No 35. We had homemade sausage for starters, irish beef, seabream, and house wine. The food was amazing ( compliments to the chef ), and Niel was an attentive manager but not overbearing. He was full of local knowledge for a Dub!!!! We will, of course, be dining again in No 35 when next in beautiful Kenmare

Superb food and excellent service from cheery and delightful staff. Has slow cooked daube of beef with delicious champ mash and a fabulous sauce and partner had the lamb ragu which was beautifully flavoured. Shared an exquisite buttermilk pannacotta for dessert. Would highly recommend for a top quality experience at a very reasonable price.

We booked a table to celebrate our 21st anniversary.. It was an amazing experience.. The food was out of this world. My husband had the Sirloin steak.. As a connaisseur he would be very critical.. But he thought that it was 5 star.. I had the vegetarian option.. A very interesting and outstanding dish with tofu, seeds, fresh vegetables and an amazing sauce... To top it all up the service was super friendly, relaxed and made us feel so welcome... We will certainly come back 😘 Joe & Christine

We had a decent meal here. There is no vegan menu and there wasn't even a plant based option for each course but with some adaption we were able to have a lovely meal. There is attention to detail here and almost everything was good. Our waiter/proprietor offered us shop bought bread which he declared to be 'dairy free, egg free and taste free'! The restaurant bread could very easily be made vegan friendly. There is also a lovely local French bakery with several kinds of vegan bread. The mushroom soup was outstanding. A starter of roast beetroot would have been greatly enhanced by using local vegan cheese (Banana Melon Kitchen is wonderful) and vegan honey. Main courses of chickpea curry seem to be ubiquitous on vegan menus where little thought has gone into imaginative use of fresh vegetables and grains, or good vegan meats such as Juicy Marbles or Redefined Meat. But in this case the curry was well executed and was accompanied by sides of potatoes and roast veg. On the whole we enjoyed our meal; one of the best we had in Kerry.

There were five of us and I can’t express how accommodating Neil the manager was when I walked in earlier same day to make a reservation. Then we sit down in Conor’s section and he was a gem! He made our whole experience so enjoyable and then there was the food! Good grief, everything was amazingly delicious. We would HIGHLY recommend No.35 for the atmosphere, hilarity of staff and manager as well as the delicious food!

Always a very pleasant dining experience. Staff are lovely and for me the food never disappoints. The three-course option - while no one could say it was cheap - represents excellent value for money. Quality ingredients, beautifully cooked and well presented without looking like the chef always wanted to be an artist.

Oh my god, what a beautiful restaurant. Upon arrival you are greeted by a very friendly restaurant manager Neil. After being seated you realise the menu in your hand is outlying a three course Michelin meal for under €40. My wife and I agreed that this was our favourite most tasty meal all year. The chef Tony is obviously highly trained and balances so many flavours perfectly. We had a smoked duck and a saddleback sausage starters, followed by cod with smoked black pudding and a feather blade with guinnness and heritage carrot mains. Photos do no justice to the dishes. If you are within a sniff of Kenmare this restaurant is a must. Pre booking is highly recommended. Thanks for reading

I like to think I know something about food, customer service and value for money. No. 35 has it all. Loved the manager Neill who made the experience all the better. Friendly, kind and light hearted. Everything you want and more from a meal out. Featherblade beef lived up to its recommendation. Chorizo and red pepper a fab starter and belle pear dessert was scrumptious. Thx to chef Tony for his supreme excellence. Top of the range. I wish there were more restaurants in Ireland providing this exceptional value for money in a truly cosy space. You'll love it if u give it a try but book ahead. The secret is out.
