It's simple really. Order steak, cook it like I would like and if not, we have a problem. But the young beautiful waitress, upon payment gave us a discount. This is why I will definitely be back. They took responsibility. Restaurants please take note. The...Point showed it is about giving the customer good, true value for money.More

We stopped whilst in the area for some food. The service was great and very friendly staff and everyone enjoyed their meals. Would certainly recommend.

Very mediocre food and service. Typical aversge grade pub food - certainly fell well short of a gastro pub. Waiters were poor and were not really interested in their clients - no real interaction or attempt to be friendly. Very disappointing experience.

I cannot begin to thank all the staff at The Point Bar enough for making our wedding so special. My partner and I were due to get married in June and postponed due to COVID-19. We both decided to go for a small ceremony and...dinner and The Point Bar did not disappoint. We had a fantastic meal for 12 guests and everyone was so impressed with the food and level of service. We were allowed to have our own decorations and cake. The staff were so attentive and even offered to put our first dance song on for us on their music system. Thankyou all so much for making our day so perfect. I look forward to seeing you all again soon.More

Can’t give rating to this place as we didn’t eat there! In short my daughter, her two children and myself took the ferry from Greencastle to Magilligan on Monday 17 August. We wanted to walk the beach and have lunch there. Now I know in...these unprecedented times, booking is essential in a lot of places! The heavens opened as we arrived and we went to the restaurant to eat or book. There was one lone customer in front of us and the restaurant person assumed we were all together and said she had a table for five. The lone customer explained her circumstances and was admitted, without a booking. The girl then went to get menus for us. However, an extremely nasty female arrived and said there was no tables left (despite being told there was) and we could see there was! She said we had to have a booking, which the customer before us did not. Her people skills leave a lot to be desired. The first girl we encountered was very professional and nice. As we left the car at Greencastle and were soaking wet we decided to run and catch the ferry (same one we came over on). Not a good experience!More

I love the Point. I've eaten here so many times with friends & family and the food has always been excellent. I booked for me & a few friends this week (on a weeknight) and we were really surprised at how busy it was. However,...social distancing was possible and it was clear that efforts were being made to be as safe as possible. The food was, as ever, faultless. However, we waited over an hour from ordering to receive our meal. We had to enquire as to its whereabouts. We also did not receive an extra side that was ordered, despite it then appearing on the bill. We got the impression that perhaps the 'Eat Out to Help Out' offer may have resulted in the restaurant bring overwhelmed. We would urge them to consider how many tables they can feasibily cater for whilst still offering their usual high level of standard in these current times. I will be back in the hope that service times improve but I would be reluctant to recommend the restaurant to anyone else incase things remain as we experienced this week.More

Booked for 6 pm. Shown to table at 6:15. It was very busy so we didn’t mind. It then took 45 minutes for anyone to come and take our order (2 tables were taken ahead of us)and it took another hour to get our food....The order then came and it was mixed up. Food was lovely but we were very hungry. We’re glad there was the eat out help out discount. We were aware that it was very busy but not once did anyone ask if we were ok or explain why we were waiting so long. Question the social distancing as well as tables were quite close. It’s a pity because we had heard good reviews.More

A few member of our family arranged to dine at The Point during our stay up the North Coast. As a result of COVID-19, booking was essentials. This worked well as normally you don’t book you need to turn up and wait. Booking - 10...out of 10 Booking over the phone was essential. Very easy. We got our ideal time of 7pm on a Saturday evening. Menu Choice - 8 out of 10 They are currently operating a reduced menu due to COVID-19, however, it has plenty of choice still on it for everyone. The dessert menu was very lacking mind you. On our visit it only had 3 different choices. Because of the limited choice none of our party decided to go for anything. Food Quality and Quantity - 7 out of 10 The food itself was delicious. Very tasty indeed. There wasn’t one plate sent back to the kitchen that wasn’t empty. However, one of the reasons for that could’ve also been that the plates didn’t have much on them to start with. I thought the portion sizes had been cut back on....especially from previous visits. I could be wrong, but in this occasions we did not feel ‘full’ when leaving. Cost - 8 out of 10 Again, the cost was acceptable if more food had’ ever been provided on our plate. However, as it was a very tasty meal it didn’t feel as bad paying as much for it as we did.More
