We stayed overnight in Coleraine and were really looking forward to a meal in the Water Margin. Big mistake. The food was, at best, very average. Bland, tasteless and not very appetising. Service was right up, or down, there with the worst I have ever...experienced. The two young men serving didn't seem to want to be there are quite obviously couldn't have cared less. One of them, the taller of the two, seemed to have a serious attitude problem. Overall, a 'poor' rating is being generous. Best avoided, which is a shame as this place used to be fantastic.More

Went here last night with our toddler for an early tea. Staff all wearing masks, tables are well spaced out, views over the water were relaxing. They offer an early bird type menu before 730pm (3courses for £12) which has a good variety of menu...choices and seems excellent value for money. The children's menu also feels like a good deal - certainly the chicken fried rice was an incredible portion size! Food was tasty, and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating to our wishes, aiming to make our meal an enjoyable experience. Service was quite quick. Would definitely recommend!More

They kept us waiting a while before taking our order but from then on the service was fine. The starters were brill but the mains were goodmbut not amazing. It felt quite safe with good distance between tables and all staff in masks and cleaning...down tables beltween sittings.More

My husband and I dined with another couple. Quick and efficient service and very friendly staff as always trying to adjust to a new normal. Delicious food as always. First time back since lockdown. A favourite place for a special night out.

What an evening we went to the water Tuesday night got a seat really quickley food was amazing really pricey although it was pricey she told us this other menu one proce for a 3 course meal which was really handy, great food, great food...really mannerly staff thank you guys xxxMore

This is a favourite restaurant for us when we’re in the NW. We’re delighted it’s back open. Excellent choice of dishes, prompt service, good value and beautiful setting right on the Bann. Only point to watch is that car parking can be limited.
