Not among the cheapest, but sure among the best. The housemade Ravioli were excellent, as was the Capretto. Together with the wine and the coffee, the bill came up to a 150 CHF. Again, not cheap, but worth it.
One of best restaurants in the leventina. Very friendly personnel and wonderfully cooked food which was of great quality and originally combined! Will be back! Tx for great experience!
The future of the old Gotthard mountain railway and its many villages, hotels and restaurants alongside this scenic route is rather clear. We will soon see more and more of today's railroad stations such as the one of Lavorgo being shut down completely. The new...public transport high speed trains will fly by. The economic key effects of the new Base Tunnel will be the greatest on Bellinzona, many other stations, their hotels and restaurants, will disappear. The exception proves the rule. It is not only location, location, location. At Lavorgos Ristorante Alla Stazione, although its railroad station has been shut down for public transport some time ago, it is bringing bright light into regional gastronomic nightfall. Holding fast as the pinnacle of refined dining this "simpatico indirizzo la cui cucina leggera è di stampo regionale con accenti mediterrane" (Guide Michelin) keeps standards high year after year with absolutely outstanding fare, served in à la carte and a five-course, prix fixe menu that can be paired with an impeccable wine list for a feast befitting its name. The well-trained staff works with panache, the setting is done up in retro-industrial style and there's a definite sense of occasion in the air, leaving the extraordinary cost as the only sticking point. P.S. La stazione is closed on Sunday Evenings and Mondays.More
Here by chance, wouldn't rate the village as appealing. But what a fine place! Accurate service, well designed courses and a raffinated touch. This is one place you wouldn't expect to experience, as passer-by. Truly recommended.
Grazie per la vostra fiducia! Felicità
My wife and I accidentally stopped by Alla Stazione while looking for some food after suffering through a 17km traffic jam at the Gotthard. We had no idea that we were going into such a wonderful restaurant, but we were totally charmed. The waiter was...very friendly and helpful, and we were met by the chef himself shortly after we were seated. His vegetable carpaccio starter was amazing; it is hard to believe that vegetables can taste so good. Each one had its own preparation and sauce, and each was spectacular. We then had the risotto with fresh, seasonal wild mushrooms, and again we were thrilled. Not much room left at that point, but we still split a dessert, fresh berries (from his own garden) with a vanilla cream that really satisfied my sweet tooth. We may have found it by accident, but we definitely plan to go back.More
I went here with some colleagues from work. We all had the menu proposed by the chef (they were very accommodating to dietary restrictions causing some minor changes to the menu). We started with prosciutto crudo and a terrine of vegetables. Followed by a salad...with fish for some and ravioli for others. We all opted for the beef dish which was divinely tender and perfectly cooked to medium rare. I was tempted to lick my plate since the sauce was amazing, I instead choose to dip everything I could into any leftover sauce. The dessert was chocolate mousse with a meringue. The meringue had a little sweetness and some crunch, while the mousse was rich and not too sweet, just perfect. The portion sizes were ideal for not ended up stuffed after two of the courses. The setting is very nice, on the minor road and in front of the station in Lavorgo. When deciding on a wine, the chef takes you into the wine cellar to help you choose. I would definitely recommend the restaurant, overall it was a wonderful evening.More
