Beautiful restaurant run by two brothers (and their mother). Very friendly reception and a lovely vieuw which changed from daylight to evening lights down at Merano. The food was really good and presented attractivly. We had a great Lagrein wine to accompany. Price was certainly...not to high for the quality. Higly recommended!More

Must visit. Excellent food and the view is breathtaking. The journey to the restaurant by car is an experience but no problem. Parking is available. The food is just incredible as is the service, always extremely friendly and courteous. The restaurant is family owned by...the brothers, mum is also helping. What a great experience. Would come back again…More

We used to visit Culinaria im Farmerkreuz rather often both for lunch and dinner. However, we were increasingly disappointed by the rather mediocre food quality (e.g., super market toast bread served with tatar) and far too high prices. The quality of service has decreased over...time and the restaurant is unfriendly to dog owners and dogs. We cannot understand how this place has been awarded a Michelin Star. The view from the terrace is nice, though.More

We enjoyed another outstanding dinner here (2 couples and a child). The drive up from the valley is an experience in itself and the view from the restaurant is spectacular. Stefan was so kind to us from the moment we arrived until we departed three...hours later. We had the complete tasting menu, which is a true one star experience. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced in our view for this level of restaurant. He also made sure our daughter was comfortable and enjoying the experience. We will be back to see the brothers again!More

We recently made a trip to South Tyrol and spent quite a bit of time checking out some of the highly rated restaurants in the area. The culinary highlight of this trip was by far our experience at Farmerkreuz. We called ahead to organize a...special vegetarian menu that also addressed some of our individual food preferences. Sometimes this is a not only a bit of a challenge to organize but actually quite difficult to get proper support with. I had none of these challenges at Farmerkreuz. The staff were always very friendly and accommodating. After arriving at the restaurant for our dinner, we had some time to enjoy the stunning view from their balcony overlooking the mountains and valley below before going inside to enjoy an outstanding dinner in their very tastefully decorated restaurant. Despite the chef not usually offering a vegetarian menu, all of the courses he prepared for us demonstrated great creativity, subtlety of flavor, and an extremely nice balance. He knows his craft and can be flexible in what he provides. This takes real skill in the kitchen. Regarding the service, the chef's brother is the chef de service and made sure that we were always comfortable and well provided for. This included offering us the ability to take home some of the wonderful olive oil they serve with their bread. All in all, there was nothing I could fault in the meal or the service. Just the opposite, we were very happily surprised with everything that we experienced. Farmerkreuz is not just a restaurant not to be missed in South Tyrol, but it is also a restaurant that you will want to return to once you've been there. This is for us the sign of a truly excellent dining experience.More

Fantastic night out at the Culinaria im Farmerkreuz. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, taste and presentation as well as very knowledgeable and attentive service. My wife and I had the full dinner menu minus the snails which have been replaced by a beautiful tortelloni. All was...absolutely brilliant. Thank you Manfred & Stefan for a really enjoyable evening. We will be back...More

We had dinner tonight and to make it short: we will be back. This restaurant is an absolute gem. It starts with the perfect location and the incredible view. The staff is super friendly and the food is just incredible. We had our apero on...the terrace and moved inside for the meal. It started off with apetizers, followed by a “greeting from the kitchen” until we received our first course - ravioli filled with veal, a carbonara foam and some black truffels. The main course was deer with parsley roots, mushrooms and cranberries. She then chose a sweet desert with pears and chocolate sauce while I chose a selection of cheeses. This all went with a Pinot Blanc, a Merlot and a sweet wine for desert. Stefan, one of the two brothers that own the restaurant made the recommendations and he nailed it. Now this all sounds pretty normal, but Manfred, the other brother, puts so much love into the details and the finesse in enriching the aromas both in the way the food was prepared and how spices were added, made this meal absolutely extraordinary! If it was up to me, I would go for six stars!More

Worth the ride.....the 'front of house brother' is charming. The wine list is excellent. And the view is compelling!

Having researched restaurants in the area before travelling to Merano, reviews suggested we couldn't miss Culinaria im Famerkreuz and they were so right! The restaurant has so many things going for it: the kitchen's skills, the local ingredients, the impeccable service, the amazing location, the...list goes on. My husband and I have recently visited some Michelin starred restaurants in London and the Culinaria is comparable. If you're in the area, you must go! We ate dinner on the terrace towards the end of August and opted for the tasting menu, which was just fabulous. The choice, innovation and skill was obvious and Michelin stars are soon to be hitting Culinaria.More
