The whole idea of the George Bar and Grill is to create a relaxed environment without dropping standards when it comes to the quality of our food or bar. We are really proud of the excellent rapport our staff build with our customers and the service they so effortlessly provide. A smile goes a long way at the George Bar and Grill :) Our kitchen staff have a few simple rules that they love to live by, the food should be hearty, full of flavour and rustically served to match the homely feel of the George Bar and Grill. It MUST, wherever possible contain locally sourced, high quality ingredients. Although we are a food venue, our bar is open for coffees, snacks and drinks. You can also enjoy a
On our first trip to Weymouth we had been recommended to visit The George. We did not have a booking but the young lady who greeted us managed to find us a table.
EXCELLENT from the word go. Jess looked after us during our stay...and made us feel like royalty. Nothing was too much even though all staff were very clearly busy. The food was also superb.
She took the time to chat to us about Weymouth and recommended some other places for us to try. Can we take her to every restaurant we visit?
Thank you very much George bar and grill team you have made our holiday one to remember.More
We went here for a meal one weekday teatime, myself and my husband.
On approach we asked the guy can we have a table for dinner, he said sorry we’re fully booked, I said, well yesterday we was told we couldn’t book it was first...come first served, that’s why we went so early, every table was reserved, I said how do you book a table, he couldn’t answer me, we waited nearby and watched groups of 5/6 ask for a table and got seated straight away without a booking, seems this place picks and chooses their crowd or who will spend the most, discusting will tell friends not to bother.More
We phoned ahead to see if we could book here and we were advised to come on down as they had availability. When we arrived they said they can not seat 6 of use and 2 babies outside. Yet seated a family behind us who...seemed to be locals. Dont bother with this place unless you are a local.More
We attempted to go in to this place and were refused entry as we was a group of 6 adults and 2 children ( who are two bubbles by the way which it states in the COVID guidelines issued by the government). We could see...three empty tables and was refused entry due to being over 6 people even though the guidelines state groups of 30 allowed outside. The waiter then went on to sit a local family down whilst we was stood there onto the empty tables.More
We visited The George twice over our weekend break , food so good on first visit Sunday afternoon , booked for next day in evening. Very good choice on menu , we all enjoyed our food . Staff very good and efficient .we will definitely...visit next time in WeymouthMore
My wife and I recently visited here whilst in Weymouth and it was really great. This was before the restrictions were eased so we had to sit outside and the view was just spectacular! I hope that even when things return to 'normal' that places...like this will still provide a good amount of outdoor seating because it really was so lovely.
The service and food were also brilliant. There were plenty of staff and they couldn't do enough for you and the food was quick and tasted fab!More
