Great location, food was good value for what it was. You can get better but of course you would pay more. Lovely family atmosphere with staff who were friendly and personable which helps enhance the overall experience. At a time of staff shortages they did...very well with a positive approachMore

There was 6 of us in our party and our dog. We ordered drinks and food. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. I managed to speak to the chef, Russell. Our son has multiple food allergies (46 in fact) he is also...anaphylactic to a few. Our son doesn’t often eat out for this reason so we carry food with us but we decided to speak to the chef on this occasion. He assured us that the skin on fries were absolutely fine and heard from other staff members that Russell is very ‘on it’ with allergies. Our son sat and enjoyed his chips, he was so pleased he could have something, he spoke to Russell before we left and told him he rated the chips 200/200!!!☺️😆 Having a child with lots of allergies makes eating out as a family difficult but The Ship Inn was fab and the excellent service was an absolute bonusMore

My wife and I visited the Ship Inn for the first time on "Freedom Day" 19th July. Weymouth was absolutely packed and it wasn't easy to find anywhere to eat. We queued for about 5 minutes at the Ship Inn and Justin the front of...house guy found us a table in a great position outside. We had a superb 3 course meal which arrived quickly despite the place being so busy. All the staff were helpful and the atmosphere was great! I must congratulate Justin on his professionalism and helpfulness. We enjoyed ourselves so much we went back the following evening!More

We visit the ship on a regular basis for food & drinks who is always top quality. Disappointed to see the sausage roll & scotch egg starters option had gone on our latest visit which is a firm favorite of ours but the food options...we went for were up to the highest standard. Always lovely service from the staff with special mention to Jess & Adam. keep up the good workMore

We ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad and a Fish and Chips. It arrived after approximately 40 mins which in itself is ok given we are in ‘staycation’ and the whole of Weymouth was busy. The food arrived with a smile. Unfortunately the salad had too...many anchovies and was extremely salty as a result making it almost inedible. The Fish & Chips were the worst I have had in a very long time. The fish was slimy and the chips were mixed with someone else’s order of fries. There was no lemon wedge or garnish. Infact, if I couldn’t mask the flavour of the fish with Tatar sauce it would have also been unpalatable. The waitress whom brought a second drink, just dumped it on the table and left, not offering to pass to the correct person… this was service without a smile!! We are local and we will not be back. Best avoided if you would like a nice meal.More

I wrote a bad review in 2011 . Since then, we have visited for drinks but we haven't eaten here. Last night, as England played in the semi finals, we managed to get in and order food. I had ribs, coleslaw and sweet potato fries,...my husband had steak and chips. Both of us agreed the food was lovely. All the staff on duty were super friendly and efficient. Top marks - we will be back for moreMore

Stopped for a couple of drinks on a sunny day. Sat outside at the front, ordered by phone app which worked well and drinks arrived promptly. Booking is essential for food as we watched many people turned away. Great spot for people watching and gets...lots of sun early evening.More
