Made a reservation online and had a very quick response which was helpful. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the food was fantastic. If we didn’t live so far away we would be there all the time!! Will definitely go...again next time we are in Dorset though! The cocktails were excellent as well.More

Fantastic restaurant, really good fresh food, very friendly and efficient service. Decor is great with nice low key music. Portions are generous.., So refreshing to have some different cuisine.

We visited as a family of four on a Saturday evening following great recommendations from two of the party who’d been before. We were really looking forward to a menu where new dishes were waiting to be explored. Really friendly and informal service in a...relaxed and casual vibe greeted us as we walked in. Two of us were early so enjoyed some drinks whilst we waited. Onto the food, starters of Zim Prawns, slow cooked ribs and Sadza bites were all enjoyed and eaten in quick time. Comments such as , “succulent ribs “and “lovely flavoured prawns” flowed. Main course time : Oxtail and Moroccan Tagine we’re enjoyed by three , but I’m going to rant about the Durban Curry which I ordered as bunny chow (served in hollowed out bread ). It’s a superb , rich, spicy but not too overpowering curry with a lovely sublime tang aftertaste. Being served in the bread enhanced the experience. Once the excellent main courses were polished off, we made room for one more culinary delight each. I can’t remember the name of my dessert, but it was a cross between Christmas pudding and toffee pudding, served with a brandy sauce and cream. Again absolutely bloody lovely ! We’re really glad we visited, loving every aspect of the meal. Can’t wait to return ! This place has jumped straight to the top of my favourite restaurant list.More

Went on a Tuesday evening. First impressions were good, staff friendly and decor was good. Had a Dark and Stormy cocktail. I have this drink quite often and this was one of the best I've had - in fact I had to have a second...it was so good! I had the Slow Cooked Ribs with Monkey Gland sauce. Have to say they were absolutely wonderful, maybe the best ribs I've ever had. My husband had the Harissa Chicken Burger and said it was really top notch. Our waiter was really good - very friendly and helpful. All in all a great dinner and a place we'd definitely visit again if in the area.More

What a find! The receptionist at our hotel recommended Zim and I’m so glad she did. The food here is incredible. We had the ribs to start and a fillet steak and the Durban beef curry for mains. Everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere...is very relaxed and the place is something special with lovely friendly staff. Well done Zim - we will definitely be backMore

Visited for the first time as a group of 6 for a friend’s birthday, not really knowing what to expect… one of the best restaurant experiences so far this year- would highly recommend. Interior and decor laid back and inviting; service was a excellent. Good...service seems very rare post COVID, but every member of the team we interacted with was pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, and switched on. We were given just the right amount of time between being seated, ordering, and receiving food and drinks- without feeling rushed or delayed. The food was all nicely presented, at the right temperature (hot plates when needed) and was SO tasty! Portions were spot on (leaning towards generous!). My only suggested improvement would be a better quality pita served with the main (halloumi skewers). The Don Pedro after dinner cocktails were a real treat 😍 Brilliant night all in- would definitely recommend and visit again- thank you so much for having us!More

Fabulous, informal and atmospheric. The lads (staff) were pleasant and very welcoming. Great African music playing in the background too that added to the enjoyment. Now on to the food....Brilliant! I had the Chicken Cape Malay Curry that was delicious but check out the authentic...menu online to prepare you; you're in for a treat! Make sure you are hungry............... Over the road is a very cheap/reasonable pay and display car park too.More

We had the most amazing food here last night. The staff are so friendly. The restaurant itself is buzzy, has such a nice vibe and beautiful decor. It was hard to choose a dish because everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. I...decided on the prawns to start & my partner had the ribs. Followed by the swordfish (amazing!!) and chicken burger - again so so tasty. This is definitely the best restaurant in Poole!More
