Food here is really tasty, portions big enough, waiters kind and prices really good. Many dishes of traditional Georgian cuisine and more. They especially have my respect for clear national position and pride showing Georgians are on right side of history.

My wife and I visited Layla for dinner and lunch in September 2022. I reckon this must be the best restaurant in Mestia. We liked all the dishes we had (all - Georgian). Khachapuri and Kharcho tasted particularly good. House red wine was excellent given the price. Service could be a bit faster - the place appears to be under some stress on busy nights when the line is waiting outside and they have got to provide takeaways as well. Layla feels very vibrant and truly multicultural and multilingual. Dinner reservations are strongly advised.

We went to this restaurant out of curiosity. It is always full of people and you have to wait to get a table. That's why I expected the food to be especially good, but nothing to see. In other restaurants in Mestia we ate much better and cheaper. The dish we ordered was reheated (I had eaten it in another restaurant where they served it freshly and there is a good difference), the waiters, although there were many of them, were not very attentive and we had to wait a long time for them to serve us. The best thing this cafe has is the terrace, the rest is not worth it.

Bill came to 84GEL, 103GEL was written and circled. I added it in front of the waiter and he told us it was service and taxes. Everyone at our table was respectful and courteous. Service charge should be 10% and there are no taxes unless indicated on the receipts in Georgia. They charged 23% and i had to find the waiter twice to order more. We were an American and German group of four. A cute woman friend of ours was given a free beer and paid no service fee on a 5GEL plate of fries! Too funny. Then yesterday a Russian friend I was telling this too told me he was overcharged 17%.

I was excited to eat here after reading reviews but it was disappointing. My Greek salad didn't resemble anything like a Greek salad and it was drenched in dressing. The shkmerulj had barely any meat—it was all bone and gristle. I had to order a follow-up lobiani (which was tasty, thankfully) to feel like I had a meal. I had far better food in similar outdoor surroundings at Hotel Posta's restaurant up the street.

It's no surprise this restaurant is so busy and has such high ratings. Of the three restaurants we tried this was easily the best. Good atmosphere, good food at reasonable prices and for us good service. (Secret is to go early in the evening). Our waiter was very efficient but was under pressure as the place filled up..... in the evening, it's better to go at about 6pm if possible, as many people were turned away later on.... very good value and a very clear menu describing the dishes.

There is no doubt that Cafe Laila is the #1 spot, the place to go and be seen in Mestia. The place is packed at all times, both inside and out. Good thing they have plenty of staff, who are well trained, friendly and efficient. Like most people, I ended up there late afternoon after exploring the mountains. Have a nice drink and choose some Georgian dish from the menu. Because their "wine by-the-glass" is rather mediocre, it is better to order a bottle (trust me, you'll finish it). For a good bottle of Saperavi, a delicious meat soup, chicken tomato in sizzling clay pot and bread, I paid 80 lari.

Great food but often busy. If the queue is too long try Chaibude, a small family restaurant in a building just behind the same block. We didn’t want to wait for a table at Laila so we went there instead and enjoyed the local svanetian dishes and friendly service (reviewing here as they don’t have their own entry). But I would still go back to Laila if they have a table.

This is my second visit after 3 years. I can say this guys improving. They survived pandemic and they became even better. My advise for breakfast: oat poridge, cheese and bread and honey. Turkish coffee is also good. Dinner: Ajaruli khachapuri is the best in whole Georgia, trust me. This is a full sustain dish. A glass of Red Dry will be good additive. My discover of the year: eggplant salad. Ask to replace Mayo with Yogurt and that will be the burst of taste. I can't believe that such simple dish have so much flavor. Try it with bread and Qvevri wine

Laila is a very popular restaurant right in the Sveti square, serving the best food that we had in whole of Georgia. It has very warm, cozy , relaxing atmosphere which is very inviting. Always packed , it’s easily the most popular restaurant serving very sumptuous Georgian dishes, like Chicken kebabs, Kachapuri (easily the best I had in many different cities/towns of Georgia), Kubhdari, salads, chiken in white sauce (yummy) etc. Staff spoke good English and were knowledgeable to guide through menu well. They were polite and courteous. Excellent meal experience. Worth repeating. Highly recommended 👌👍.

Nice place located in the central square. Excellent service, friendly but professional and fast. Traditional Georgian and local dishes (such as Dumplings) well cooked, tasty and well presented. Excellent beer and traditional Georgian wines are also worth trying. We enjoyed it so much that we had dinner there on both nights of our stay in Mestia We recommend booking, even in the afternoon itself because it is always crowded. The only flaw is that it is really hot in the internal room.

This is a really cute cafe with a unique interior and nice patio. Good selection of Georgian dishes with reasonable prices, although I wasn't thrilled with the quality of meat in the meat dishes. I enjoyed the green salad, as it's not so easy to find lettuce in Mestia, and I ordered this multiple times. I also tried the beef kubdari, but I found the meat to be too fatty and chewy for my taste, and the beef ostri was skimpy of meat so the dish was not filling. It wasn't my fave restaurant in Mestia but I would return for the salad and to try something else on the menu because in general, I liked the vibe.

The best and most popular restaurant in Mestia . Also it's a halal restaurant so it's pretty safe to eat for the Muslim population. It's so popular that often you need prior reservation so make sure to have one. Excellent quality of food. Prices are not too high.

The dishes were tasty and made with ingredients that seemed fresh and of a high quality. The atmosphere was quite funky with a rather messy, but also interesting décor. The place really stood out as being quite unique in Mestia and it is a good pick if you ever have to find a place to grab a bite in town.
