Dropped in for the first time in a while for a New Year's Day lunch. Very nice welcome from the bar staff and then an excellent meal. Service was courteous and attentive without being over the top and the food was absolutely first class - gammon, sea bass and Hunter's chicken. Desserts were good because the portion sizes were just right and the charges very reasonable. Brilliant start to 2020 - thanks to all the staff.

The Sea bass is one of my favourite meals also, it’s delicious. On your next visit why not try the pork belly, this is also a fantastic dish. We have come to our local pub for Sunday lunch on 2 occasions in the last month. Food is great and plentiful, and the staff have always been really pleasant and attentive. If you download the 'Vintage Inns' app, you can get some great discounts. I've managed to get 33% of both visits so far! Only thing I have had a slight issue with is food being served on cold plates. But just ask for extra gravy! Please see what you can do about the cold plates it will make a big difference! ☺️ We will be returning and hopefully have food served on hot plates! 😉

We visited the Titchfiled Mill at the beginning of August on the £10 off offer and were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed it so much we have booked again for the weekend and bank holiday. The food was as good as it was pre-lockdown and the staff more than attentive. We have visited 4 other pub/restaurants in the local area since the re-opening and was starting to think they were all equally as bad with poor service, no choice of food or badly cooked food. None of this at the Mill so if you want excellent food and service in trying times this is the place to go.

So, first visit out to a restaurant during the Covid pandemic and was really looking forward to it. After being shown to our table, it took the waitress 20 minutes to come a ask if we wanted a drink........ when we ordered our food, we where disappointed to say the least, the fishcakes with poached eggs, well you may as well have called them potato cakes, after a quick dissection, we concluded there was no fish in there ! And as for the poached egg, it was cold and hard boiled, so this was clearly not cooked to order. The thrice cooked chips where definitely thrice cooked and tasted pretty much like McCains over cooked chips. Waitress offered to change the egg which would have meant sitting and waiting with the meal going cold whilst she returned with a fresh egg, so we declined. After the main, we declined a pudding, as we was not impressed with the main. Won’t be visiting again.

Gammon was good but menu says triple cooked chips - they weren't triple cooked, just bog standard oven chips. Oven baked mushroom stater was disappointing - in a runny sauce with not much taste. Unfortunately all the tables in the restaurant area were booked so we sat in the bar area, but we found quite a few of the seats quite uncomfortable.

Since lockdown eased we have eaten out 3 times over the last week and this was easily the best. We used to visit regularly but haven’t for a while and with 50% discount on main courses we booked a Wednesday lunch in the snug with a lovely roaring fire. I had the lobster fish cakes with a poached egg, green beans and delicious new potatoes in butter. My partner had the fish and chips with mushy peas and triple cooked chips. The fish did not have too much batter and was delicious. We followed with two mini desserts (chocolate browny and ice cream, and cherry creme brûlée). We had a glass of Sauvignon and a pint of orange and lemonade. Our service was very professional from Charlie and Jai with food and drinks served on a tray for us to take. The bill came to an amazing £30.77. There is good spacing between the tables and a one way system for entry and exit. My partners only complaint was the toilets could do with an upgrade - paper towels not air dryers during the Covid pandemic. The banisters up the stairs are grubby.

I've visited this place on many occasions over the last 2 years and always enjoyed it. However this Sunday was a complete disappointment. Booked weeks in advance once opening dates were confirmed to finally get out with my family. Arrived at 4pm to be told only 1 option remained of the Sunday lunch menu - and even that would be a 20-25 min delay. Having been seated, we were then ignored for 30 mins! We had to approach the staff ourselves, 3 of which were stood talking. No apology was made at all. Having selected options from the remaining menu we were then told that they were also now not available. And the other Sunday lunch menu option would be another 20-25 mins! Having seen 3 other tables seated and served before us, ignored, no drinks orders taken and no food available we decided to leave. Not one member of staff in sight no one even noticed we had left. I can accept delays when places are busy but this was unacceptable, especially for a table based service! Will not be returning. Very disappointed.

I visited the Titchfield Mill with my husband and elderly mother in law on Wednesday 10th November. It is a shame that the quality of food or service did not match the attractive venue. I ordered sea bass fillets with pancetta pea veloute and spring onion mash . After a lengthy wait (40 minutes) my order arrived slightly cold and the veloute looked congealed. However this was not the main issue. When I took my first mouthful the fish tasted off. I tried the mash which the fish was sitting on and that too was tainted by the fish. We called the waitress and I discreetly told her the fish was off. Sue took my plate away in silence and didn’t return for some minutes. When she returned I asked what was happening. She said the chef was about to make another batch to which I requested that a bowl of soup be brought instead. My husband and mother-in-law were already half way through their meals and we had already been waiting for such a long time previously , that I didn’t want to risk another lengthy wait. I mistakenly thought the soup option would be speedier. However the soup I had requested did not arrive for some 10 minutes! Unfortunately when I tasted it ( leek and potato) it was very bland, so I only had the bread and butter. An extremely unsatisfactory experience made worse by a complete lack of any sort of apology from the waitress. Unbelievable. No attempt was made to offer any form of discount , however the failure to offer a mere apology is absurd. We do not recommend this restaurant. It is unacceptable that fish is served which is either not fresh or incorrectly stored/ defrosted in the kitchen. Not only was it inedible, but was unsafe for health reasons.

We visited this pub today for a ladies catch up lunch. The location is lovely and the pub itself is lovely but that’s where the positive mostly ends. I had the prawn cocktail for £6.50 and there was barely two prawns in the dessert bowl which had mostly cheap iceberg lettuce in it and two slices of burnt bread with no butter. My friend had the mushroom starter and the pub had no bread option for gluten free so she had a bowl of mushrooms at full price. Two of us had the lobster fish cakes which had the most minuscule amount of lobster in......blink and you would have missed it. Portions were small and the food not worth the price. The waitress tried to overcharge us by nearly ten pounds which again didn’t go down well with our group and the way multi-payments were made on the card machine without you knowing how much they are taking is super shady! I would definitely not recommend and won’t be going there again ever.......

I’m sorry you were disappointed with your recent visit and the food you received, if you were to mention this to your waitress she would have been more than happy to rectify or change your meal and grab some butter. I would also like to apologise for the misunderstanding with your bill, you received the large fishcake as there was a misunderstanding that you wanted the one from the fixed price menu and this was sorted instantly. We went for a birthday meal and it was very disappointing, the beef was tough and the yorkshires so over cooked they snapped and shredded. The veg was nor al dente but not cooked particularly the carrots. This is our local pub and we have had some lovely meals there but also come corkers. I really think its a bit hit and miss depoending on the chef at the time.

We used to visit the pub a few times a year as a treat and always enjoyed it, so were interested to try the takeaway option which I believe is only started 2 or 3 weeks ago. We noticed the menu was extensive so we were able to go with our usual choices. I also asked for "no mayo" on the burger which the chiefs did remember. We'd booked a collection time, but there was a 20-30 minute delay, (due to one of the machines I think). When the waitresses came with our bags of food, one of the main meals was missing but when we mentioned this the staff were quick to sort this out. Food was good, good portion sizes. Worth the wait, but hopefully next time there won't be delays and hope the takeway options is a success.

I visited today lunchtime for drinks and a snack with a friend. I chose the pate as I only wanted a starter, that cost £6.75 and I added a portion of chips costing £2.95. The dish included 2 types of pate which were miniscule, one piece was edible but completely lacking in flavour, the other which was a duck pate had an unplasant taste which I felt was certainly past it's best and to me tasted "off". The toast was fine and the chips were good. The portion size of the pate was an absolute joke. The butter, which I had to ask for, well exceeded the size of the pate! I complained to the very pleasant waitress and asked her to get the pate checked as it really was unpleasant and she returned from the chef who had said it was fine. Shame because the pub itself has a lovely interior, but I really do not like being ripped off. I may well return for a drink but not to eat.

I enjoyed a deliciious meal at the Titchfield Mill on the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. The menu was varied and I chose the pate to start followed by the fishcakes. I have to say that the presentation was excellent and both tasted absolutely delicious. My companion chose the mushrooms and the lasagne. Again, both were delicious. I was lucky enough to be sat outside on such a wonderfully warm evening which added to the enjoyment of the whole occasion. Our waitress was called Becky - she was attentive and approachable, nothing was too much trouble and everything was very Covid-aware. I would thoroughly recommend the Titchfield Mill - thank you for a lovely meal. I'll be back!

Lovely meal with a friend. We went early evening as we hadn't booked and it would have been busy due to the christmas period. They fitted us in in the bar area, which was warm, cosyb & festive.. Food tasted great & resonably priced for such an intrigueing establishment. Only negative was that main course was brought to us before we had finished our starters!

After many miserable meals many years ago we decided to give The MIll another go. We were elated to find that it has become a warm welcoming space with excellent food a lovely ambiance and superb wait staff (shout out to Lauren who is a treasure, so good at her job) the Chef was willing to adapt to my request to swap out any alcohol in the meal and substitute ingredients which complimented the dish, thank you so much. We have now eaten here on four occasions and each has been a delight. Adore the tiny pud with coffee for when you just can’t face a full pudding.
