Came here for a quick and cheap dinner one evening of our trip to Reykjavík and were not disappointed. I got the medium sized chips with vegan mayo and my husband got the large sized chips with garlic sauce and bearnaise. The portion sizes are huge and neither of us finished them. The chips are really nice and the dips we tried were lovely too. Would definitely recommend.

Not much to say. Place serves chips in 3 different portions (small-medium-large) with sauces of your choice. Except the ketchup one you have 1 vegan to check as well (tastes like peanut butter). Cheerful staff.

We noticed this place a little way up one of the side streets from the main road and gave it a go - glad we did! Really fresh cooked to order chips, some of the best I've ever had. Crispy but fluffy on the inside! Service was fast and friendly. Some decent happy hour deals if you're after a quick snack or light tea with beer.

And I’m not joking - Best Chips ever! The menu is exclusively chips either potato or sweet potato and a large choice of sauces. The portions are very generous and the sauces are delicious. All the chips are gluten free and every sauce but one as well. There are vegan options for sauces too! We had sweet potato chips which were so crispy with garlic mayo and sweet chilli mayo.
Definitely worth stopping in one

We stopped in this little restaurant for a late afternoon snack. The menu is exclusively fresh cooked and hand cut French fried potatoes made fresh to order with various dipping sauces. They serve them pipping hot and the portions are huge. Great for a hardly cheap snack or simple meal on a cold day. Small but inviting eating area. Definitely stop by.

This was the very first takeaway restaurant we visited during our stay in Reykjavík, very tasty chips! They’re served in a “carton cone” and you can put them in one of them table holes. A new concept for us, staff were very friendly, lovely relaxing atmosphere. Will call again whenever around

Probably the most expensive chips I’ve ever had, but also one of the best. We were very hungry and ordered 2 large portions and 2 soft drinks for about £22. We both struggled to finish as the portions were massive. The dips that come with the order were very tasty, and the tomato ketchup was gluten free as were the chips as my wife has coeliac.

Dropped in here on a rainy Sunday night. There were were only a few tables occupied so we ate in. One large chips with a couple of sauces and one fish/chips with 1 sauce, there are lots of different sauces on offer. Also shakes, burgers, beers and soft drinks. Open kitchen with just one bloke doing it all. Food was served piping hot and very tasty.
Good find.

We visited here for a quick snack. The chips were fresh and tasty and reasonably priced. This is a good place for a snack but no good for lunch/dinner.
One poor aspect would be that items from the menu are not available such as the milkshakes and sweet potato fries having seen people being turned away including us regarding the milkshake. According to the staff me ever they no longer sell them so they should take them off the menu! This is the only disappointment.

Fantastic little place just near the centre. We ordered 2 x fish and chips with 2 sodas and chive and garlic dips. The fish was delicious as you'd expect, better than anything back in the UK. The price was brilliant for Iceland working out at roughly £15 per person. The chips were also very well cooked and were seasoned perfectly in my opinion. Would definitely re-visit. Its a quick bite kind of place with a few places to sit but very cosy and a really polite staff member. Your not in Iceland for fine dining but you need to get the great food !

There is nothing not to like about this place. They serve delicious hot chips which are perfect for warming you up on a cold winters day. We stopped by for lunch on one of our days in the city. I went for a small chip cone (which was actually quite big) and chilli mayo. They were lovely and crispy and delicious. It’s a small place and was quite busy when we stopped by, but it was well worth the wait. Got to love chips.

I knew I had to stop when I saw this place on the map. Open late, but not super late the night we went (I think they closed at 10?). The chips were hot and crispy, perfectly salted, and the two sauces we got were delicious (Buffy and Harakiri). The Harakiri surprisingly had good spice, considering most Icelandic food is not spicy or well seasoned. There is limited seating inside and can get quite busy. These chips do not compare to Amsterdam chips, but they were pretty good!

The chips are fine. You get a decent portion...but they're just chips at the end of the day and no special seasonings or anything on them so they seemed overpriced. Also the guy behind the bar didn't tell us that the medium portion only came with one dip included (large came with 2) so he charged extra for the 2nd dip which I thought was a bit out of order. On a positive note the beer was nice. but I don't think I'd go here again.

The friendly staff and tasty fish and fries with house made sauce make this a great spot for eating. I really felt welcome here. Food was fresh and hot, the atmosphere was relaxing, and prices were a bit lower than in other establishments. Reykjavik Chips is a great spot for a meal.
