About
In the main street of Reykjavik, Laugavegur you will find the small ship (kiosk) Vitinn! There they sell sandwiches, sodas, candy and some of the best hot-dogs in town! A pleasant visit worth doing :)

We had walked past this small shop a few times and with Iceland being very expensive, this is the perfect place to grab the very filling and cheap National dish of Iceland. The hotdogs come with raw onions, crispy onions, ketchup and local mustard which is quite sweet. For under £6 for a hotdog and a coke you really can’t go wrong. The hotdog itself is super savoury and has a great snap, the combo of the raw and cooked onions really elevates the flavour. The gentleman in the shop was very polite, and overall it was a lovely experience.

Great little quick food stand perfect when you’re on the go or just want a cheaper casual option. It’s a small place with only like 4 bar seats for example given its niche. Quick Icelandic hot dogs or breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Can grab some snacks while in too!

Amazing hotdogs and very friendly owners, highly recommended. They do a great deal on hotdogs with a drink and it’s on one of the main high streets with lots of good shops.

The owner is the nicest person. Very welcoming and was patient with my only speaking English. Only $6kr for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. Great location, open early.

Even though you might buy hotdogs (pylsur) just anywhere in Reykjavik, nobody will prepare them for you with such devotion :) Best part is, the buns are great (real bread) and it is located in the very convenient spot.

This is a small shop and snack bar with a few bar style seats. We had a couple of hot dogs with all the trimmings and a couple of drinks for ISK 1180 total. The food was pleasant and very reasonably priced for Iceland.

Heard about Vitinn through tripadvisor and while we were strolling down Laugavegur, we saw the sign. Great hot dog, request everything, there are deep fried onions at the bottom of the bun. There were no lines, bar stool seating against the window and a perfect snack before dinner! Owner was very friendly as well, makes a difference!

Stopped here just for the hotdog as it was recommended. We were not disappointed. 550 krona gets you a drink and a tasty, piping hotdog complete with fried and crispy onions. Owners are friendly so it’s a cute, quirky place to stop at while shopping.

Perfect if you missed breakfast and want something to get you going. Or at any time you need a little reflueling and a short sit down. Choose a dog (with everything, of course - which includes yummy crunchy fried/caramelised onion bits) and a soft drink. There are other additional snackie alternatives and if lucky you get to sit at the bench by the window and watch the world go by....

This is a much better place to go than the famous hot dog stand down the hill. Same dogs and condiments without the line at a better price. Why not go here instead?

Good hot dog and coke for a good price without the long line. Customer service was great too. Must try the Icelandic hot dogs. Yummy.
