The most delicious slices of cake served with lashings of whipped cream; accompanied by hot chocolate and coffee. Perfect to warm yourself up after exploring the city and harbour. It's a lovely quaint little coffee and bookshop, nestled ever so slightly away from the main parade of shops. Not many books to browse, but a well curated selection to look at (if slightly pricey).

Everytime I return to Reykjavík, I return here to chillout. friendly waiters and a layedback atmosphere make this coffee-and-book-shop somethi mbg very special. No vackground music, just the murmuring of the other visitors. A little bit like the Kaffeehäuser in Vienna back in the days

Very cozy place Where you can immerse yourself in a reading while drinking a coffee or something. The bartender is very nice, professional. He is Greek, but speaks very good Italian and makes you feel at home. The quality of the products is good. Highly Recommendation 😉

Very cute/cozy spot with lots of potential. However, the owner repeatedly approached me asking me to give up my seat, after having been there only under 1 hour and having purchased food items (clearly visible in front of me). She asked me 2 times if I was going to buy anything more, which I was going to after a few more mins. I don't appreciate being harassed and made to feel as though I'm just a dollar sign and not a valued customer who deserves to be left alone to enjoy my time in a cafe after having purchased already. She asked if I was going to "just sit there" – no, I was not doing that. I was studying on my phone a college course I was taking, before I was ready to take out my laptop. There were empty tables around me also so it's not that the place was full and there desperately needed to be a rotation. Also would look to see much more vegan options, veganism is surging - time to catch up more than just a few options. It felt very uncomfortable for me. Please advise. Thanks.

Bought a coffee, was not asked if I wanted it for take away or to stay. Coffee was luke warm when I asked for an americano. Barista then made a insulting comment about American culture which was completely unnecessary. He claimed a law in Iceland requires him to double charge for the mistake of not telling him I wanted it to go. That's fine if that's even the case, but do not insult your customers.

Lovely little café with a fairly priced menu. The food was ok although it took very long time to prepare it (35 minutes , but granted he was busy with his phone for most of that time). The coffee was good. Wouldn't come here if you're in a hurry, otherwise good.

Lovely, down to earth, cafe in a bookstore setting. The books are all new but older editions and priced low. Great coffee & food.

Needing some sustenance that didn;t cost an arm and a leg, we visited Ida Zimsen for a quick muffin and coffee ... the options for baked goods were plentiful, but the person making the coffee was rude and snappish ... begrudgingly answering questions and not really disclosing the information being asked for. If it was self-serve, I'd recommend it, but as is ...
