We were on tour in Iceland and had our tour end meal and loved this retro 30’s looking restaurant.
Waiters are very attentive and the food is delicious!
Good selection of wines. Also the price/quality relation is quite good!

It’s hard to describe the pleasure that we had into stepping in this cozy restaurant in the middle of the city. The waiter was very helpful, finding us a great spot to be seated and brought some brioche and butter to start the dances. The started I had, consisted in some little chunks of salmon with dill and some sauce to go with, I cannot stress enough how authentic and fresh this salmon was. And not less fresh was the main course, Icelandic salmon with sauce and mashed potatoes. I also trusted the waiter, Fabien guide me through the choice of a delicate white wine to accompany the meal and I was highly surprised by his knowledge. I highly recommend the dessert too, buttermilk icecream was the best choice I could ever made. Don’t let me talk any further, just go check out this great place!

This is a restaurant next to the port area, near Radisson Blu. Visited Oct'22 and had Atlantic cod. Normally would rate cod as a secondary fish dish, but this restaurant made it an experience and I changed my opinion and left the attitude against cod dishes. Price level normal Icelandic (expensive), but the staff was really good and provided service. Interior was nice and very good ambience for a modern stylish restaurant.

Well situated in the Reykjavik Hafnartorg district.
The atmosphere of AKUR Restaurant and staff manage to combine an excellent experience for all senses. From a comfortable advice on the menu from the waiter to the spot-on suggestion of Chablis with the Gravlax as a starter, followed up with the grilled Salmon as main course.
OMG the perfect match of taste with side dishes.
Even the subtle playlist in the background matches with the atmosphere.
And let’s not forget the Japanese milk bread.

Akur is an modern French/Nordic restaurant who is nicely decorated with a chilled atmosphere.
The staff is welcoming and knowledgable about the food and wine they serve. I have been here two times and everything I tasted was delicious. My favourite is the halibut bisque, you’ll be sure to have an excellent meal. Highly recommended!

Amazing food and wine, warm welcome from the staff, overall one of our favorite food place in Reykjavik, that we've been living in for 5 years. Appetizers, main dishes and desserts were simply incredible, we asked for what wine to go along the dishes and the choice they've made for us was perfect. If you can, go there and have the best food you can have in Reykjavik!

This brand new restaurant was phenomenal. The ambiance was great as were our waiters, esp. Gyða. The food was excellent but expensive as this is a high end dining. We hed the scallops from Ísafjördur and the cured salmon as a starter and the main was the cod and halibut bisque. As a dessert we had the sampling of cheese. The wines were also excellent. Great beginning for this restaurant. Highly recommended😎

The place is very warm with a beautiful view of the port. We ate at the restaurant several times. On weekends, a brunch is offered with pancakes etc. in addition to the everyday menu. We had a blast!!! The cocktail wine list is varied and quality!! We asked for an improvised house cocktail: delicious!!! The service is fast and very friendly! I recommend !!

Spending Christmas in Iceland, a magnificent country, we stayed in Reykjavik and returned to the restaurant La Cuisine, formerly Akur, where we had already been so warmly welcomed once during a previous stay, by Arthur and his team. Chic and warm atmosphere, high quality welcome, for a friendly and truly tasty lunch. We were so happy that we were given the honor, at the end of the service, of visiting the kitchens which were incredibly clean and tidy. Hats off to the chef. We learned that wine testing was planned and this is not surprising because the selection of wines is extraordinary. In short, La Cuisine is super good, very beautiful and really warm. Thank you la Cuisine team, we love island and La Cuisine so much that we will come back for sure

This recently opened restaurant truly adds a new dimension to the restaurant flora in Reykjavik. Food was of exceptional quality and the service professional and friendly. Very course was a journey and the experience in whole amazing. I’m definitely returning to Akur soon!

Wonderful Nordic French, Elegant dining room well spaced. Great selection of wines. Impeccable service and friendly staff. Shrimprolls garlicked was excellent. Mussels in wine was absolutely Devine. Enjoyed the dinner. Proximity to our hotel made it convenient.

Absolutely fantastic salmon starters. Beets are good as well. The service was fantastic. Staff was great with our kids and monitored our tables perfectly. I put pictures of the food and they speak for them selves.

I had lunch yesterday at Akur restaurant. I was very pleased with everything. The service, food and wine was in one word excellent. The place is very nicely decorated, it is comfortable with good acoustics so it is easy to have a conversation. The place has a very nice view over the harbour. I will definately visit this place often, as it is now my new favorite restaurant.

This is a brand new restaurant so we were super excited to try out. And it did not disappoint at all. The service was top notch and the food was so bomb. We had few dishes to try and everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presentation. My favourite was the beef steak with Foie gras.
