Read the reviews and was excited to eat there. Was completely underwhelmed except for the incredibly delicious muscles.

First night in Reykjavik we stumbled accidentally into the Sjavargrillid Seafood Grill. We got a table in a minute but it looks like taking a reservation is a good idea if you plan to go there. Next to a big variety of seafood you also...More

Gets tons of amazing reviews and buzz, but we were underwhelmed. It’s good, but not amazing. It’s also pricey. I am not sure I would go back, but wouldn’t steer anyone away from it either. If you want a nicer dinner out, it’s a solid...More

The 4 of us had a lovely meal here, and our waiter was great about explaining dishes and serving us. The seafood was deliciious, atmosphere friendly and fun, great place all in all. Don't be afraid to try the fermented shark!

I called ahead for dinner reservations, which was easy for our arrival. We were seated along the back wall so we could view the exterior (Garden and people). We ordered salmon, which was perfectly prepared.

Creative and delicious seafood centric menu (they have lamb too). Beautiful presentation. Great bread and extremely creamy butter too. For those on a budget Iceland dining can be quite pricey. Tip: go at lunch when prices are lower.

Had a lovely meal...BUT....seated & ordered cocktails! Waited for some time (no complaints about that) & had ordered food & wine! Cocktails, food & wine all came at once! It is a conundrum....usually cocktails are sipped for a quiet interlude before dinner is served....we should...More

Lovely atmosphere. The chef personally visited our table. He really cares about food quality. Staff is very attentive. I had the best salmon I've ever had in my life ( you get salmon prepared two ways as your meal). Service was great. Atmosphere is pleasing....More

I went to the Sjávargrillið for a lunch with my wife. The food was delicious, service at high level. Price for food similar as every different places in Reykjavik. Portions enough to feel full. I'll visit them again for sure.

In 2010 a young chef from Húsavík, was awarded Chef of the year 2010 in Iceland. The young chef, Gústav spent months traveling around Iceland looking for the real taste of Iceland, along the way he found a few things that are key items of the interior of the restaurant.Take a look at our menu, it will be our pleasure to fire up the old grill when you honor us with a visit.
