My visit to this place went swimmingly. They had a small range of dishes from fish and chips to traditional fish stew to chicken noodle soup all dishes only 1650isk which was probably one of the cheapest meals we had while in Iceland. We got the fish and chips which was delicious. The nicely crumbed cod with light herbage was succulent and the chips were crisp and fresh. They also had all the sauces you could ever want like buffalo wing, sweet chilli sauce, nandos piri-piri and ketchup. They also had little containers full of chocccy appertizers. When we received the food we were also given a prince polo for dessert and told we could have free refills (not drink refills but food refills) free of charge. The lovely staff made this a place I wish I had discovered early.

We came here twice during our stay!! The fish and chips were bomb. The fries are seasoned well and cooked to a perfect crunchy crisp. During our second visit, the employee was in high spirits and was joking around with the dining guests and even gave us some free chocolate bars! There’s a few seating options in this small dining restaurant. The food is very affordable (fish and chips 1650 KR) and there’s a handful of different options, including Icelandic typical dishes. They also serve the food reasonableness quick!

Value for money in Reykjavik restaurants is rarely guaranteed but here you can be sure you're getting a good deal. The prices aren't 5* expensive but the service is. We were accommodated at short notice into their busy restaurant and were fortunate enough to overhear a food tour going on at the time. The lobster soup was expertly seasoned and the chicken noodle soup was filling and authentic. To top it all off, complimentary chocolate biscuits curbed my sweet tooth perfectly. Cracking job all round. Thanks for having us

Decided to go here for a bite to eat at lunch, ordered the fish and chips and it was cooked fresh in front of us and bought to our bench quickly and piping hot fresh from cooking. Great hospitality from the staff (I think the owner) who we're really friendly and chatty. Also it is great value, it can appear crowded as only a small eating space, but is worth going to and ignoring this! Also we got a surprise desert, worth a visit to see if you will also! Definitely recommended!

I visited here with a friend for lunch. I had the chicken noodle soup and my friend had the seafood soup - both were really tasty and the portion size really generous (I was full afterwards). The service was really good and the staff were extremely friendly (they even gave us chocolate bars before we left). The soups were around 1850 ICK so the total for our two meals was around 25 GBP. I would definitely recommend this place and I would visit again.

We had delicious fish and chips and lamb stew here and it was the cheapest meal we found in Reykjavik but the best value. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the owner was a real character and gave us free chocolates and chocolate wafer bars. We were also offered free refills of our food and free coffee. Highly recommended.

There is nothing cheap in Iceland. NOTHING. Actually there’s nothing even reasonably priced, but for Iceland this place nears ok prices. That is until you get served your soup in a cup and you wonder why you have paid so much. I had the meat stew. No idea what the meat is, but it was warm and edible. Service was good and quick. I don’t think there is much more to say. It’s a ripoff, but go somewhere else and pay double.

Me and my partner came into 101 Reykjavik Street Food today greeted by the friendliest staff I’ve seen for a long time, I ordered the lobster soup which came with this amazing bread which really complimented the soup too and I was actually given another 2 pieces of bread by who I assumed was the owner and then was given a free chocolate bar as a dessert. So I truly felt spoiled and it was one of the best soups I’ve ever had and it was only £10.25 which is a great price full stop never mind for Iceland. Overall I couldn’t recommend this place enough even if your unsure about going just go in and the friendly staff will very quickly ease any of your worries.

We ate here on the second night of our trip and it was absolutely brilliant. Food is really expensive wherever you eat in iceland and this was reasonable. The food was very tasty. I had fish and chips and my husband had the fish stew (with a free refill) which was an added bonus! I would definitely recommend this place to eat and the welcome was very warm.

The food is fresh, tasty, not expensive and the staff is really nice. I just wanted to pick up some food for take away and ended up chatting to the nice girl who took my order - she not only had great suggestions for my further travel in Iceland, but also gave me two chocolate bars as a dessert for free. Wow! Plus the lobster soup and the traditional fish stew were really delicious (for a really good price). I can only recommend to try it out!

The restaurant is very cozy, the service is amazing and you get candy and chocolate as you get in! We were five visiting, and therefore we got 5 BIG chocolate bars, as shown in the picture below. After waiting for just about 5 minutes we got our food. I had ordered Fish And Ships. It was very hot, but it was just about as good as it was hot. The owner welcomes you right as you come in, and you get candy as you get seated! The owner always comes by our table to check so that everything is good, and it surely was! We got some extra bread for free, an extra drink, also for free, and we also got told that we could have more food for free if we wanted. One of us even got a hug from the owner! What more could you possibly want?! I would have given this a 6/5 if it was possible... Great owner, we thank you and your great chefs for an extremely cozy and welcoming place! <3

We wandered in 101 Reykjavík Street Food maybe 30mins before closing. We were greeted by the most cheerful and hospitable gentleman and told to sit wherever we’d like. We ordered fish and chips and of course some Icelandic meat soup. Everything was made fresh to order (of course the soup was already cooked in a nice big pot.). The fish and chips were crispy and fresh, came with all kinds of sauces and was perfect. The soup had awesomely develop flavors and stayed piping hot the entire time we ate. Our lovely host chatted with us often as it was only us and another couple eating at the time. We never felt rushed even though they were closing soon. It felt very warm and homey and we’d love to dine there again for our next fix of some Icelandic street food! Highly recommended.

My family stopped in for dinner tonight. I’d read multiple reviews about the excellence of this little place, and we were not disappointed. We had Fish and Chips, Traditional Icelandic Meat Soup and Veggie Noodle Soup. All the food was super tasty, fresh and fairly priced. The broth of the Veggie Soup was amazing, and the fish was way higher quality than is normal for fish and chips. However, the best thing about the meal was the service. It was understandably packed, and instantly a server made us feel at home and explained the wait time (which was only a couple minutes until seats opened up). Then, they gave us candy bars as we waited (briefly) for our food with the express directions that we could not eat them unless we finished our food. This lovely “extra” not only was enjoyable to eat, but really made us feel like family. After the food arrived, the owner came to make sure the food was good as well. I haven’t felt this warmly received at a restaurant in a long time, especially as an obviously foreign tourist. The entire meal was just wonderful. Go here. You won’t regret it.

We visited here for our first night in Reykjavik as we just fancied some easy grub. We'd read some reviews and thought it would be worth a shot, especially since food and drink is often very expensive in Iceland. What can I say? Top nosh comes to mind, but also excellent value for money. Not often you'd see that said round here. We went in and were firstly greated by a member of staff with a huge smile on her face and a bowl full of celebrations of which we were offered a choice from. We took a seat in the relatively small casual dining space, and got given a menu straight away. At first it might not seem like there's much choice, but that's a sign of good food. We had the fish stew and fish and chips. Both I could highly recommend. The fish here tastes very fresh. The staff were also kind enough to suggest seasoning for the food and also offer a selection of sauces that they have. Just when we thought we'd finished, the staff again came over and offered us FREE REFILLS on food! I mean how many places do that? I will mention this isn't an 'all you can eat', and the prices are already cheaper than most around. To top it all off we were sent away with a chocolate bar each as pudding. To summarise, the food is great and excellent value for money. A word of warning, if you wish to sit in you might be out of luck as it fills up quickly, but they do offer take away. It is worth the wait however!

What a find this restaurant was! When we first arrived the staff were very friendly with beaming smiles on their faces. After taking a seat, the owner came over to personally say hello and take our order. He had us in stitches with his humour and showmanship with his customers. The food was served very quickly, tasted fantastic and definitely filled us up for the rest of the day. We even got offered refills for free! The owner also gave us chocolate bars for dessert for free and gave us one of our three drinks on the house. To top it off, it had to be one of the most reasonably priced places to eat in the city. I would say this is a must do for any traveller to Reykjavik
