For most Europeans, Reykjavík is not a cheap city, and Fiskelagid is not a cheap restaurant, but it was worth every penny.
Amuses Bouches, an excellent range of starters and mains, any of which we would have been pleased to eat. Sorry, but we did not reach desert.
The dining room is very well set out, with atmospheric lighting, and the staff take the trouble to discuss and explain every dish as it is brought to the table. Wonderful food. Give it a visit.

Best meal we had in Reykjavik. Service was spectacular, presentation was breathtaking, choices were plentiful. We had the beef tartar, some sushi, and a salad - all were delicious. The price of the meal reflected the level of service and quality of the meal. While some may consider the price high, Americans should remember that tipping is not something done in Iceland and the price is comparable to a meal in American including tip. I would highly recommend this restaurant and considered going back but ran out of time.

Lovely restaurant , probably the best meal we had in Reykjavik. Friendly staff and nice decor ( interesting artwork! ). We had the lobster soup and cod medallions for starters and the fish of the day (catfish) and plaice dish for mains - all were excellently cooked and presented. Good value for money and there is a set menu which is cheaper. A lovely last meal to end our Icelandic holiday.

We had a fantastic meal in this lovely restaurant which I can recommend highly. We all had different dishes, the waiter explained what we had and we had a fabulous experience as good as you would get in any Michelin star restaurant. Even the toilets were worth a visit with the unusual decor.

We visited Reykjavik for new years 2020. We made a reservation for 6 people from 7-9 PM. Upon arriving we were immediately seated and our drink orders were taken. The meal was a set menu. We have traveled extensively all over the world and have sampled many various cuisines. Without a doubt, Fiskfelagid is in the top five of great experiences. Food was fantastic as was the wine. Service was impeccable. We would highly recommend this establishment to all who visit. The atmosphere was also wonderful. My hearing is not the best but the way this restaurant is set up, I had very little background noise to interfere with having conversations with my party.

Our excitement to dine at this restaurant was quickly tempered when we arrived to find they lost our reservation. After much confusion and disbelief by the host we showed them the email confirmation of our reservation. After more fumbling by the host he finally located the record of our reservation. For all of our inconvenience we were seated in the walk-in bar area of the restaurant by the no-so-apologetic host. The main seating of the restaurant is much more desirable and should have been reserved for us since we booked the reservation a month in advance. When we were finally seated our waitress came right over and asked if we were ready to order. No interest in offering a cocktail or in us being there. I ordered the five course Gourmet special with wine pairings. I would say the food was good but the wine was not worth the additional charge. Finally, when the dessert course was served there was no offer of coffee. During our stay in Reykjavík we ate at a number of other fine restaurants where the service and food was excellent. No so at this restaurant.

This was our first night in Reykjavik and we got the timing of our reservation wrong but the staff at the restaurant were great and arranged for us to be seated even though we were almost an hour late on a Saturday night.
The quality of the food served and the flavours were outstanding and all 5 of us were raving about it afterwards. We were so full no one bothered with a desert. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance about it and it was a great night out.
It goes without saying that the cost of the wines were expensive and we ended up with a large bill but it was well worth it we all agreed, especially as I was paying for most of it!

Our family of three had a relaxing dinner at Fiskfelgid this past week—each of us chose three courses from the a la carte menu and every course was flavorful, delicious and a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Particularly loved how the various dishes showcase flavor profiles associated with different regions of the world. I started with the Truffle flavored egg (France)—it was magical. Perfectly runny and rich as it spread across its lovely little potato nest, seated on truffle puree and asparagus. Then I ordered the fish of the day—three species, each mini-portion prepared differently, each wonderful. Just delicious. Memorable. Dessert was also excellent. I know some folks have said this spot is pricey . . . but folks there is no tipping. We most certainly paid less than we would have state-side once a 20%+ tip was added on. Service was knowledgeable and always right on the spot without making us feel rushed for even a second. Atmosphere was cozy—a glamorous cellar full of candles. Wish we could pop back, but now that we are home, alas, it is a bit out of our neighborhood.

When (not if) we return to Reykjavik this is going to be my prioritized dinner choise.
The staff and service was exquisite. A
misunderstanding made our waitress think that we got our starters mixed up so a shell fish allergic was at risk, she immediately checked up on us to make it right. Very much appreciated! Through out the whole visit they were very attentive, friendly and serviceminded.
We had a mixed plate with several different spieces of fish. Wow, it was THE best fish I have ever eaten, anywhere in the world. Nicely served and perfectly prepared. One of those (rare) meals I've had when I almost don't want to have another bite, because it means it makes you are getting one bite closer to its end, just want it to last forever...
So if you enjoy well cooked fish and are going to Reykjavik- this is a must and something to look forward to!

Considering this is a town full of very good restaurants, with excellent fish and meat options, you have to work hard to stand out from the competition. Fiskfelagid did exactly that.
The place is really cool, romantic and understated. Service is friendly, attentive but not overly so. The food was just amazing. We had a reindeer carpaccio and beef tartare to start, both of which were sensational. We then shared the sushi platter as a main and it was also excellent. Just the one desert which was also amazing and when the bill came it was actually less than some of the other similarly hyped restaurants we had been to. Result.
I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We will be back to Reykjavik at some point in the future and we will definitely come back to this restaurant. I'm already looking forward to it!

We had the very first dinner in Reykjavik at this restaurant. We showed up without reservation but got seated in a matter of minutes by the window.
The waiter was very kind and explained us what was typical and suggested beers or wines to drink with the food. We order 2 fish dishes, which were very elaborated and tasty. Pretty big portions. 2 main courses, 2 beer and 1 shot of local liquor totalled to 92 euro - a bit high for normal standards but Iceland is expensive. More or less this is the money you'd spend anywhere in the center (unless you go to fast food restaurants). Worth visiting.

We decided to choose one of the taster menus, the food was lovely and very generous. We also chose the paired wines to go with each course, not a cheap option and the waiter who served us didn't have any knowledge about them. We came to the conclusion that they may be randomly chosen, we certainly didn't notice that they enhanced the food and another time would just choose a bottle for the whole meal. We would probably eat here again though.

10/10 experience. Amazing food, we had a cod and a lobster soup - would totally recommend both. Our waiter was amazing, very professional, made our experience special. They give you a bottle of water, bread, butter and caramelised nuts on the house. No issues if you wanted a refill, again on the house. We left a tip.

This is an upscale restaurant with outstanding seafood. You can order a la carte or you can order a fixed meal. We had the three course fish meal . The chef sent out an amuse-brouche of delicious shaved salmon wrapped in cucumber and they also gave us wonderful bread with sweet butter. The first course was lobster soup and the main included three types of grilled fish and a dessert. They have an excellent wine list and serve cocktails. The total price was not that expensive given the amount and quality of the food. The best thing of all was our waiter who handled us in English while also working with speakers of French and Icelandic. We were inside but there is also outside seating. It can be crowded to make a reservation and come hear to enjoy a delicious meal!

Beautiful underground restaurant with a cool purple bar that greets you as you enter. Reservations are highly recommended as we were turned away the 1st night we attempted to eat here. The guy wasn’t the friendliest either but we returned the next day nonetheless. We got seated right away for our 8pm reservation then. Our lady server was nice and got our drink and food order quickly. Loved the warm sour dough bread service with whipped butter and the granola toppings I thought was interesting. My yuzu based cocktail came and it was phenomenal. Just the right acidity and citrus flavor. It was refreshing. We made a mistake and ordered 2 of the same thing for dinner which was the sushi platter. Each item on the menu was labeled with a country except for the platter which stated The Fish Co. I took that as the restaurant’s specialty. My bad. The sushi was ok. We were in Iceland and I’m an Asian from California. Needless to say, it wasn’t authentic and I wish our server had made suggestions to us like she did to the next table. I overheard her say to them, after the fact, that the Lobster Soup is a house specialty from since they opened their doors for business. I could’ve gotten that. Or anything else for that matter. This was definitely one of those charge-to-experience scenarios.
