Restaurant is adjoined to the Exeter hotel where we were staying. Decided to eat there one night, reasonable choice of food. Order taken at bar we both went for burgers. All cooking takes place by side of bar. Had a drink whilst waiting for food when delivered burgers were very tasty with amazing deep fried baby new potatoes with cheese sauce. All was very tasty. Price for food was approximately £30 for both burgers including a free drink. Good value for Reykjavík as drink and food is not cheap.

We had walked down to the harbor so we'd be there when it was time for the Northern Lights boat tour and decided to find a good place to eat. We read the menus of 3 places and then decided to circle back to this restaurant and I'm glad we did. It's a unique sort of "fast food" restuarant (it's attached to a hotel) with an eating area and a bar area. They give you a menu and you can find a table and then go back up to the register to order. I got one of their unique burgers and my husband got their fish and chips. We both ordered an Icelandic Craft beer. The food was great. We got a kick out of some of the items on their menu. Once we ate, we went into the bar area to have another beer and saw that they have a unique way of filling the beer glass. They set it on s special area of the bar and it fills the glass from the bottom up and then seals the bottom of the glass. I wanted to upload the video but it won't let me. Check out the pics of the menu.

Found this place near the harbour. I can honestly say it was probably some of the best Cod I’ve ever had.
The menu is very quirky and you just order at the counter. I had the Cod and my Wife had a Cheeseburger, both of which were lovely and by Reykjavík’s standards very reasonably priced.

We went as we bought a voucher through Tui which in fact did not save us much at all. We had raised expectations after reading the review. We ordered one veggie burger and one chicken burger with no mayo etc just a plain chicken bun. When it arrived the chicken burger had mayo avaocado etc all over it, they had not listened to the order. It was then taken back and we had to wait, meanwhile my wife had the veggie burger which was ok but just ok. My chicken burger arrived with one piece of dried breaded chicken which looked like it had been overcooked maybe the same piece rehashed so it was left, in short we did not eat at the same time, food was not the best, we witnessed the order girl being spoken to, and to be fair they brought us two lemon drizzle doughnuts as an apology but they were so greasy and tough they were left too. Cannot believe tui we’re selling tickets for this place in short we cannot recommend.

Burgers were very very good. Absolutely to go there for. But the rest of the food was not that good. Potatoes were dry and way too much dressing poured over them. The Fried chicken (JFC) was swimming in the BBQ sauce which made it a lot less tasty. Place is fine and price is fine. But go for the burgers!

After doing a little research, my daughter and I made the decision to have dinner at the restaurant at Le Kock on a Sunday night. We wanted to try something that was familiar to our taste and at the same time had some Icelandic influence. We were attracted to the burgers on the menu because of the way the special sauce. Both of us ordered the “offer of the Last Century” meal which included deep-fried baby potatoes, and a soft drink. We were offered the opportunity to add a two for one donut, but we passed. In retrospect, the donuts looked really good and we should have tried them. We entered it was not crowded. There is a line for ordering. Everyone is given a number on their receipt. After that, we picked a table and the food is brought out to us. I asked for my burger to be cooked through, so our order took about 15-minutes. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun and a little irreverent. About two-thirds of the people were speaking different languages besides English. There appeared to be a fair number of locals here. By the time we left around 7 PM, there were no tables available in the dining room area. We enjoyed Le Lock so much that we returned here a week later on a Friday night. The food was just as good, but the restaurant was much more crowded. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in Reykjavik. Their menu is online and the prices were reasonable when compared to any major city.

This is part of the Exeter Hotel near the Old Harbour. It serves as a breakfast place but you can also get a so-called lunch and dinner there too. If you're staying in the Exeter the breakfast is part of the rather expensive and poky hotel. I would not recommend it as an evening bar or as a place to eat. It is overpriced, the food isn't good, and the staff don't look very happy at all - sometimes even surly. The manager needs to up the ante and keep the staff and guests happy. As well as cutting the prices. I'd have given it only a one, except one of the staff told me theres' a far better place 15 metres up the road. And it was.

We loved this place. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were more than willing to adjust items on the menu as we had a picky eater, and there's a decent vegan burger. Everything was done perfectly and quickly. The atmosphere is a lot of fun and felt quite alternative. You can also pay a bit extra on a burger meal deal to get one of their delicious donuts (I highly recommend the cinnamon one) and if the bakery is shut for the day, the remaining donuts are two for one!

Visited because of the best burger 2018 & 2019 stickers in the window and they are definitely true. Le Kock was my favourite food I had on my trip to Reykjavik. The Hancock burger and curry potatoes are not to be missed. It is more of a casual/fast food place but it was a cool atmosphere, dark with candles and neon lighting. It also has a cool bar attatched. Well worth a visit, the food was amazing (although slightly more expensive than many of the other places we tried). Loved it and wish I could go again

Visited after finishing this on trip adviser/Instagram. Wasn’t disappointed by the food! So tasty- we had one meat and one vegan burger with a side of topped potatoes each. We ate it all and were very full! One of the best burgers I’ve eaten. The cocktails are nice too.
It was confusing though. It’s very large in there, you sit yourself, find your own menus and order at the till. When your meal is ready they call out your ticket number like you are at some fast food chain
Would be better if it was table service

Looking for somewhere to dine on a snowy evening in February, we stumbled on Le Kock. Peering through the windows, it looked very attractive: shabby chic by design but busy and lively. We didn't think they'd have room but fortunately another booking had failed to turn up, so the waiter kindly gave us their table.
Ordering wasn't as difficult as other reviews make out: you read the menu at your table, go up to the main desk to order and pay and then sit down and wait for your food and drinks to arrive. Easy!
The food was very good and matched the laid-back and friendly vibe of the place. The staff were very friendly and easy going, often pausing to chat to customers.
It was a great find and I would recommend a visit!

This restaurant connects with the excellent Deig bakery Donuts and Bagels store. The whole decor and vibe is joyful and cool. The food is surpringly affordable and very tasty, with a twist (e.g.:. you don't get standard frozen fries, and instead get crispy baby potatos which are much better).
The service was amazing: they made an error in my wife's order, who wanted a vegan burger. When I told them, they profusely apologized, left the burger and delicious potatos on the table (which I gladly are) and quickly brought the correct order with a new set of potatos.
I have been there a few times and they are always consistent. They also have a great beer selection!

Attended this restaurant with my partner on a Friday evening, we were confused as to whether you sit yourself down or they sit you somewhere. We later found out the process is, you sit yourself down and then attend the till with your order afterwards. The menus are also at the tills as well which is confusing. However the food is amazing! We both had the burger and potatoes offer which was 2,900ISK for a burger, potatoes and a can of pop. This proce is roughly averge for the area so wasnt over proced. The atmosphere was great, it was busy with people and they had tvs in each room. Would definitely return.

We stopped for a quick hot drink and cake to warm ourselves up. The bakery part has an amazing selection of breads and cakes... we had a brownie filled doughnut and a cinnamon kruller (ring doughnut) and they were both delicious and surprisingly light. We also had two good cups of tea. The vibe is quite youthful and urban so not really us lol but it was a good find, and well priced. The main meals smelled delicious too.

It was a nice experience having a hamburger dinner in this cozy and trendy place.
They do not have a huge variety of food but the hamburgers and sides they do are truly tasty and prepared at the open kitchen when the guests can see the whole cooking and preparation process.
We were a group of roughly 20 people, got different types of burgers and everyone was pleased with the food. Reccomended!
