Lovely rooftop bar with good views. Very laid back vibes. We were a large group and availed of a food package and an open bar drinks package. Both were excellent. Great selection and plenty offered to our group. Jorge was extremely helpful to deal with over emails when making the booking and was equally helpful on the night. All staff were friendly. The bar is a little difficult to find but it is a good spot!

Great staff

We visited on a Friday and it was therefore very busy, particularly on the outdoor terrace. However service was still good and the view and vibe are very nice. The drinks weren’t cheap but also not overly expensive. Barbara who served us was very friendly and funny but also very quick at getting orders out!

Great rooftop bar w/ friendly staff

I visited Lisbon from 10/4-10/9/2023, and this place was one of the highlights of my trip. Went here to bring in a friend's birthday, and Barbara & Ruan made sure to make it a great experience. From their recommendations to their conversations, they made a tourist like me feel comfortable, and I'll be back in Lisbon again because of the experience I had here at Topo with them. Thanks once again to Barbara & Ruan.

Ruined by the Service

Food, music, drinks and food were all great. Although after being seated it took 40 minutes for us to first get served, this was after asking staff members whether we could order. Then took another 40 minutes to order food after that. All in all, spent around 2.5 hours there and could only make two orders, as hard as we tried to order more. Great place, absolutely ruined by the slow and rude service.

A GREAT AND DISAPPOINTING PLACE

With all expectations we went to dinner and a drink on the last night in Lisbon. To begin with, they told us when we called that we didn't need to reserve and when we arrived they made us wait a long time to sit down. The entrance does not have any indication so it was difficult for us to find it, and the “views”… disappointing! Like the facilities. The drink left a lot to be desired, it took about 40 minutes to bring the dinner and on top of that the quality was not as expected in a place like that. Finally, the prices were exorbitant, in fact for a seafood platter or a top dinner in the center and in emblematic places in Lisbon with wine, bread, etc. and you pay the same as here (we had a hamburger with potatoes for dinner...). Finally, they charged us a percentage that they invented of the bill that we ended up paying for not arguing. NOTHING, BUT NOTHING RECOMMENDED.

Disappointing Service

We visited topo on a hen party this weekend. It is a stunning bar but the service really let it down. The manager was rude and very unhelpful. We booked months ago but on arrival we were sat at a bench right at the back of the restaurant in the shade away from the view. We requested to move as we had specifically requested a table on the terrace in the sun but the manager just ignored us and made it out like we were irritating him. Really disappointing as this was a special occasion and it put a dampener on the last day of our holiday.

Very unsafe area

We planned to visit Topo because it had been recommended to us as a good rooftop bar. We got an Uber to the area and immediately felt on edge when we stepped out the car. Everyone was staring at us, there were some dodgy looking people around and we were very uncomfortable. Despite this, we continued to find the bar. After wandering down several streets and dark back alleys we found what looked to be a restaurant which we thought would lead to the Topo bar. We got approached by a homeless man and were told you had to go through the indoor shopping centre to get to the rooftop bar. We quickly hurried down the street to what I can only describe as the most run-down shopping centre I have ever seen. We hesitantly went inside and started to walk up the stairs and were getting stared at by everyone in there. We all agreed on the spot that we would give up trying to find the bar and leave to find somewhere else for drinks in a safer location. I would not recommend visiting this area, particular if you are a young group of girls going out for drinks…

Very bad!

We came with 4 friends to have a drink. The service was non-existent… We spent 15 minutes looking at employees who simply didn't pay us any attention. After waiting 15 minutes, with the bar almost empty, we decided to leave. Terrible Mediocre bartender and barmaid, without any notion of professionalism… Super bad experience, stay clear of you got any other options!

The place was fine, it took a bit long for our cocktails to be ready but not a bad place to be. The view is nice, the place does not accept reservation for the restaurant part. But we would say there are better rooftop places in Lisbon.

Best bartenders and cocktails in lisbon

We were in lisbon for 5 days and went here every night. The view is amazing. The food is great. The best part are the cocktails. The staff is fantastic. We enjoyed the great service of João, Miguel and Tiago. They are experienced bartenders and provided us with lovely cocktails and a good chat. Thank you!! See you next time.

Great place for an early evening beer, we had several. Chilled, good vibes, a little gritty. Good views. Outisde bar was clsoed when we arrived but ooened around 6pm. Spot on.

Unsafe area in general and the block that the bar is in is also quite unsafe & rundown looking. Wouldn’t recommend venturing out to this ghetto for drinks when there are better options in safer areas in the city.

I previously really liked this place and used to come quite regularly. However, my latest experience was quite unpleasant and has put me off ever going back. We order three cocktails- a pisco sour (9€) and two margaritas (11€ each). However, when the bill came, it was 34,10€, as a "gratification" had been included. When we questioned this, the bartender told us that it was an obligatory extra payment, which was stipulated on the menu. We checked the menu, and it was not. The bartender told us we had to pay the full amount or we couldn't have our drinks- despite the fact that on the receipt, it says that this "gratification was optional". Furthermore, the receipt stated the "gratification" was 5%, when we were charged an extra 10%. We later queried this again with another member of staff, she spoke to a member of management who claimed this was a "mistake" and returned the money. We witnessed this happening with multiple clients (typically foreigners who didn't speak Portuguese). Pay attention to your bill and question any extra charges!

Not suggested. The waiters are very rude. Racism !! We were at the table having our drinks, we did not even completed our 1st drink and out of blue the waiter asked us to leave. We had not even finished our drinks.

Shady situation with manager and stolen purse

My friend and I went to Topo, had a few beer and wanted to change from the outside area to the inside area when suddenly my friend saw that he lost his purse, he went back outside and asked if anyone saw anything, the bartender told him he just brought it inside to the bar, we asked there and he got his purse back but with no money in it (80€ stolen) 1 minute after that we saw how the manager put some 20€ notes in the cash. I went back to the bar and asked if it was the 80€ from my colleague and the lady there told me I can speak with the manager and we can have a look at the cameras. The manager came with 2 other guys, they spoke 20 minutes in portuguese with each other and tried to find the video where it happens, in the video you can see how the bartender picks the purse up and then told us the money was still in there and brought it to the manager where somehow the money then was gone. I confronted him with my assumption and all he said was „it is my words against yours, I cannot do anything“ then we left the bar. I am very dissapointed because actually it is a nice bar, cool location but a situation like this will never bring me back there.
