Terrible food and wines- not at all reflective of Azorean cuisine. Fish stew appeared to be the scraps one might use in making stock (to be strained and discarded) and was watery and full of bones. Octopus was rubber. Felt touristy and tired.

The food was not bad . But definitely not the best food we ate in the island! Service was okay at beginning and become horrible at the end. Why I ask. Here's why ? My wife found two hairs in her plate and gently told...the waitress about it. And we over heard the waitress talking with the chef saying that at least it wasn't pubic hair . Disgusting comment . And definitely not fun when u can hear it. So the kitchen must be gross . The meat was hard . OverCooked. I had a hard time getting mayonnaise. Can u believe this. Overall was a bad experience. The manager didn't even bother to come talk to us. And I asked the waitress if he was aware and she said yes. Do urself a favor avoid this restaurant at all cost.More

Simply put, the best restaurant from our trip to south of Spain and Portugal. The breaded octopus as a starter followed by the Tuna as main and the “bolo de feijão” as dessert made the whole stopover in Ponta Delgada unforgettable! And the staff was...super friendly as well, with Antonio, Breno and the whole crew being very attentive and welcoming. Tasca does not do reservations, and it is busy, but prepare your appetite with a glass or two of Douro wine and it will all be worth it!!More

Delicious meal. We arrived around 6.45 and waited around 20 minutes for a table. Place was heaving with happy eaters. Food was great. Tuna, cooked rare, was delicious. Husband had ‘pargo’ (snapper) fillet, the dish of the day, which was amazing. Husband had black tea...pudding, like a creme caramel. I had the chocolate mousse, which frankly wouldn’t win awards, but the main course more than made up for it. Portions were huge so we felt no need for starters other than bread and olives. Azorean Frei Gigante white wine proved a good choice. Staff were friendly. Meal for two came to €90 including tip. Reasonable value for money given quality of fishMore

Cosy & beautiful little restaurant. The service was great, especially in Tallinn where one might find a bit unwelcoming feeling. Food delicious and wines from Portugal so authentic vibes. Setting and music suits perfectly to whole setup so highly recommended 👌

This was on my list to go. Ended up going twice and the experience was more fun than Michel. Portions are huge, service is friendly, english menu, great staff, tasty food. Best to go for a late late lunch after you are really hungry. We...tried seafood, rabbit, shrimp, octopus and desserts - pineapple cake is amazing. Food is very tasty. We went off season, but going at odd hours should work in summertime as it is open all day. Wine was reasonable and good. A place to enjoy and eat the Azorean way.More

We happened upon this restaurant while touring the area off of a cruise ship. This was a great discovery. Particularly outstanding seafood. The portion of tuna one of us got was just enormous and done perfectly. Really a great experience.

Great dinner - expected to wait longer than we did. Busy place, but efficient and fun! The sister bar seems closed ? Maybe for the off season but ordered a drink from the bar while we waited. Had a variety of “snacks” to share -...4 for 2 of us plus a 1/2 order of the limpet and all delicious. Lives up to its reviews!More

Great spot for a more typical Portuguese menu. Excellent variety and very tasty food. We ordered breaded fried octopus with caramelized onion chutney, a typical Portuguese bread based dish with shrimp and egg (note, the egg is raw and gets mixed in by your waiter),...stewed chicken gizzards, and the catch of the day that came with coleslaw and potatoes. Paired with a lemon radler This was plenty of food for 2 people. Overall an excellent meal and we would come back.More

What can I say except WOW. Everything from the food, to the service, to the price point was just “wow”. IMO, one of the best places we ate at during our week stay in Ponta Delgada. Delicious sesame-encrusted tuna, a mouth-watering traditional shrimp/couscous? Porridge dish,...and a yummy cheese and sausage appetizer. And a very well-priced bottle of vihno verde. It left us both amazed. Don’t miss this place. Just don’t.More

Food was great. I got a small meal of caldo verde (Kale Soup with couriço) and a salad of cucumber and avocado over a bed of shredded cabbage. The gin and tonics are always fun in Portugal since they come in a giant wine glass....They were pretty efficient which says a lot in Europe were most people take their time. I would like to go back when I am in town again and try their other food that also looked great.More

Servers were rude. I went in to confirm that they do not take reservations and was ignored as I stood patiently not wanting to interrupt the server as she was busy at the till area. When she continued to ignore me while drying wine glasses...I finally spoke up and was basically barked at. I left. Clearly they don't need the business.More

We had a wonderful dining experience here with local food from the Azores. The locals seem to love it and we had to wait for a table. It was worth the wait.

I just had to keep calling! Or just stop by when you’re in Ponta Delgada and make a reservation then. It’s worth it!
