The horrible waitress ruined our evening. We came on a very hot day but it was impossible to eat 3 courses instead of 4. We asked for water when we were seated but we were bitchy told off we needed to buy wine first. The...main course (pig) was extremely dry. What a waste.More

I felt the food was a 4 star, but due to extremely slow service and very high prices, I had to give it a 3 star. Choices were limited and there’s only a 4 course option available for 45 euros. But we had to order...bottled water for 5 euros per bottle and for a family of 3, we ended up ordering 5 bottles. I discovered at the end that water is only free if you order wine. Had I known, I would have had a bottle of wine for that price since we ended up paying 25 euros just for water. 160 euros total for 3 people without any other alcohol or coffee. The portions were small which was OK for me since I’m old and I eat very little, but for my son, we had to cook him a steak when we got home. There was only one server for the whole restaurant which made the service very slow. Overall, I would recommend the food if you have a lot of time and small appetite.More

Great table de hote, enjoyed a cleverly put together menu that illustrated the flair and ingenuity of the chef. Well balanced wine selection. Great spot for foodies like us

When we waked into the restaurant, we were greeted with a very warm welcome. The restaurant itself may not look like anything special, bit the food is beyond expectations. The ingredients the chef uses are all fresh from the day that the menu is all...hand written. It also means that the chef changes his menu very often. The menu is also a tasting menu with some substitutions available. It was a 4 - course menu, including the desert. The first course was a grilled calamari with squash and eggplant. It was incredibly flavorful and delicious that completely surprised us. The second dish was cod. It was cooked to perfection. The main was steak and veal cheek and wow, it was delicious and amazing. Lastly, the desert was a fig and almond cake with plum ice cream. We were both speachless. I highly recommend this place.More

In 2011 I was advised that this was a great restaurant. Ok, so it took me eight years to get here.... but guess what? It really is. It’s kind of tucked away on a quiet residential street, although there is another restaurant immediately adjacent. It...was a warm evening and we were able to enjoy dinner al fresco. The atmosphere is authentic, the decor homely and charming. There really was a truly classic ‘secret find’ vibe about the place. Our server (the only one for the entire place) was ‘relaxed in the Dutch style’ but genuinely knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. There is a four course Chefs menu and we followed it slavishly. Everything was great, I particularly enjoyed the Ray Wing starter. The chef had wine recommendations for each course, and you can try each by the glass! It was a lovely meal that suggested real knowledge and care in the kitchen. I heartily recommend Marius, don’t take 8 years to get here as I did 😉More

This small, exceptional restaurant was definitely the best we’ve been to in our many travels. Our Airbnb host made reservations for us, and we were glad to follow his advice. If you have a party of two, the table we had was across from the...tiny, open kitchen door and provided a wonderful view of the ballet of cooking. The staff called the table the camper as in compact. The wait staff spent lots of time with us explaining the menu items and choices. All of the food was day of fresh and excellently prepared. Chef worked at Chez Panisse at one time in his career. At the end of service, the chef spent some time talking with us. We were appreciative and will not forget that kindness.More

Friends recommended this restaurant where we had a lovely dinner. The chef and staff of this charming neighborhood restaurant were very involved in making sure we had an excellent experience. As a number of the wines on their list were new to us, our server...made suggestions that provided delightful pairings with each of our courses. We loved being able to sit inside in front of a large open window that made it feel like we were at one of the outside tables but without the sun or people walking by. It was a great relief to dine in a quiet area, which can be hard to find in Amsterdam. The menu changes daily and is not terribly large, but there is something for everyone. Our patient server read us the menu and answered questions we had. We were presented with a small starter to share while we enjoyed our first glass of wine and thought about the menu. We then shared a menu starter followed by the pork dish offered that evening for my husband and the bouilllabaisse for me. My husband loved this special pork dish with the accompanying vegetables, and I couldn't finish the very generous bouilllabaisse as it seemed like a portion for two. The chef came out to make sure we were pleased with our dinners, which we we were. If only I had a gem like this I could frequent often.More

Very friendly team who were happy to help non-Dutch speakers with the daily menu. Fresh produce presented with flair, and great service. Excellent wine recommendations too, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended if you are in this area.

This is a small restaurant in a bit of periferic location. However the atmosphere is very comfy and the food is very high quality. They frequently change the menu based on seasonal/market availability. The selection is a bit limited. The staff was friendly. Prices are...in line with Amsterdam average.More

The 4 course dinner is priced in line with the market trends I guess, but the portions are large and I found the food very good as well as the service excellent. The setting is tasteful and cosy, as well as not cramped. For warmer...days there is outdoor seating. The chef prepared great food in a homey environment. The osso buco was a little stiff, perhaps it should have been cooked longer, but it was still very good - I especially liked the sauce and the risotto that came with it was al dente and well seasoned. The starters were especially good and creative, the menu combined meat and fish in an admirable way. Def a place I want to return to. I also found the choice of wines excellent.More

We recently had dinner here and tried three out of the four entrees on the menu - fish soup, venison and sweetbreads. All were very tasty! First time for me to try sweetbreads, though I am still not quite sure which part of cow it...comes from, it's very delicious. The two appetizer we ordered were excellent as well. The ambience was on the homey end, very good for a night out with friends and family. Would recommend this place.More
