This had a strong old fried oil smell and was a bit grimy for my level of tolerance (and I come from 70s hippie stock, so my grime level is fairly high) and the service a little curt and unwelcoming. I’m more used to fresh...More

Had Okonomiyaki many many times in Japan. This is authentic as you can get outside Osaka. Have the Osaka style. Chef does some interesting twists you don't see in Japan, very welcome twists.

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.

Japanese Pancakes, or Okonomiyaki, are savoury pancakes with a variety of fresh toppings ranging from sweet corn, beef strips to king prawn. The three types of Okonomiyaki we serve are specialties of the regions Osaka, Hiroshima and Kobe. The word Okonomiyaki means 'cook as you like' which also explains the accommodating nature of these pancakes: just choose your favourite toppings and indulge yourself in your personalised pancake, Japanese-style. All our Okonomiyakis are freshly prepared in our open kitchen, following the traditional cooking method, the average time required for a pancake is approximately 30 minutes. while waiting, you are most welcome to watch your okonomiyaki being cooked in our open kitchen, just like in Osaka, Hiroshima and Kobe. Please note: our Restaurant is tiny. To avoid disapointments, we strongly advise you to book your table in advance.
