Walking aimlessly through AMuster dam I dropped into this cozy place. The menu looked good - the service was very friendly - and the today’s recommendation of a Seabass was excellent. I had marinated salmon as starter and a wonderful lemon cheesecake as desert. Prices...More

De Reiger in the Jordan District of Amsterdam is a small bar and restaurant with really good food and a very “locals” feel . They have a great beer selection and delicious meals. Everything I have had there was delicious. My wife has had the...More

This restaurant was one of the recommended restaurants at the end of an Airbnb foodie tour. We got there early. It wasn’t crowded. Service was a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry. The bucket of mussels was on the specials board. It is...More

A very popular bar restaurant serving interesting and delicious food. The corn soup was outstanding and the lamb with lime risotto a treat for the palate, the lamb soft as butter. It’s a very small restaurant and when full we were cheek by jowl with...More

Excellent small gastro pub in the Jordaan. We went on a Saturday night 7pm ish and only had to wait for 15mins or so. Drop by -- the wait is not as bad as you might read. Small, intimate, and enjoyed by locals. If you...More

We went fairly late (about 9 or 9:30) and the small restaurant was still crowded, but the service was friendly and efficient. We had the ribs, which were delicious, and also a soup. I think this is what is called a "brown cafe" -- a...More

The restaurant is in a side street, slightly away from the tourists. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. The rasberry cheese cake was extraordinary good.

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
