This café/restaurant is a typical local place with warm atmosphere and nice terrace. The service was prompt and food fine, just what one needs for a short lunch stop. The price inclusive soda and beer of some 30 eur pp was reasonable.
We stopped for Lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was busy and the food was excellent. However, waiters were not looking around and it was difficult to catch there attention. We didn't have a dessert or coffee as I had lost interest when someone...finally came back to us so we just paid the bill and left.More
Had lunch with six people on a busy Saturday afternoon. Due to the rainy weather, the place was packed to the last seat. Staff could hardly cope with the crowds and complained amongst themselves. However, they remained friendly to the guests. It took a while...before the order came to the table. Large tasty portions. Quality and price are in proportion. We will definitely come back here despite the crowds.More
Always when we visit Maastricht with couples, this is our meeting point. A nice heated terrace and no matter how busy it is the staff remains friendly.
Inside it is a cosy interior and there is a varied menu. We forgot to reserve, but for...a quick bite was still roomMore
We selected this place as they propose group menus. Unfortunately, we ignored that we had to mention this in advance. Not an issue as finally we all selected dishes at the menu and all were served in good timing and conditions. The atmosphere is very...warm and the place offers a lot of seats although the tables are well organised with enough space so that you do not feel oppressed. The food is of good quality, well prepared and the service is very professional and helpful. The choice of food and beverage is good so that all can select depending on their needs and preferences. including diet or vegetarian options. Finally we all had a nice experience. We came back to the place as a couple to confirm our first impression: validated! We recommend this place on the very busy Vrijhof placeMore
We came here last night and it was an absolutely spectacular meal. Ribs were great. Very well cooked and literally cascaded off the bones. Could not recommend more! Quiche was lovely and great value for money. Bitterballen were a nice snack before the meal. Service...was great with friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant was nice and clean. It had a great atmosphere for a lovely evening meal. 5/5.More
Good service even though we ate outside and really surprised about the size of the place and while the food was typically bistro it was still good. Great place as well to sit during the day and watch the world go by.
We decided to check this place out as we were quite hungry. The case was less than half full. However after submitting our order nothing happened after 30 minutes. When people who came after us, ordered and received their lunch, I questioned the staff. Something...about kitchen being very busy (even though we saw the cook wondering in the cafe) and the food would come out shortly. Maybe the chickens were still laying eggs for my omelet but after an hour of nothing of excuses we got up and left. By that time other patrons had finished their lunch. We were so starving and I can't eat excuses.
This reminds me why I've left Holland years ago. The service industry is still as dreary.
I guess this is why Dutch invented snackbars. At least you can get some nourishment.
The don't care attitude of the wait staff was as disappointing as the lack of food.More
I recently visited Maastricht for a conference, and one night two colleagues and I went into town for some food. I am coeliac, and so must eat gluten-free, and after a quick internet search Cafe D'n Ingel seemed like a good option.
We weren't disappointed,...the food was cooked well, and served on a buzzing terrace. I had beef carpacio and a steak, but my colleagues also really enjoyed their meals (one is also a vegetarian, so together we were a tricky crowd to please!). The staff were fully aware of the importance of gluten to a coeliac, and my meals even came out with a clear cloche to help prevent cross-contamination in the kitchen. This was an impressive touch, and gives a lot of confidence which helps you enjoy the meal.
Overall this was a nice meal in a good location, and excellent for a coeliac - recommend.More
