The food is good and prices are reasonable, the location is very good, overseeing the marvelous staircase. You have a bit the feeling you are eating in a parking lot though.

Good place for people watching. One of the best ice creams we had in Sicily. Pleaasant service. Toilets at the top of the stairs.
As a first generation Sicilian, I am giving this place high marks. The food is good. But, the feel and hospitably are authentic. In Florence, of course, a much different dining experience is expected. But, in Caltagirone, I felt at home. The kitchen and bar...area is managed by Luigi and his sister, Heidi, was our server. Luigi greeted us with such a warm spirit while Heidi worked hard to ensure we were taken care of. We were lucky enough to sit outside. We watched an older gentlemen step out of an SUV, walk over to the plaza center (in front of where we were sitting) and began spinning a top across the plaza. Others came by to speak with him while the city pooches greeted each other and played. After our meal, we were ready to tackle the ceramic stores (which there are plenty!)More
The place is quite nice and the personal is welcoming but the food isn’t very good. The products don’t show quality and it’s very fat and heavy in the stomach. I don’t recommand this place
As a break of our visit of Caltagirone we went for a late lunch. Menu is limited and the food is ok, nothing more, but nothing less either. Their specialty is (savoury) crêpes. It’s a typical small-town-eating place, with down to earth service and not...much originality or creativity. The nice thing about this place is not the food, but the location, on a small square in the centre of Caltagirone, and the art deco style main room inside the building. Prices are ok.More
Wonderful place to have a quick bite before hitting the streets and hiking up outdoor steps. We were very lucky to not only find a table outside but also to have the pleasant Salvo be our waiter. Our lunch consisted of a fresh salad and...a sandwich. Salad was refreshing and the sandwich was big enough for two people.More
Our Backroads tour leader suggested this place. It was too blustery to eat at the outdoor seating on the Piazza so we opted for a beer and white wine indoors. The draft beer was fresh and the Sicilian white wine refreshing. The server gave as...a nice plate of bread, olives and salumi gratis - a very nice touch.More
