Avoid at all cost! It is the best place to get infected! Food is good. Portions are small. Staff is friendly. Dining tables socially distanced, hand sanitizer available, use of mask by staff but strong lack of supervising regarding use of mask by customers! We...asked the staff to intervene, but nothing was done!More
Wonderful place, the food wasn’t as good as I expected after seeing the location but however above the average. The staff has been very nice and pleasant and we passed a beautiful night. The price fits the nice atmosphere.
My wife and I have visited many restaurants in our 35 years together, and this ranks as one of the best. Of course we had second thoughts after reading some of the negative comments posted here recently, but as soon as we were greeted at...the door, I thought to myself “What restaurant did these people go to?”. Miriam and Marco were both examples of wonderful service; the food was delicious; the ambiance from the last century. The post meal aperitif of Merlino Vino Liquoroso was the best I have every had. Another great feature is that they have on site parking.More
Avoid at all cost. Food is definitely overpriced. This place is famous in Bologna for its ambience but if you are not lucky enough to have a nice table you will find yourself in a normal restaurant where waiters are rude and food is below...expectations. You need to book weeks in advance, but it is not worth it!More
I have been eating at Franco since when he was located in Via Broccaindosso, always a super food. Since several years he moved to the new location and the restaurant is marvelous. The dishes change with the season, the food is always super, the place...is very romantic! In summer the restaurant offers an outside location, it is a pleasure to dine there! And Franco is a marvelous host, do not leave Bologna without eating at this place!!More
Α beautiful house with mesmerizing gardens. The staff was very assistive and the cocktails at the outside bar were we sat until seated were fragrant and well thought of. Watermelon with pergamonto, ginger and basil.. the food was freshly prepared and we particularly liked the...sea bass and the pasta with octopus.More
Nice old house, parking outside, close to the airport. Good service and cosy atmosphere. Food style is quite modern, not rusticò at all, as the old house might suggest. Seafood risotto was good, so was ombrino. Chocolate fondants was an interpretation, could have been warmer....Good experience overall.More
You'll get natural and sparkling water right away you're seated. When this water geta warm you'll get some new. They don't ask you they will change it. The dishes are real emilia romagna kitchen at its best! Highly recommended.
We went with friends for dinner and sat on the terrace for an hour on either side of sunset. We've been before and were not disappointed in our high expectations. Food, wine, service and setting were all exceptional, the restaurant was full and buzzing, we...were glad we had booked well in advance. When I left my glasses on a chair at the end of the evening Enrico arranged for their delivery to my hotel the next day for no more than our heartfelt thanks. Service like that is not found every day.More
Beautiful House with nice decoration and loving garden. Food is well made, quick to serve. Useful if we want a good lunch before to take off(15mn to Bologna airport). Italian cheese plate was great. Almost 5 stars ! If the waiters smiling... But it was...a dog-day, so we will try and see again.More
I know this place since many years….although it’s been a long while since I had dinner here. Coming back I was not surprised to find the same atmosphere and not only legendary Mr. Franco but also his sons ( Giacomo and Marco) and the legendary...waiter Enrico. Arriving to this place in the outskirts of Bologna you already get a warm feeling of the country house in the middle of the camps that attracts you by its lights. Those lights are different in winter and summer but have always the same power of making you think about special moments and some kind of Christmas feeling. Big and comfortable parking, once you get in the initial impression of warmth gets stronger by the welcome they reserve you. After deciding on the menu you are offered a small entrée which changes every week but is always original and tasty. The plates offer meat and fish and also typical dishes from Bologna, for a starter don’t miss the mortadella mousse. We had fish ……starting with stuffed squid with potatoes and porcini mushrooms accompanied with lemon and rice milk sauce. For first course we had torchio spaghetti pasta (made into a shape that appears similar to the base of a torch) with squid, shrimps, broccoli, lemon zest and bottarga (dense cured fish roe made from tuna, gray mullet or swordfish) and yellow lasagna with smoked salmon and nutmeg - coconut milk sauce. Both dishes were not only original but delicious! All this accompanied by a wine I never had before, Sauvignon Blanc Primosic, great discovery! You can’t miss the dessert in a place like this and the conclusion held up the first impressions : rice cake with crunchy biscuit and vanilla cream. Congratulations to Franco for his long experience and passion, congratulations to his two sons : Giacomo chef who creates these great plates, Marco maître who maintains the magic atmosphere of this place and, last but not least, Enrico a waiter who faithfully serves and makes clients feel good since many many years. Bravi!More
Wonderful setting, beautiful building, great menu, terrific service...and all at sensible prices. A really special place
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday meal. The website says telephone bookings only but not speaking Italian, I emailed them with some help from Google which was fine. We got a taxi there as it is a little out the way but we...weren't disappointed with the place. It had a nice warm feel to it and a great setting for a romantic meal. Starters were good, pasta was ok but the venison was amazing. What topped it off for me was that, the staff brought over a 'birthday cake' with sparklers which my girlfriend really appreciated. I had forgotten that I mentioned it to them in my initial email so thought this was such a nice gesture. We only experienced dinner in the evening but I think it would be a totally different experience coming here for lunch / in the summer.More
Great service other than the language barrier getting things a bit different than planned. excellent food with a wide variety and looked and tasted different than expected, very artistic with fresh flavors and methods. 1 had steak, excellent, cooked perfectly and seasoned. Risotto was good....I had seafood appetizer (squid stuffed with potato may sound odd but it was wonderful and looked amazing). Pressed Spaghetti with seafood was tremendous - calamari, shrimp. Dessert was out of this world, cream brulee had chestnut. berry gelato excellent. white chocolate dome triple chocolate was great as well.More
