Great lunchtime haunt for the locals. Menu consists of Regional specialities, rediscovered and developed. Highly recommended.

We ate here on a very rainy night. It was a bit hard to find but very welcoming. Tiny place with wonderful local cuisine and their own wine. We love the pizza with minestre. It is pieces of crust (not pizza like you think) made...with corn flour with sautéed spinach or maybe chard as a first course. Comfort food for sure. We also had fried pumpkin and grilled lamb (sort of lamb chops and other parts). Desert was a peach crumble with marinated sour cherries and maybe mascarpone. Be sure and book ahead, the place is tiny and popular.More

It's a tiny, easy, small place with thick walls and a long tradition. Better to make a reservation in advance: it's closed in the weekend and it's well known and filled with locals. Service was fast and kind, expecially in explaining the dishes unknown to...people coming there first time. Cheese is at its best here: we had pizza e meneste as a starter (corn loaf with local wild herbs, very tasty) even though locally it's considered a first course. Pasta with fagiolini and pomodorini is very good, as it's caciocavallo al forno. Home made cake with amarene and noci was delicious. Portions are adequate and price is low.More

WOW! I’m so glad we had the opportunity to dine here. What a treat and the opportunity to enjoy the local cuisine. Our waiter spoke a little english and helpful in navigating the menu.We started with the variety of wild greens (Pizza e Minestrone) followed...by pasta with cauliflower (Spaghetti aglio olio pep. e cavolfiore). We also had with fresh artichokes with potatoes (Carciofi e patate) and then fabulous meatballs ( polpette al sugo). Thanks for a great dinner! Our compliments to the chef and thanks to an attentive and helpful staff wait staff.More

This was a wonderful hidden gem we stumbled across while visiting my great great grandmother and grandfather’s hometown. The Molise region is known for their pears, cheese, and blades. I had a salad with pears and cheese that was out of this world good! The...regions finest in one dish! The owners speak English so I called to see when they opened. We visited on a Monday and they opened at 8pm. We sat inside - almost every table was taken! This was an amazing experience. We also asked for balsamic with the oils and bread and were politely informed that balsamic is a northern Italy thing - so we learned more while we had amazing wine and food! Loved this experience so much! If you are ever in the area I hope you check it out. You will not be disappointed. The lasagne melts in your mouth and everything about it is perfect!More

We had heard lots about this restaurant and looked forward to eating there. So with a group of friends, we tried it for lunch. It was delightful. Paper table clothes, very good food, and excellent service was the order of the day, Recommended.

We had our annual pilgrimage to Da Zi Concetta. We visit Molise each year and try to visit our favourite restaurants including Zi Concetta. As always last night did not disappoint as we tried a variety of Primi and then ordered our Secondi. The food...was fresh and loaded with local produce from the Molise/Campobasso region. We highly recommend this restaurant and gave it a four star since our favourite server was massing for our dinner. The service was still excellent but we missed her charming but serious server qualities. The night was also highlighted by meeting a group of North Americans from New York, Toronto and Vegas who have relocated to Molise from their native land.More

Had When Harry Met Sally been filmed in Italy, any beginner could have been casted and, when placed in front of wny of the plates, would have come accross as an accomplished actor or actress in the famous scene! La Grotta won one of the...two of last year's Agrodolce regional food award for Molise and deservingly so, the quality of the food, the friendly staff, the options availableall make it a winner. If you can, make it before one to secure a table in the courtyard/garden behind. The place is frequnted by foodies but mostly by locals who end up talking from one table to the other.More

This is the place to try real traditional Campobasso cuisine. No frill, or expensive deco, just local good food. We whee offer a choice of four starter and 4 mains and as there where four of us we tried all of them. The starters excellent,...the mains not on the same level but will go back. Good house red.More
