We were drawn here because they show the Sunday night crime time 'Tatort'. We ordered a drink and it came quickly. Comfy sofas and armchairs. But the staff should realise that if they see empty glasses later they could at least ask if the person wants a refill. If I owned this place I'd be stricter with the staff,all of whom,incidetally,are charming.

Waiting more than 1 hour, trying to capt the wistress attention
And finally no drinks to drink
Really disappointed by the bad organisation of this bar.

No one here seems to care about their jobs or the customers. We were asked to sit and told a waiter would be over to take our orders. Half an hr later - no menus or waiter in sight we moved to the bar where we were still ignored for a good 10 minutes by the most miserable staff. Another table approached us and said they had been waiting over an hour for someone to come to their table. Cocktails weren't worth the wait. The only decent thing is the gin selection and some comfy chairs. You're wasting your time here if you expect any kind of genuine hospitality or a decent cocktail.

I went to bar with my friends and asked for the receipts, the staff just provided a piece of paper, and said the system was broken. I asked for more detailed receipts, and she responded: as I told you the system is broken, so what should I do, close the bar? I said providing a detailed receipt is very normal, then she asked me are you German? I don't understand why my nationality is relevant in this case, she is clearly racist. Horrible experiences and never go there again.

Great selection of Gin which is just what we were in the mood for. And luckily our bartender was a "gin-nerd" and she took great care of us, so went through a bunch of different bottles, all but one were a hit(wasn't a fan of orange flavored gin)

Trendy cool bar to go to prior to cosmic comedy club. Retro vintage feel. Good choices of drinks and reasonable

The atmosphere is lively and can get really smokey. Staff was friendly. Had whisky and the pours were weak. A smaller glass should be given for small pours or else it feels weird to drink.

The location is cozy and centrally located. Sometimes service can be slow. I recommend the place for drinking.

Went last night for a few drink with friends, tried to order drinks at the bar and were told to sit down the most miserable barmaid ever, I know the way service works in Berlin I come here often but these girls were down right rude, took ages to come over to take our order then came back 10 mins later plonked them don't and walked off. We unfortunately spilled a drink and when I went to the bar to ask for a cloth I was given 2 pieces of kitchen roll after the girls finished talking and ignoring me.....The last drink I got was a long island ice tes which was the worst ever, i went back to ask for more lime and the girl huffed snatched the glass and tipped a load of cordial in...the tab came to over 50 euro, I told them I wasn't going to pay for the cocktail as I didn't drink it and the girl handed us the bill and repeated the price, we asked if she had removed the cost and she said yes but obviously hadn't, we just took it off ourselves, paid and left.......I would NEVER EVER go there again and don't recommend anyone to , waste of time and money...WORST SERVICE EVER

We were staying in an Airbnb round the corner from Volksbar so popped in for a drink on the way home one night and ended up staying into the early hours.
A fab, comfy, casual bar with excellent cocktails and friendly service. Would go back.

After being refused entry to a night club the day before for being too old,we were worried when the bouncers on the door told us that we couldnt go in to the main bar as there was a private party going on .He then told us we would be most welcome in the gallery lounge section for drinks, so we went upstairs and chose one of the comfy sofas (Its like a furniture showroom upstairs, lots of old sofas and standard lamps!) A really smashing waitress came up to take our drinks order and looked after us all evening , coming up every now and then to see if we were ok.We had the advantage of listening to the great ambient dance music from the DJ downstairs whilst sipping our drinks in big squishy sofas and being waited on ! Volks Bar you ROCK!
