The restaurant is perfectly positioned being close to the heart of the busy walled city, yet with its own independence and seclusion from the bustle of the town. Well spaced seating with a wide choice of indoor or outdoor areas and friendly staff make for a fabulous first impression. Cool jazz plays in the background as you forget that you’re in the middle of a busy tourist area. The restaurant offers a’la carte and several set menu deals, we opted for one of the more expensive deals at €34.90 for three courses which is quite a deal it seems, I opted for goats cheese to start which turned up as a disappointing cold blobs on cold roast - my wife’s fish starter was better. Sadly our main courses took almost another 45 mins to arrive, the cassoulet was nice but not the best, my wife’s tuna arrived as two small squares, over cooked and on a big lump of mashed potatoes. . not good . . We didn’t have time for desert as we had to leave to catch our train back to Toulouse - Great venue, underwhelming food

The cassoulet with the foie gras slice was excellent and the beef fillet rossini very good. Nice and professional waiter. In the shop adjacent to the restaurant they sell their cassoulet in jar with a discount for the restaurant customers.

We went to visit Carcassone and actually got the site right. They have a menu of 35€ and with this menu you can taste the typical “ Cassoulet “ a typical dish of the area, all the service was 10, to highlight Miss. Vanessa who took care of us.
The spectacular food, if you travel to Carcassonne Castle do not hesitate to come and eat here.

Restaurant offering a good cassoulet with or without pan-fried foie gras.
Too bad.
Poor reception, poor service.
The terrace is very nice and the service fast.
Even a little too much because we were brought the dishes when we had not finished our aperitif.
No accompaniment for the aperitif, better take it in other small more friendly bars.

We read the reviews and were fortunate enough to get a booking. We are so pleased we did. The food was excellent, well presented, fresh and full of flavour. The duck confit was a most delightful dish as was the cassoulet. According to my wife one of the best she has eaten and certainly one of the best she has had in France. The staff, particularly Nicholas, with his attentiveness and responsiveness made sure we had a most enjoyable dinning experience. Definitely we head back there if we get the chance. Booking in advance is essential if you don’t want to be disappointed.

We went to order burrata salad but they no longer had this available. We then tried to order the foie gras but we were advised to order the duck salad with gizzards and foie gras, this came out in a Mexican tortilla wrap that was toasted in the shape of a bowl. We also ordered a side of frites which were pure oil and soggy! They had clearly been cooked in old oil. Extremely disappointing , we ate two mouthfuls and yet charged full price. The waitress was apologetic stating this was fresh french food, however, a Mexican tortilla wrap and soggy frites are not my idea of “fresh” or “french”.
If it had of been what we actually wanted to order , this would have be on us! However, we were advised to order the duck/foie gras (mexican) bowl so I really feel this should not have been on the bill!
Lesson learned… highly recommend L’escargot, Comte roger and restaurant le plo!

Excellent experience. Very kind staff and perfect atmosphere, in the center of the citadel but in a secluded and silent garden. Fantastic dinner. We took a tasting menu for 29 euros: excellent goat salad sandwiches, pork medallions with fantastic mashed potatoes and cambabert sauce and vegetables to garnish and finally a double dessert with pancotta and house-made chocolate mousse. Perfect menu and every dish carefully prepared. In addition, an amazing cassoulet (18 euros) with attention to the smallest details. All dishes juicy and plentiful. Many many compliments, absolutely recommended.

10/10 for the very pleasant and professional waiter!
0 for the room manager! Having had stomach surgery and eating very small quantities, to avoid waste I ask the waiter if I can take a children's menu to taste the cassoulet. Immediate response from this lady:
“NO. If she eats little we have entries on the menu”
Forced to choose out of spite. It doesn't make you want to consume more!
My partner enjoyed his gourmet cassoulet! I would have liked to say the same.
It's cool to have good cuisine, but being understanding and not looking for turnover is THE extra thing

We had a family dinner at this highly rated restaurant. Our expectations were therefore high but we were disappointed by the cassoulet.
We were especially very shocked by the attitude of the person behind the bar, the boss it seems, who did not appreciate that a customer answered honestly to the waiter's question to find out how the meal was. The customer apparently didn't like it. The boss started talking loudly that out of 200 customers, there were always 2 or 3 ch*****, he kept looking at the customer unkindly and even approached him threateningly. This attitude is unprofessional. We won't come back.

Beautiful, very welcoming place in the streets of the city. The waiter is very friendly with his customers and always with a smile.
We ate a delicious traditional cassoulet and good duck leg confit.
Very good stopover!

After being refused by most restaurants because we had not booked (normally we have just arrived in Carcassonne and we are discovering the restaurants in the city) I came across this restaurant by chance which accepts customers with a smile and what's more dishes offered are very good.
So don't look for 1 hour and go straight to this friendly and welcoming place with a terrace and a fairly large and well-distributed outdoor garden in terms of tables.
I highly recommend

The dishes are excellent and worthy of a gourmet restaurant. The marinated pork skewer as the dish of the day is delicious and served generously. We have never had such good cassoulet before. The homemade desserts are very good.
The setting is beautiful and the service is perfect.

A very friendly experience when visiting the city of Carcassonne
A well-deserved break after visiting the castle, the cassoulet is definitely worth a visit to eat local.
For those who prefer meat or fish alternative solutions are offered.
The service is really friendly, and professional.
We will be back with great pleasure 😀

The food was typically French and quite good and the price was rather in the upper segment. The gentleman who served us was very nice and funny and responded very flexibly because we were left without Reservation in the evening.
Unfortunately, the menus were all very smeared with fat.

We recommend this address! Very pleasant stopover in the center of the city of Carcassonne. The cassoulet is worth the detour as are the other à la carte dishes, tasty and served in correct portions. Everyone feasted!
