One of the top 3 meals we have ever eaten so glad we followed the reviews on Tripadvisor to find this hidden geam. The dessert of profiteroles were just incroyable. Will be back soon. Lovely food, cosy atmosphere and great service. Highly recommended.
We had a fantastic meal sitting in the pretty garden under the trees with the castle walls around us. The staff were friendly and attentive and spoke some English. The food and wine were all delicious and all five of our party enjoyed their choice....There was limited choice for the vegetarian among us but she had a nice pasta dish. All in all a very good evening.More
We had a really nice lunch in the old Cité of Carcassonne. On a super hot day we got a shady place in their garden. Their service was efficient and attentive. We had different salads, quiches and burgers. The Price was very reasonable considering the...location. We would happily return another time!More
We went here on the basis of an article by Anthony Horrowitz in the Daily Telegraph. I had cassoulet and I was not impressed - no imagination in the presentation and it was incredibly hot. The room is also rather dark. Service was on the...slow side. Cost GBP87.More

We visited Au Jardin de la Tour last night based on several recommendations from locals and previous visitors; sadly it was a real let-down. The poached egg and aubergine starter was delicious but for some reason the bruschetta sharing platter ordered for the table replaced...one friend’s aubergine starter... we shared mine as the waiter apparently couldn’t understand us when we sought to correct it. Sea bream main courses were good but the lamb shank was inedible. Side orders of chips were ordered to compensate and feed the hungry man- these were good!
Desserts were very poor compared with the other restaurants in which we ate on previous nights (Le Chaudron, La Marquiere, Le Troubadour) Similarly the pichets of corbiere were less good than the other restaurants and bars we visited. The blanc was fine but the red was definitely oxidised and therefore, extremely unusually for us, was left unfinished. The €112 bill for the meal (incl two €32 formules neither of which was even served in its entirety) could have represented great value for money if the food, wine and service had been good but, as it was, we felt utterly deflated given the lovely evenings we had enjoyed on the three previous occasions. Definitely left a ‘sour taste’ sadly!More
So hard to know where to eat with so much on offer but for us without doubt the best meal of our 5 day Carcassonne stay. The Tomato and Basil soup was delicious and for the first time of trying I really enjoyed my cassoulet....Way to full for dessert but the Rose wine flowed freely and the lovely lady who served us was just that... lovely. Good value and we left feeling we had been really well looked after.More
Recommended by our hotel but slightly mixed. The food was mainly good but the cassoulet was too hot to eat for ages and then not much taste to it. The scallops and gambas were very good. But very surprising not to have a cheese selection....Service was a little underwhelming but we did get the extra chips (delicious) even though we were told the kitchen might be closed. Maybe it was because there was a very large party in when we were thereMore

What a perfect evening we had, group of 7 adults and a baby seated on one big round table in the beautiful garden courtyard. Great service from our wonderful waitress Marine and the team, amazing food cooked with quality ingredients and accommodating a coeliac diet...and a dairy allergy effortlessly. We each had 7 courses and 3 very nice bottles of Rose and the price including a 20% tip was 40 euros per person. The communication between us and the staff was great and reassuring for the members of the party with special requirements. Couldn't have asked for more from an evening out with friends and we will struggle to not visit again before the end of this holiday. MUST VISIT!More
