The interior is cozy although when it gets crowded you are seated arm to arm with another patrons. The service was fast and impeccable. I liked the food (fromage de chèvre rôti) - it was perfect on a cold day.
In the Medieval city for 4 nights, had an ordinary meal at hotel restaurant night one, found this little gem for night 2, and everything was brilliant, it has a great bistro atmosphere, a mixture of local & touristy patrons. A great menu, with both...a choice of set menus & an a la carte. Service was great, good selection of beers/wines etc. & the food not only looked Magnificent, it was Magnificent. Only down side was we were unable to book for next night it is closed.More
We had a wonderful meal here during our time in Sarlat. Almost went back. Should have gone back. Each course was so fresh, a delight for the senses. Very reasonably priced. Attentive service. Warm welcome. Considerate tolerance for my lousy French. Great ambiance. Casual but...classy. Highly recommend.More
This was a lovely restaurant, really good food well presented. More up market as such compared to some of the restaurants in the main square. They all tended to serve mostly same things with chips.
This restaurant food was freshly made no chips in sight,...the deserts were very good. Good Wine. We really enjoyed it went twice.More
Again a sweltering day but there is a breeze here. The salads were great and the service was very friendly. We actually stopped for just coffee but after 30 minutes of watching the food emerge we stayed for lunch. We tried to return but it...was full in the shade.More
Service started out ok and as soon as it got busier, the quality of the service suffered. I do not blame the servers; there were just too many tables for two people to manage well. The food was also inconsistent. My husband enjoyed his "greedy...salad" and he said the cassoulet was decent. I had the gambas and would not recommend the dish. While they looked very good, they were saturated in oil or butter and I could not detect any seasoning at all. The accompanying dishes were very disappointing. There was a green been and carrot mix that was incredibly overcooked. The gratin potatoes were cold and flavourless. There was a ratatouille in a ramekin and it was 50% oil with a few vegetables swimming in it. I did see some dishes at other tables that looked tasty - the "main dish" salads looked particularly good and I wish I had gone with one of them. Sadly, I would not recommend this restaurant. The proprietor of our hotel recommended L'escargot and there was a 20-minute wait for an outdoor table so, we made an impromptu choice. I wish we had waited.More
